Good food but terrible service. Our server Renso or Lenso was awful. We ordered our food and he didn't write down any of our order, then when he brought out our food he handed me shrimp enchiladas and said they were beef chimichangas. Side note I didn't order either of those, I ordered crab chimichangas. He tried to argue with me and told me they didn't have crab chimichangas on the menu. Then he said he would go get them because he realized he was wrong. Everyone at the table already finished their food and we still were waiting for mine. Finally I asked when my food would be out because we had been waiting 20+ minutes and he went to the back and brought them out right away. I tried to explain that if he would have just apologized and let me know my food would be out as soon as possible I wouldn't be upset. But there was zero communication. It was just him telling me they didn't have it on the menu then going to let the kitchen know. Then he tried to avoid us until I said something. Also didn't check on the other table members one time. Really bad experience, maybe he was new but communication would have been nice. read more

I ordered the 3 tacos special for lunch and they were pretty good. They were basic, and came with lettuce and cheese but that was fine with me. If I wanted to upgrade, I would add sour cream or guacamole on the side, but for a quick lunch, it hit the spot, and they provided a bag of chips and salsa on the side. The staff literally had my order ready in less than 5 minutes and I appreciated that. The interior appeared neat, it was not overly fancy but looked like a typical fast casual dining establishment with a few tables out front as well. Frankly, we've found our favorite item on the menu and we rarely deviate from it now. It's the Chile Colorado dish - sliced beef in a red sauce, served with rice and beans, guacamole, and salad accoutrements. They will also give you 3 tortillas so you can make your own tacos, corn or flour. If you like spicy food, ask for their habanero salsa. Sometimes they confuse it for their dark red, smoky salsa since that one is spicy too - but the true habanero one is more orange in color and more on the thin/liquidy side for a salsa, but packs amazing flavor and heat! Recommend sitting in their outside section. They have sun shades for when it's super hot out, but also an actual covered part in case there's rain or bad weather. read more

We also ordered the steak taco and a medium peach margarita (only $7.99 during happy hour!). The food was very flavorful, especially the birria meat. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the tortilla was not crisp or hot. The customer service was adequate. If you are ever in Charleston, I would highly recommend the birria tacos and ask for them to crisp the tortilla. I'm not sure if this a different region, but I was expecting a chile relleno the size of my hand that had cheese and breaded and fried. This one was stuffed with beef and liquid white cheese and looked stewed. It was about the size of two fingers. The tamale was a good size but it was dry. The enchiladas are like all the enchiladas I've tried at every Mexican place. They're these like half baked things. Once seated, we were brought chips and salsa quite quickly. I'm not a big chip person but I did enjoy them. My dining companion ordered a Chile Colorado, which was good, but a little on the spicy side. The other member of our party had taquitos, they were ordered with ground beef, but came out with shredded. It tasted ok though. I had a quesadilla which was just alright, I've had better and worse. Ordered a side of sour cream, which was a couple of bucks. Seemed a little high. The margaritas were good. Patio was pet friendly too! There were a couple of other diners with dogs too.
