Was in the area this evening after a kids event and grabbed some Cauldron. Still fantastic! Made fresh, super creamy and delicious! My wife got the Puffle with Milk & Cereal flavor, enjoyed it a ton. We ordered three things; mint chocolate chip, rose, and milk and cereal. All with a bubble waffle cone. The service was disappointing, the guy who worked there seemed like he didn't care and it was just another job. No life to him and was just rude about asking the code for the bathroom. The mint and chip is basic. Nothing too much about it. My kids like it, so I got it. Average 3/5. The rose ice cream tasted like a rose, it was pretty good and very floral. The disappointing part is I was hoping the ice cream would be shaped like a rose as depicted on the picture. Nope, just a scoop and left it as is. 5/5 for taste and 0/5 for presentation. The milk and cereal one was actually pretty good. Especially with Frosted Flakes in it. It literally taste like cereal. 5/5. I would give it a higher star if the service complimented it and th presentation of the rose ice cream did.

I truly love ice cream parlors and am glad Han's does well and happens to be right down the street from where I live. The service is always friendly, they always answer any questions and are attentive the whole interaction. The store itself has a good amount of seating with the neon signs glowing in the background. The smell of waffles cones lingers in the air as you enjoy your dessert. I will say I have only been to Han's for ice cream, this review bears no criticism on the food itself, however it does look good. The ice cream, from the flavors I've had are well made, smooth and creamy, not a single ice crystal to be found. The variety would be my one knock against Han's, in a world where other ice cream shops take it above and beyond Han's has many flavors that are pretty similar. However, Han's stays true to itself with its selection, and that can be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it, all I know is I love the coffee oreo and circus animal flavors. The munchie was a really nice surprise, if you've ever had an Its-Its, it's pretty much that with more flavors to boot. If you're looking for a place to have a first date or just get some ice cream after dinner, your money is well spent at Han's

The shop has a nostalgic, old-school vibe that makes it feel like a classic neighborhood ice cream spot. It was interesting seeing the combination of deli/restaurant and homemade ice cream all in one place. Definitely seems like a spot where you could grab a meal and finish it off with something sweet afterward. As for the ice cream, there was a decent variety of flavors to choose from. One downside is that they don't offer samples, so I played it safe and stuck with flavors I already knew I'd generally enjoy rather than taking a chance on something new. I do wish sampling was an option, especially when trying a new ice cream shop and deciding between several flavors. While it was a pleasant stop, nothing about the ice cream or overall experience particularly stood out.

This place felt dangerously close to being at Five Guys Burger restaurant, the decor, the whole vibe that was attached to it. We basically had to stand in line like a fast food chain, like Burger King or McDonald's, and ordered ice cream. But the setup was and looked like five guys burgers. The overall experience here at Handel's Homemade Ice Cream shop in Irvine, California was about 10-15 minutes. My group of 5 each got something and I ended up with a pint of their chocolate ice cream. It was a part of my birthday dinner celebration on a weekend in September 2026. Thankful that my purchase was paid for by family. It was around 8pm when we walked in on a Saturday night. There was no visible chairs and tables to sit on so we ended up eating it on the way to the car. I myself ended up eating my pint of ice cream back in my hotel room later that evening while enjoying late night tv. And at Handel's Ice cream shop, it was nice. There were a bunch of high school kids working that night and it was nice to see all of them working professionally and being responsible and respectful. It was honestly cool that there's some good in the world these days. I enjoyed that aspect of this experience and got in ice cream for my birthday celebration. The overall experience and atmosphere of Handel's Homemade Ice Cream in Irvine, California was nice and casual, while being very much expedient and enjoyable as the same time. While there weren't any tables inside the ice cream shop, there was limited seating outside the store, but they were occupied at the time I was there. The restaurant was kind of standing room only, so there was a bunch of people already in line when my group came in to check out the scene. For the most part though, it was nice to have an ice cream shop nearby to complete the birthday dinner ensemble after a ramen dinner with family. Ice cream is always a good choice for anyone and everyone especially children. If you're in the Irvine area and love to grab your ice cream fix, consider coming to Handel's homemade ice cream shop and tell them your favorite flavors. They just might have yours in stock. I was happy that they had my classic chocolate readily available and there's a few chocolate inspired creations as well. Really nice and definitely recommended and even suggested if you're in the Irvine area and want a good dessert to end the work day or weekend evening. Or ice cream just because. Made my trip to Irvine worth it for sure. Handel's Ice cream shop is located in Irvine, California. It's physically located at 5365 Alton Parkway in the heart of Irvine. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. For myself though, it was paid for by my family because it was my birthday treat and it was great. So that's that. As far as parking goes, there's generous parking options here if you are interested and love to drive. If you're the type who loves public transportation, consider taking the necessary transportation options to get you to here in Irvine and then to Handel's Ice Cream shop. It's in a cozy part of the shopping center destination. Kinda funny how there's an ice cream shop here and a McDonald's next door. Maybe I guess McDonald's ice cream doesn't compare to Handel's and it's homemade ice cream and it's many flavors to choose from. And so, consider yourself informed that Handel's homemade ice cream shop is good for your soul. If you're ever in the Irvine area and need your ice cream daily fix, consider coming over to this part of Irvine and get in what you need the most. I guarantee it. One of the better ones I've had in a while. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+
