    kinder Brown Butter Vanilla Cone

This ice cream shop serves a fusion of asian flavors and they are not afraid to make the flavors pop out. The line can almost always get long , but that's just the nature too also that the store is quite small. There is seating outside and they also allowed me to bring my doggo in which is always a plus! I got the kinder ice cream in the brown butter cone. I am not a fan of asian flavors but I have tried almost all their basic (non rotating) flavors and they are good for someone who prefers that flavor profile :')

A specialty ice cream shop that's more on the expensive side, but they offer unique flavors that are often Asian-inspired! I've tried a couple flavors from this spot, with some hits and misses. I was excited to try the Hokkaido milk flavor, but it was weirdly buttery and I couldn't finish it. This time, I tried the new signature flavor, brown butter cookie dough, and it was very decadent and the cookie dough added a great texture. I also appreciate their monthly seasonal flavors, and for May I tried the genmaicha rice krispie. It has a milder taste than matcha, with a nice roasted flavor. The server let us sample multiple flavors before ordering, which was great because they have a lot of flavors I haven't tried before. Inside they have bar stools, and there's also outdoor patio seating. Overall, I don't think I would come here regularly because of the high prices, but it was a nice treat.

Back during the peak of COVID, when we were all sheltering at home, I immediately said "yes" when one of my friends asked if I wanted to get in on a shipment of Wanderlust's ice cream. Admittedly, I didn't know anything about this place, but it was enough that A) she recommended it and B) it gave me something to look forward to during such a dreary time. Verdict? While acknowledging that point B) might have colored things, it was good enough for me to know that I needed to check them out in person...and come back a few more times for more! Stepping inside, the first thing that struck me was how small the space is and how effectively they use it. Inside, the decor is cute and they manage to squeeze in an ordering kiosk and some stools/counter seating. The fit is a bit tight, but there are more stools outside and the complex has a bunch of tables sprinkled about. More importantly, just one look at their display case of ice cream is enough to understand why Wanderlust is so popular - their collection of Asian-inspired flavors is incredibly unique. What's more, along with their slate of signature staples, every month brings with it a new set of seasonal/featured flavors that are just as original! -- JAPANESE NEAPOLITAN - Matcha, Sakura (Japanese Cherry Blossom), and Hokkaido Milk Ice Creams Of the flavors I had shipped, this was my favorite and it delivered yet again. The Hokkaido milk tasted so creamy, the sakura was flavorful yet not too floral, and the matcha was so good, I would've been happy with just a scoop of that. -- STICKY RICE & MANGO with Housemade Rice Milk, Coconut Cream, and Swirls of Alphonso Mango Another flavor I had shipped and also just as good as before! While I do wish the taste of mango in this was stronger, I love how well the taste of coconut rice comes across. Plus, you can hardly tell it's vegan! -- UBE MALTED CRUNCH - Malted Milk Ice Cream with Sweet Purple Yams and Crunchy Malted Milk Pieces Between the ube and the malted milk, this had an earthy nuttiness that was both tasty and made this seem less sweet than the others we've had. A nice twist from other ube ice creams I've had! -- SEOUL BANOFFEE PIE - Banana Milk Ice Cream, Roasted Barley-Hojicha-Mocha Dulce de Leche, and Misugaru Shortbread Crumble One of my favorite flavors I've had here! Although I didn't get a ton of the crumble in my scoop, what I did get was great and I loved how well the banana milk and dulce de leche mixed together! -- LOLO'S COFFEE MANGOSTEEN - Coffee Ice Cream with Caramelized Mangosteen This didn't seem all that special compared, but mostly because I loved the Banoffee Pie that much. Mangosteens don't usually do much for me, but the fact it was caramelized, and the coffee ice cream, made this a winner for me. -- BLACK SESAME HK TOAST - Buttered Toast Ice Cream with Black Sesame Ribbons and Condensed Milk Fudge Sadly, not quite as good as I had hoped for. While I very much enjoyed how this recreated the flavors of the buttered toast from HK cafes, the black sesame in this felt really subtle (to be fair, I always want more black sesame). -- PASSIONFRUIT CACAO - Dairy-Free Ice Cream with Passionfruit, Coconut, Cocoa Butter, and Raw Cacao Ehh...this was just okay. The passionfruit was nice, and the cacao and cocoa butter were decent, but it was very apparent this is vegan, as it couldn't emulate a creaminess like how how the Sticky Rice and Mango did. -- OOLONG PINEAPPLE CAKE - Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Ice Cream with Housemade Caramelized Pineapple Jam and Buttery Shortbread Crumbles Understandably, this was sweeter than the others, but I can't I minded either - this was great! I like how bursts of oolong would pop up, as well as the shortbread, and complement the pineapple jam so well! -- ISPAHAN - Lychee Ice Cream Freckled with Rose-Scented Valrhona Raspberry Inspiration Chocolate I had no idea this was named after a French pastry, but I do know that this was AWESOME! The ice cream had a nice punch of lychee, but not to the point of overwhelming the chocolate and raspberry. YUM! -- BLACK SESAME COOKIES N CREAM - White Chocolate & Black Sesame Ice Cream with Cookies N Cream Clusters I finally got around to trying this one and I'm glad I did. Even though I wish this had more black sesame as well, I liked how it paired with the white chocolate to reinforce that classic cookies n cream taste! In nearly every way, Wanderlust is just about the perfect ice cream shop. Sure, you could argue that the prices are a bit higher than other shops out there, but I'm willing to pay a smidge more to get a whole more in return. Unique and original flavors, creamy and well made ice cream, and super friendly service. Plus, with how nice the weather always seems to be in Irvine, every night is a perfect night to come here! FOUR AND A HALF STARS for one or two of their flavors falling a little short, but rounded up because it's more than made up for by so many others!

Love this spot for Asian inspired ice cream flavors! They have unique flavors monthly, and we loved the Sakura flavor they had this month! They also allow for samples at the front before you decide which ice cream you want.

We highly recommend the tasting trio at Wanderlust Creamery; it's a great value and a fun way to try three unique flavors. We ordered the ube malted crunch, sticky rice & mango, and black sesame cookies & cream. The flavors were creative, but the ice cream itself didn't have strong flavor, and the ube malted crunch and sticky rice & mango were too sweet for us. Still worth trying though!

WANDERLUST CREAMERY @ IRVINE The pandan and mango sticky rice ice cream was super super yummy. It's a small place to have seating and kind of pricey but overall good. We ordered on the kiosk, it came out like in one minute. Overall would go again!

Staff here have been consistently friendly and welcoming. I've only come here a few times when I want to spoil myself and it's usually in the evenings on weekdays, which is usually pretty quiet. Of course it gets busy during the day and weekends when it's warm. I was happy that they brought this creamery to Irvine because beforehand I would make the drive to Venice if I had the time. The flavors have been consistent with their other locations - unique, flavorful and creamy. I really love that their flavors are from around the world, which makes them different from other ice cream shops that I'm aware of. I also LOVE their ube waffle cones! The only thing that I'm actually devastated and disappointed about is that they use to offer split scoops, which was 2 half scoops of different flavors. This was my GO TO order because I can enjoy 2 of my favorite flavors without being overwhelmed with the amount. This also made them different from other ice cream shops. Now they only offer single, double, and sampling trio. How can I finish 2 FULL scoops on my own? Unfortunately this is why I can't give full 5 stars.

Wanderlust Creamery is such a cute spot with super unique, travel-inspired flavor. We got the Kyoto Dark Chocolate (rich, slightly smoky, not too sweet) and the Hawaiian Mango Bread (creamy, tropical, with soft bread-like bits. So good!). Both were smooth, flavorful, and not heavy at all. If you're into trying fun, elevated flavors, this place is 100% worth it. Will be back!

The place is conveniently located in walnut village center, there's a trade Joe's and Starbucks in the same plaza. Parking is to the side and can get a little cramped but there's more parking around the surrounding areas and you can just do a quick walk. The place is very clean and there's some chairs you can sit at but not a lot. The unique seasonal flavors is what makes this place super worth it. This season we tried the Sakura crunch and this banana matcha Japanese inspired one. Sooooo good highly recommend both!! The ube cone is worth it too, do the splurge, it literally tasted like a Ube cookie in a cone. Despite the place getting busy Julina was very helpful having us sample a couple flavors. We also were greeted by the manager Jen, she was very kind and patient with me and my family. Everyone was just super sweet and nice! We will be coming back, my kids loved it!!

My new favorite ice cream spot in OC! Their flavors are so unique there are so many choices! I had the pandan tres leches and it blew my mind! I love the pandan cake chunks and condensed milk pieces.

Must visit if you're looking for unique Asian-inspired ice cream flavors. They are incredibly generous with their samples so you can try a variety of options before committing to a scoop...or two! I tried the seasonal Sakura Crunch with cherry blossom-infused ice cream with strawberry pieces and matcha kit kat chunks.

    Nancy L.

Wanderlust Creamy is very cutely decorated and there are so many good Asian flavors. The staff was really nice and let us sample many different flavors. We got 3 flavors to try - passionfruit cacao, ube and black sesame. The passionfruit was sour and flavorful, ube and sesame were really good too. This plaza is very busy so finding parking took awhile but it's definitely worth coming!

I love a good Asian inspired ice cream & this place does it well! I loved their vast selection of flavors, I wish I could've tried them all! My favorite was the Pandan tres leches, black sesame cookies & cream & the peach mango royale. I will definitely be coming back to try more flavors!

Since this is an established chain, I was already familiar with the quality of the ice cream, and the product itself did not disappoint. Unfortunately, the service at this particular location could use improvement. There were mistakes with both our order and the payment, which required the ice cream to be remade and the transaction to be processed again. Mistakes are understandable, but I was surprised to see an employee forcefully throw the incorrectly prepared ice cream into the trash in front of customers. The way the situation was handled came across as unnecessarily unprofessional. One feature I really appreciated was the small plate attached to the cone, which made it much easier to catch drips and avoid a mess. Overall, the ice cream was good and the location is convenient, but the service experience fell short of what I would expect from this chain.
