We came to this park because it's large and wanted to check if it would be a good spot for photos. I loved how open it felt and that there were tons of activities going on. There are multiple baseball fields as well as a disc golf course, which was cool to see. Another big plus is that parking is free and plentiful! read more

La Mirada Community Park in La Mirada, California has a really lively and refreshing atmosphere that I enjoyed when I visited with someone. I saw a lot of teenagers there, and the whole place feels energetic in a way that teenagers would love. The open fields, walking areas, and places to sit don't cost anything at all, which makes it easy to relax and have fun without needing a plan. I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and saw how naturally welcoming the park feels. It surprised me how comfortable it was to just be there without feeling rushed. Even though it's just a community park, it gives teenagers a great place to hang out, take pictures, play sports, or just be creative outdoors. I only visited La Mirada Community Park one time in my life before making this review, but it ended up being one of the most relaxed and youthful places I've been to in a long time. I never doubted that the experience would turn out the way I hoped it would. I've lived for 24 years, but in the summer of 2024 I learned that I'm still physically and mentally 18 years old, and that my prefrontal cortex is more developed than the average 25‑year‑old's. Maybe that's why I connect so much with places that feel playful and full of energy. I would highly recommend that teenagers go to this park because it gives them a fun, open space to enjoy themselves and feel creative. read more

Such a beautiful park with high frequencies! From watching ducks till beautiful sunrise was beyond our expectations! There is a plenty of free parking lots close by tennis courts! Great place to go for picnic, fishing (which it has limit of 5 and no fishing after dark). There are also great amount of disk golf basket and it's promising a great time in this location! Its pretty walkable park and its hard to not enjoy the beautiful weather and view. Today there were many people fishing and enjoying their time! Also we met lot of dogs in the park! Poor ducks were panicking all the time! Overall, the view is great and you can come here for walking, playing tennis, Playing disc golf basket or even jogging or running! I recently visited this park and thought it was very nice. There's a little manmade lake that was a nice walking path and then there were two (that I found) playground areas that both were suitable for toddlers. There were swings in both locations and a slide. Overall the playground area was fine, nothing too amazing. There were tennis courts and plenty of parking so that was nice. The park also backs up to a water park that had a ton of people so that was fun to look at too. All in all this park was fine. read more

What doesn't this park have?! There are several parking lots where it's free to park. The park includes a beautiful lake with an island, a great backdrop for photos, with a sidewalk path that goes all the way around it. There are two 18 hole disc golf courses (a front 18 and a back 18); there are several playgrounds for kids, a lot of tennis courts, a handful of pickleball courts and handball courts; 4 softball fields; a few large picnic areas with benches, and several benches all around the lake and throughout the park. Additionally, there is a gymnasium (for a fee) and even a waterpark!(for a fee) it is across from an 18 hole golf course and has a lot of restaurants nearby. Free parking!!!!!! Plenty of tennis courts!! There are even pickleball courts. The pickleball courts were open and free to use. There were lines and people were very respectful + nice. There were a total of 4 pickleball courts and I noticed some pickleball players using the empty tennis courts to just practice. This park is so cool where it has disc golf. Disc golf is a lot of fun! It reminds me of frisbee and miniature golf combined. You need to bring your own discs to throw in.. which are the plastic small frisbee looking things. I would love to give it a five star review but the water is consistently dirty and sometimes smells. I walk my dog very frequently here and the park is well maintained. There's a beautiful lake with wildlife where people find to fish. The park has gazebos that can be rented for parties and tennis and pickle ball courts. There's baseball diamonds and an indoor gym with plenty of parking and a frisbee golf course. Beautiful and spacious park. There is no parking fee and there is a man made lake. There are also a plethora of tennis courts. There are also a total of four pickleball courts. Three courts that are open play and one court that is a challenge court. Courts are very well maintained and have permanent nets. Everyone was respectful and courteous. Great time playing here. Lights are also good for when it gets dark. People will also set up their own courts on the side to practice or play with friends. Will definitely come back! read more

My friend took up disc golf and invited me to join him. It was my first disc golf experience. La Mirada Regional Park takes disc golf seriously. All the holes are well marked and it's not difficult to fine the tee box, although the tee boxes on the sidewalk are not easy to see since most of the paint has been rubbed off. It would only take a few minutes to paint them on again. I wish they would. There are two 18 hole courses, Lake, and Back. I took the Back course without water since I don't like losing my discs. It's a beautiful course. The grass is well maintained. It's literally a walk in the park! We were there at 7AM on a Wednesday. Lots of the course was wet, and we had to dodge a few sprinklers, which meant wet shoes, muddy discs, and soiled floormats on my car when I was done. Still, this is a really nice place to play disc golf. My friend says people drive a long way to play here, and best of all...it's free!! It was my first round ever, but it won't be my last, and yes, I will drive an hour to play there again...and again!! read more

I was looking up duck parks to allow the girls to feed. I found this on yelp but when we arrived, I saw the signs for no feeding. We just ended up tossing the burger buns since no other local parks allow feeding. The park is huge, well maintained and has a wonderful playground for kids. It overlooks the pond area and it is very relaxing at sunset. My girls greatly enjoyed the short, hilly hikes and had fun on the playground. I will come back to this park when I am available on the weekends. read more

This park is beautiful! It's about 25 minutes from my house, but I gladly make the trip out to this park to play pickleball. The courts are new as of a few months ago, and they are near the tennis courts. There are four courts, two are together and the other two are divided by a net. I've been during the week and on the weekends and you can pick up some good games and it's not overly crowded. There was only one time that I went where I had to wait a while in between games, but I haven't had that issue as of late. All players are very friendly and inviting, so don't be intimidating if you show up by yourself. The one thing I will say is that I wish they had some court playing rules to help establish a good rotating system. Right now, you place your paddles next to whichever court you want to challenge. I don't think you can do four at a time to rotate into a court, I believe people generally agreed to do two at a time, which I think is challenging for a group of friends that go to play together. It's something the city should consider because it's hard for new players that visit to figure out how to get some playing time. Other aspects of the park are great as well. There are also plenty of tennis courts, baseball/softball field, exercise stations, and a great walking path with some hill incline. The bathrooms also have toilet seat covers and soap, which sounds like it should be standard, but you'd be surprised by some other parks that don't have either. I love this park. read more

This review is for the playground next to the tennis courts and most easily accessed from the end of the parking lot off of Adelfa Street. Playground is fully bark, with a ramp entrance on the north side. It's large with plenty of space for creativity. Two baby/toddler swings are present but no swings for older kids. There are shade coverings over the playground but still lots of sun. Unfortunately there are only two full sun benches (there are also too picnic tables nearby) - it could really use another 6+ benches to surround the perimeter. Trash cans are open and the squirrels are bold. Be watchful with your littles. read more

Being a swim-parent has expanded my exploration of cities I previously didn't frequent. While I've driven through La Mirada a few times on my way somewhere else... and I think I bought a pet snake here from a resident when I was a kid... I haven't had many occasions to hang out here. With several swim meets hosted at Splash Aquatic, and a long wait between events, I had the opportunity to wander around the adjacent La Mirada Regional Park. As indicated by other reviews, the grounds are expansive, with various amenities including fields, disc golf course, picnic facilities, a small "lake" stocked for fishing and occupied by various waterfowl, and of course, the Splash water park. Walking/jogging trails circumnavigate and cross the grounds, with plenty of sun and shade trees, depending on your preference. Signage indicating not to feed the ducks and geese is roundly ignored by most, and those feathered critters happily digest what they can from the bread, French fries, and potato chips thrown to them-- then deposit the rest on damn near everything in their path. Nothing too shocking, but it seems to upset some folks a lot more than others. Watch your step, and maybe bring a pack of baby wipes. During the school year, this seems to be a fairly popular respite for La Mirada High School kids and Biola students, both very near the park. Plenty of room here for everyone so spread out, bring a picnic, be kind to others and enjoy yourself. read more

Lots of parking, tennis courts--first come first serve, large jungle gym area so at least 15 kids can be playing Lord of the Flies and still have room to move. For the more "shy" kids, there's swing sets, a teeny "hut", and benches/ play areas under the jungle gym. Frisbee golf is usually going on around the duck pond. Dog doo doo is scarce, so their owners are picking up after their pets. Pets are leashed. Lots of picnic benches and trees to refuel or shade your weary self after chasing kiddos. OK to BBQ; I say bring your own Master grill otherwise you'll have to charcoal up. No cigarette smoking allowed. You'll end up being there for a while because the kid never wants to leave once they "make friends." So bring a snack, beverage, & maybe a blanket to sit on while soaking up the sunshine and giggles. read more

This is one of the closest parks to us. We are either here or at Vista Del Valle Park in La Habra just to keep Ian engaged and not get bored of the park. Pros: We have been here for many summer weekend events, July 4th fireworks, Easter egg hunt events etc. The City of La Mirada does a phenomenal job organizing all these events (+2) Ample parking (+1) The park has a very wide variety of things to offer to everyone. 2 different play areas for toddlers, and young kids. Tennis courts, BBQ areas, Fishing, baseball playground, some weird racquet/hand ball courts, and a Frisbee golf path all through the park. I had never heard about Frisbee golf until watching people play that here. (+1) Cons: Our only observation is how the toddlers play area has a slope that directly slants into the lake. We have seen many kids wander off and accelerate quickly down the slope. Yes, parents keep an eye on kids, but if there was a barrier here, it would be very safe (-1) read more

Tennis Courts, a swimming pool, racquetball courts, a baseball diamond, a large lake with ducks and geese that you can walk right up, a mini water park with a fifty foot high castle slide, picnic areas..... and, and, and.......wait for it...... 36 HOLES OF FRISBEE GOLF!! This park is near 100 acres! It's insane! I went here with a Frisbee golf nut who has been playing for over 20 years. His enthusiasm overwhelmed me to the point where I actually got out of bed at 6am on a freezing Sunday morning to drive out to meet him in Culver City where we would carpool to La Mirada. We met a buddy of his, and his buddy's son at the park and the four of us spent the next five hours hurling discs thousands of feet over two 18 hole courses. If you want to see this park, the best way to do it is to golf it. If you don't have a disc, stop by the Frisbee golf shop. You can purchase a couple of discs; my buddy suggested a "sidewinder" and a "putter", then make a voluntary donation to the course in a box by the door. That's it. You're a pro and you only spent $22. The shopkeeper is the mellowest guy around. He can answer any questions you have, and they have snacks, Gatorade, etc. and don't forget to grab a map of the course. The front course covers the front part of the park. This area has the duck lake, which is surrounded by benches and lovely viewing areas. It feels private because it's nestled down between several sloping grass and tree-covered hills. The first throw of the course looks down upon the lake. It's 350 feet and 3 pars to the T. After your first throw, you'll start hiking down a bit to the lake. You'll have to jump a couple of concrete rain canals on your way down if you take the grass, or take the 3 foot wide concrete path that snakes around, over hill and dale, trailing out of view and then back into view again over another slope. This path makes it easy to scoot around the park by skate, bike, scooter, pogo stick, unicycle, or whatever else you want to bring on a lovely weekend. But if you are playing Frisbee golf, as Bob Marley would say, "Your feet are your only carriage." (Paraphrased) and you better bring comfortable shoes. Also bring sunblock, and make sure you eat. After 59 throws, you will be tired if you don't know what you're doing like me. Some Advil might be a good idea too. It helps with white hot searing pain in your arm as your hurl not only your disc but every drop of blood in your body into your fingertips while whipping your arm across your body and then spinning for maximum centrifugal force. Again, that's if you don't know what you're doing, because the 10 year old kid behind us didn't seem to have to whirl like a dervish to project his disc, but rather, he nonchalantly rocketed his arm out and set sail his Frisbee 200 feet without batting an eye. If you want to get an idea of what the park looks like, I posted a couple of pics. Some of these T's are dangerously close to the street, and some to the lake. If you bring your kids here, do look out for flying Frisbees and traffic. This park is as safe as any but without proper supervision an accident could easily happen. But that's what's cool about this park. It's like the old days. A little danger you know. It's a good thing. My gang used to climb all over the roofs and set little trash can fires in my park when we were 6 and 7. I digress. When we hit the back course, there was the most amazing sight. A full on waterpark. A fairly small one, but something akin to a small Raging Waters, but with only one very large slide. It was closed for the winter but might be worth a trip in the summer. Especially after 18 holes of Frisbee Golf. If you want to picnic, fly a kite, or just lay on your back and enjoy the sky. This is a good place to come. Do a lot, or do nothing at all. Although it is truly a beautiful park with well manicured lawns, a lovely lake filled with geese and ducks, and a sizable children's playground, it is rather plain. For such a large plot of land (100 acres according to the city website), I would say that a great majority of it is just plain grassy fields. I do fully appreciate that kids can play soccer or baseball games here. There are also tennis courts and I saw a couple of frisbee golf chain-link catchers, but considering the space they have, the park is so very underutilized! I saw one covered picnic area. The kids playground, although large, is located at the top of a hill, on its backside and is very difficult to find if you've never been there. It would have been nice to see multiple smaller playgrounds made available to the little ones who's families are spread throughout the park for different activities. The restrooms, also in the far back area of the lake, reeked of urine and bleach as I walked by. I didn't dare enter. Still, it is a great place to walk your dog, or go for a jog. When I moved to La Mirada, I had no idea where that was and what kind of city it was. I realized that La Mirada has a lot to offer. One this park is amazing. I love the curves of little hills with paved cement to walk on and a lot of grassy areas. I have never seen Frisbee golf in my life and it is something that seems like a lot of people do for fun. Besides having that they have a large tennis court section, also hand ball courts. If you have young lings they do have this cute little play ground that you can let them try and play on. With things that can spin you for it seems like ever and try to climb as high as you can. I'm pretty sure they will enjoy it as much as I did one day ! A lot of people walk their doggies around here and I do that as well but so do walkers and runners use this place. Many people are here and it is pretty fun to just check it out. Oh yea and they do have baseball fields that people play in with their teams at. :) Also it is a place to sit and ponder life and the many situations you get yourself into !! :) read more

Nice park with lots of gree area, benches, tables, bbq grills, 2 playgrounds, fishing lake, tennis courts, disk throwing stations, bathrooms, and lots of hills. This park has an aquatic center as well as a water park so there's always something going on, but parking isn't hard to find. The main playground which is the one closest to the parking lot is usually busy with lots of kiddos climbing, swinging, and sliding. There is also another playground that is not easily visible because it's up the hill that's next to the teaching tennis courts, and this playground surprisingly is a bit more fun in my kids opinion. This place depresses me for some reason. It really shouldn't; there's a Frisbee-golf course, and the trees and little hills are cute. But the sad little pond(s?) really gets to me. It's surrounded completely by concrete, and it may have been drained once or twice when I visited as a child. I remember really wanting to fish here after one of my first trips to Mammoth (I was maybe six), and although my mom dutifully let me bring my toy fishing pole, I was sad. Not because I didn't catch any fish but because it's the most artificial of all artificial bodies of water. The park itself really is nice, though, and there's plenty of room for kids to play. But whenever I think about lovely La Mirada parks, I think of La Mirada Creek Park and also wish that the golf course off of Santa Gertrudes Avenue weren't a golf course because those steep hills would be so much fun to run down--and suicide to roll down. read more

This was a nice park. There's plenty of free parking. If you forget food items there's a Target before you get to the park, LOL. The grounds are pretty with plenty of trees for shade. There are a few mounted picnic tables and a few grills. But mostly you will find grass spaces where you can place your picnic blankets. There are swimming pool, tennis, softball & basketball courts and 36 holes of frisbee golf !! There's a mini water park with a fifty foot high castle slide. The bathrooms are clean but still have an odor. There's a large pond with ducks and geese. Be careful if you feed them. If you run away from them they will run after you. This park is the best! As a college student across the street, it is the cheapest, nicest, and most convenient way to get off campus. It is always very clean and the grass is nice to lay a blanket down in. My only warning is that if you try to feed the ducks they will get very aggressive! My boyfriend and I brought some bread to feed them and they were not hesitant to walk right up and take it straight out of our hands! This park also has a frisbee golf course that is nice to do if you ever just need to get outside and have fun! Went 4 days in a row with kids age 6-15 and they all had a blast. The bathrooms were locked in Saturday and Sunday. The playgrounds: One had all kinds of weird imaginative things for the kids to climb on and play with. The other had smaller things for the little ones and is very well shaded. Had a baby shower here and from the 1st time I placed a call to make a reservation, til the day of the event, it was a breeze. The area that you'd like to reserve has a sign with a number to call and reserve. Placing the reservation was super simple. The day of the event, somebody goes around to all the tables and places a sheet of paper with your reservation name on it so no one else can try and steal your tables. I think I paid a little over $130 for an all-day reservation which isn't bad at all considering my other options. The park itself has a few areas for kids to play on the playground, a lake, and lots of grass for other activities. The bbq area was dirty so I just recommend you bring a grill cleaner and maybe a lemon or oil to clean the grates. Overall, it's a great park and I was satisfied with everything. read more
