If you want quality ingredients I would not recommend this restaurant. I normally only write good reviews and if food was okay I just don't write a review but this place should be rated accordingly. As you walk in, you see cracker wrappers all over the floor. There is no full bar even though they have a bar layout adjacent to the restaurant. The service was friendly but seemed lost when asked about GF cross contamination and seasonings. For a starter you get crackers in plastic sleeve and a side of Cuban spread. It's a very cheap presentation. I normally take photos when food looks delicious but food was so meteoric looking that I didn't take pics before starting to eat. We ordered veggies as a side for an entree and got literally frozen veggies from a bag that were thrown on the grill but still included the water from the frozen bag. We ordered a Mahi and it was over cooked, dry, and stiff. We also ordered rice and shrimp and the rice was soggy thought the flavor was good but was still missing more seafood taste and garlic. They also deep fry fish. They bread it heavily and then fried it. It looked like KFC in a size of a thick steak. Horrible presentation. The food was so greasy too. Especially their plantains. The only thing that was enjoyable was the calamari. This place also doesn't let you pay until after they pick up the plates. I've never experienced that before. It was the strangest thing. We were looking forward to trying a new seafood spot that we had seen on social media, but as usual don't believe all the hype you read online. This restaurant is an old time extremely casual spot. The menu looked interesting, but we were there for lunch, so we ordered accordingly. To start with they brought out a small cup of fish dip with some saltine crackers that was tasty and a nice touch. We also had Conch Fritters that did actually have conch in them and were served with a spicy orange sauce. I would have preferred cocktail sauce, but the fritters were very good regardless. Next came the Minuta sandwiches which are served on fresh round Cuban bread rolls. We ordered ours with lettuce, tomato, and onion. You get two pieces of fish and the first bite in seemed good, crunchy fish with tartar sauce served on the side, but just a few bites later you realize what a low-quality fish they are serving in this sandwich. Not only that the fish was greasy and overly breaded. I am used to eating fish sandwiches in the Florida Keys or at Bahama Fish on SW 8th Street, so I am used to better quality and to be kind these didn't measure up. I saw other people eating what looked like arroz con mariscos and that looked good. I might try that in the future but could never eat fried fish there again. The conch fritters were so good so I can't understand how they managed to screw up the fish so much other than that they used low quality fish and not the freshest. I cannot recommend this restaurant but wouldn't tell you not to try their paella and the conch fritters were the best part of our visit here. read more

This is my go to for a cheap quick meal. My Spanish is rusty, let's just say non existent and the wait staff's English is sinking to. But I'm always able to order what I want to eat without a hitch. The have numbers on the menu and I can say those. You get a decent amount of food fir around $6-8 bucks. I haven't ventured to the paella or any of the more expensive dishes but trust me I will. Seafood Wednesday with my business clients in Hialeah, Florida takes us to this small family owned restaurant called Le Minutera Seafood. At first glance I notice a little window on outside of building with people ordering Cuban coffee and take out and once inside a long counter with people eating lunch and I figured we walked into wrong place. We were met by a friendly hostess that guided us to the other side of wall and there it was full blown restaurant with table service. Their menu had a good assortment of seafood from soups, ceee che, fried & grilled fish, and also some chicken and steak dishes all with two sides. We ordered fritura de bacalao as appetizer that was very good and I ordered grilled snapper with vegetables and side salad.and was all fresh and delicious. Portions were quite large so there was no room for dessert. What a lovely place to eat. Great Cuban atmosphere. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and we were craving some fish. For an appetizer we ordered the calamari. The dish was fresh and tasty. We would order again and recommend. It was lightly fried and the homemade dipping sauce was great. We both ordered grouper. I had mine grilled with mash potatoes and white rice. The grouper was good but didn't jump out and wow me. Maybe needed a touch more seasoning. The mashed potatoes weren't the best but the rice was wonderful. Big portions for only $13. Excellent value. My wife had the garlic grouper. This was outstanding. Her sides were yellow rice and plantains. 5 stars for each item and again well worth the price. * I put some of the garlic on the rice and it blew my mind! Service was stellar. A lot of people love this place and I wanted to give it a try. I had the paella especial but did not find it was that special, the rice was a little bit undercooked and the flavor was ok. It had some fish chunks that were too fishy in taste (I love fish but this chunks had an overly salty taste to it). My 6-year old nephew had some chicken fingers that were not very good, he did not eat them and after trying them I don't blame him, they were tough and chewy. I was startled with their food and service. It all started with one of their flyers and ended up with me ordering food (for delivery) for around 12 of my coworkers, all at the same time, by phone. They gave me an estimate time for delivery and our food arrived at that specific time, which was quite impressive considering the size and variety of the order. I had their 'camarones enchilados' with black beans, plantains, and a side of tostones. It was so toothsome, great portions as well. Some days you get those pleasant surprises from the most unexpected places.I am a fan of seafood. You say lobster, I say langosta.. Located in a small shopping plaza along West 29th Street and 2nd Avenue, this restaurant occupies a corner spot easily visible from the road. It's easy to recognize the green and yellow facade from the road. The decor will remind you of those divey little places that serve quick food cheap. It is dated, but somehow it works for this place. Most of the art on the walls depicts scenes out of old Cuba. The wallpaper is a mix of old advertising. I loved it! Looking at the menu, it is easy to understand. My only concern was that the specials are all the way in the back and not up front as in most other restaurants. Other than that, the multi page, laminated menu is easy to navigate. If you get a little lost, the friendly wait staff will guide you. All the specials are accompanied by two sides (usually rice and sweet fried plantains). Additional specials are listed on a board near the fish display at the back ofnthe restaurant, and the waiters will tell you what the freshest fish is available that day. As my luck would have it, I was having lunch with a good friend who agreed to accompany me on this adventure. Between the two of us, we ordered three appetizers (conch fritters, cod fritters, and cheviche), three entrees (minuta con pan, minuta al plato with yellow rice and fried plantains and grilled shrimp), and dessert (tres leches). We both agreed that the food was fresh and well presented. My friend who is skeptical about seafood declared it the best ceviche he's had in a long time. That says a lot! Being locals we get wind of the scuttlebut about many restaurants we go to. In this case, the word on the street wasn't very good. After this experience, we both couldn't understand it. The food is fresh, the ambiance is pleasant, and the restaurant is clean and presentable. We encourage you to try it and spread the word. Overall it was a good experience and a good bargain. This is as local as it gets -harkens back to the Miami I grew up in. My father recalls coming to a restaurant here when he was in high school back in the sixties & although it wasn't named the same, it was a Cuban Seafood restaurant that could very well have been related. My father had un Filete de Pargo Empanizado (Breaded & Fried Red Snapper Filet) with yellow rice & maduros. I had the "Filete de Dorado al Ajillo" (Pan fried Mahi in olive oil & garlic) with white rice & maduros. Everything was delicious & our waiter was super nice & attentive. Really makes you want to come back. We finished the meal off with 2 cafécitos and went home very happy and satusfird. The only readon I did not give the 5 stars is because the complimentary fish paste(?) brought as soon as we sat down was awful! I truly thought it was bocadito spread! i haven't eaten pork in over 12 years so I was close to having a breakdown until the waiter clarified it was fish... For a restaurant who specializes in fresh fish to serve a fish dip that tasted of pimento ham is bizarre but definitely NOT a deterrent from returning again & again! read more

It's a little restaurant hidden inside of a shopping center. This is one of those "don't judge a book by its cover" type of places. They might not look too appealing, but the food makes up for the outdated appeal. Aside from their wide variety of fresh fish, They make the best fried yuca I've ever had. Crispy on the outside and superrrr soft on the inside, it's just perfect. Same thing goes for their frituras de malanga. On to the dessert! Completely out of left field for me. Came here with the family on mother's day....weird. This place would not be the right place to take your mom out in her day, and it certainly does not give out a great first impression, but after my father spoke highly of it, we had to go and check it out. Let's face it, Hialeah is not the South Florida people flock all over the world to see and experience. Located in corner strip mall along Jose Marti Avenue, is this little local gem of a seafood restaurant. We had to wait an insane amount of time, as the restaurant was filled to capacity (Mother's Day), which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Bad, cause we were starving, but good cause if it's full, it's a sure sign of good food in the belly...and great food it was! I tried the breaded grouper filet, mom and dad tried the grilled version of that, and my fiancee and cousin tried the Paella Valenciana for two. My grouper was packed with flavor and yet at the same time, it was delicate and oh so satisfying. We also ordered some Frituras de Bacalao, which are some conrmeal balls filled with catfish that were a little on the greasy side, but man they were good, especially with a little Tabasco sprinkled on them for good measure. The restaurant is famous for their cheese-tastic Spanish TV commercial and of course their Pan con Minuta, which is a fish sandwich that's mad cheap ($3.95 at the time of this writing) and supposedly very tasty. (I might come back and order one up at the counter, just for curiosity's sake) Overall, the experience is a great one. If you're in an adventurous mood to try something a little outside of your comfort zone, I suggest you give em a shot. You really can't go wrong here.
