I first visited La Mirada Creek Park some 25 plus years ago as a kid and it remained a fond memory. I began a cardio regimen now in my 30s and the nostalgia of this park has me back. Great park except they have the scooter police. I took my niece and nephew and some lady stopped them and told them they couldn't ride it in the park. That they would get a ticket. I sent them back out and no issues. Beautiful park great for walking or a picnic, etc. read more

I bring my dog here for his daily walk, the park is very well maintained and tranquil. The restrooms are clean and grass area always appears very well manicured. I come around lunch time since I work from home and it's normally very quiet. Its just a great park to get away, get some sun, and enjoy a nice walk with Vinny!! Love it here!! read more

1st time visiting this park - the address I went off led to being off golden lantern st which led to street parking in a quiet residential area - there are 2 free parking lots at the top and bottom of the loop/ park (lemon and Santa Gertrudes) Park is open clean and clear with plenty of grass and trees - la mirada creek runs through the park and there are plenty spaced out bridges Dog friendly with plenty of poop bags Plenty of spaced out benches to sit and relax and admire the view Took about 25 minutes to go around with my dog sniffing and it was under a mile Great for running jogging walking Stroller friendly A set of restrooms are located in the middle of the park There is one slope not terribly steep And set of stairs / pathway from one of the parking lots A few storks in the water area and a few rabbits spotted along with other birds. Do you want a small park to go for an easy stroll? La Mirada Creek Park could be the park you are looking for. Been here in the past a few times. Once was for a family photo shoot. The pictures came out great for that photo session. Most recent visit was for an easy stroll. I've been trying to do a minimum of 10,000 steps every single day. Walking around this park helped me acheive my goal for that day. There is a nice paved path to walk along. One lap around is about 2000 steps for me. After 5 trips, I had completed my 10000 steps. The park is not fancy, but it is pleasant. Lots of trees provide some shade. Plenty of green grass. There are benches situated around the paved path so you can sit and rest for awhile. There is even a little equestrian area. One gentleman was riding his horse while I was strolling. Make sure you follow all rules, and keep this pretty park clean!! Thank you. read more

Went to this park to take holiday photos but will definitely come back for a stroll! I noticed it gets pretty busy around sunset on the weekends but still spacious where you can keep your distance. Lots of grass for dogs to do their business or for you and the kids to sit and have a picnic. Looks well maintained. Unsure if the parking lot I was in is the only one but it's fairly small. Still was able to find parking and I'm believe you can park on the streets a little further down and get your steps in. read more

Cute little park hidden in residential area. Walked around the whole park in 20 mins, saw families having picnics and enjoying the shade. While walking I saw several squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits hopping around. When you get to the end of the trail there is a horse corral. This is a nice 1 mile walk/ run. You won't find any playground, basketball courts/ tennis courts/ swimming pool, or BBQ so it is not the typical park. Hours are limited, but it is nicely utilized green belt / space in-between the residential areas. There is parking on both ends of the park and a peaceful creek that flows through. You may even have a chance to hear chickens or see a horse nearby. Only annoyance I have is pet owners don't appear to pick up after their pets!!! Come on, I'm sure you flush your own toilets when you're at home. Treat public property with respect. read more

This is a nice park we loved coming to because it was not busy and parking is always available even though it's not very big. It's actually kinda hidden nestled deep in the residential area surrounded by nice housing. It is full of many trees that are well kept offering lots of shade to sit under. We picnicked often here sometimes ate dinner here after work to have a nice view. It's paved and there are several ppl who walk for the exercise or walk their dogs. We enjoy throwing balls, frisbee or kicking the soccer ball. Good place to train the basic skills to my son. It's not the kind of park you can bring a bbq to but it is quaint enough for families to come and hang out. There are restrooms but they are in the middle of the park. We usually pick a spot fairly close in the event it is needed. The creek.... well, it's not much of creek most of the time but when it rains it's nice. If it rained hard, you may not want to get too close. Watching the sun go down, during the golden hour, it's like magic everything comes alive with the color. So Beautiful. read more

This is a great park! Spacious and green. Great for training my puppy to hike and try different terrain. The ducks, creek and variety of smells are endless entertainment for him. He's reactive (gets too excited) when seeing other dogs, but this place is spacious enough for peaceful walks and encounters. I am comfortable enough to have him run around, all smiles, safely on a long leash (20ft) with no problems. Highly recommend this park. read more

I'll give it an average rating! Three stars for me means "I'm satisfied enough to return and it served it's purpose! Well at least in this situation.... Located off of Santa Gertrudes! There is a small parking lot that always has enough parking for anyone that wants to get in and out fast! It has a path that goes around the whole park which makes it nice if you plan to jog a few laps or stroll around after dinner! There are steps the you can climb to add to your walk for that extra calorie burn! Squirrels galore! They are everywhere! In hole, on a pole, on a tree, they don't flee! Don't get near, they have no fear!! :) ..... other than that, it's a nice little park! I wouldn't have a party here but a picnic with the little ones? Yes! This park is almost like Wonderland something so strange and unique that it doesn't seem real to be in it at all. I dearly love it for this reason. Many people might not have been here and might not even know where La Mirada is. But if you were to try to figure this city out, you should come to this place. It is filled with many little small animals running around near the creek. This place isn't a huge park nor a medium size one. It is rather small in size but large in making you feel like your living in a different place. Come here to dream, relax and just enjoy the quietness is always fun. I've seen people come with their children, elders, loved ones and just about everyone is a nice person that will greet you with warmth and love. Something that you won't be able to find on a freeway stuck in traffic. Also the neighbors that live right next to the park have little mini farms with tons of different and unique animals as well such as mini horses, peacock and chickens. If it wasn't for La Mirada Creek Park, I'd have nowhere vaguely nature-ish to go in my neighborhood. This place is more than just a flat expanse of grass. It's small, but it has a lovely creek with ducks and a strand of trees. There is family of squirrels, a wide space for kids and dogs to run, horses riding by and picnic tables by the creek. There are usually a few parents with small kids, a couple people lying in the grass on their lunch break, people walking their dogs, etc. Nearby are a few businesses and a lunchtime cafe, some apartments, and the garden of a school or something. This park is within a residential area, you can see back yards and some are horse properties. The park itself has a few ducks and a creek flowing through the center, end to end. Creek Park is a hidden gem is nested in a quiet neighborhood. Is the perfect setting for a peaceful walk, run, exercise, relax, or enjoy a family picnic. We find a wooden stairs they are from the top of the parking lot to the lush green grass area on the eastern end we find a fire ring and an amphitheater by Santa Gertrudes Av. As we walked to the middle there are wooden bridges, keep walking on the western side there are the horse trails by the beautiful ranch homes, there is an incline to the top that completes the rectangular loop. The park is clean and well maintained. It has a lush green grass, rolling landscape and beautiful big trees that create some welcome shade specially on hot days. All of that brings a sense of calmness, happiness and stress relieving as well as good exercise. Also, it offers great spots for photo sessions, wedding parties being photographed here, couples, even families. There are like minded people that are walking, exercising, or walking their dogs all the folks are always friendly. Come over for stroll you'll enjoy the experience come over often to create your experience and memory. P.S The amphitheater accommodates 65 people is open to the public by reservation. Has a creek running right through the center with bridges going over in different spots throughout the park. No play ground here, but plenty of grass area for a picnic or just to hangout for the day. My car was broken into here! Middle of the day middle of the parking lot. I went for a run and came back 45 mins later to a smashed in window and stolen purse/wallet. The park itself is nice I just highly recommend to not park your car there. Sometimes there is sketchy people that hang around there too. read more
