    Food is not overpriced either

It is in a posh location with many other restaurants along the same street. My friend and I decided to give this one a try and was rather disappointed. Whenever I experience poor service, I don't blame the waiters but the manager, because he/she didn't train and manage the staff sufficiently. After ordering a G/T while waiting for my friend to arrive, another waiter asked me if I wanted a drink. In a proper restaurant there should be sufficient internal communication to avoid this. The food, braised ox tail which I was told a Madrid specialty, was mediocre. Honestly I cook more tasty ox tail. He didn't give me the correct cutlery for the main until I asked otherwise I had to eat with the best knife and the tiny salad fork! The problem was towards the latter part of the dinner, the waiter cleared my friends players while I was still eating! And asked me 3 times if I have finished!! My ox tail was only half way through and I didn't put my knife and fork together, a simple and clear sign of finishing the food. It's not particular late that he was rushing to go home. There were still 70% of the customers at the restaurant so they didn't need to kick us out and make space either. The plus side is that the wine list is about 15 page long and reasonably priced. The street is hustling with well dressed people so it's a nice spot for people watching. The outdoor seats are very pleasant. As long as you stick with the winner and olives, it's still a nice spot for a glass.

Interesting concept for a restaurant, but ultimately I felt that the experience and taste fell a…read morebit short, especially for a Michelin star restaurant. In terms of food, there were some great components--the snout was super tender and the sauce that came with it was very flavorful. However, I found that some of the other dishes were chewy in texture, and that the refinement of the flavorful was lacking for a menu of this price. The idea of using offal for dessert is certainly interesting, but it felt like they were adding ingredients for the sake of creativity, and felt like they didn't actually belong in the dish. I had an early reservation compared to local dining habits, so the restaurant was very empty during my dinner. This probably contributed somewhat to the service feeling a bit uncomfortable, but overall it was a bit cold and it felt like the staff were staring me down as I ate my meal.

But most of them average a months pay but this one is only a little expensive (under 200 Euro for two). We were able to make reservations on their website, it's very close to the Nuevos Minesterios Metro station, though you need to pay attention to signs, that is a huge station. Near a beautiful high end shopping mall if you need a Rolex or the like. When we got to the restaurant it seemed oddly familiar, yes we knew it from Eva Longoria's travel through Spain limited series. In the Madrid episode she looked like she really enjoyed the food here in spite of the fact that it is locally sourced offal. Of course she's an actress but it turns out she wasn't acting, the chef is a brilliant creative Spanish chef who has been inspired by traditional rural cooking from poor areas that learned to make every part of farm animals and weeds taste good. The many courses sound pretty scary but try to ignore what they are made of and savor the unique complex flavors, it's ecstasy. Unlike high class restaurants in the States, a couple of glasses of good wine will not significantly add to the bill. Don't fill up on the delicious bread. Even dessert was a complicated combination of flavors I've never encountered and I've eaten a lot of different meals around the world. Every course was a work of art, visually and to taste. A place like this is why I don't like to dole out 5 star reviews like that's the norm. This is a definite 5 YELP star dining experience. The chef and many of the staff from the television show were here, his book is for sale and he will autograph it. However if it puts you even a kilo over your luggage limit, TAP Air Portugal will nail you with a 100 Euro fee.

Ambience- cozy place with good indoor and outdoor seating. We chose indoor as the weather is cold today. Service was excellent, so nice! Food- first they brought out hot baguettes! Hubby was in heaven. He had the French onion soup and loved it! We shared the patacones (please excuse spelling). These are crispy delicious plantain pancakes served with avocado, crème fraiche and feta. So good!! I had Ghandi chicken salad that came with banana bread and greens. Beautiful presentation and tasted delicious. So glad we got a chance to try this place before we leave Madrid. Highly recommend!!

It instantly took me back to Venezuela, where I had it many times growing up -- pure comfort food, the kind that brings memories with every bite. The tequeños were light and crispy, not oily, and clearly made with care. The numpias were another favorite, crunchy, flavorful, and even better dipped in soy sauce, which adds a subtle Asian twist without taking away from what makes them special. The sliders were just ok. What truly completes the experience is the attention. It's warm, natural, and welcoming, making you feel at home without trying too hard. Murillo Café delivers authenticity, nostalgia, and genuinely good food.
