Outstanding dining experience. The drinks are incredible and unique, and the food is exceptional. Each dish was amazing--the fried eggplant with honey foam was creative, the tuna carpaccio was out of this world, and their take on beef Wellington was very enjoyable as well.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I was r sure what to expect... When we arrived, we waited a short time to check in with the hostess for the reservation. As we got seated, someone came over with a free tasting of a white wine for the entire table. Our server spoke English and was able to give detailed recommendations and how the food was prepared. The cold tuna appetizer was absolutely perfect. By far one of the best dishes I've ever had. On top of that, the portions were huge. We ordered a salad to share and it was definitely enough to share! The flamenco entertainment was great and they danced in different areas of the restaurant so that even the tables away from the stage could have a good show while they ate. So much fun!

Prepare your phone camera because this is one of the fancier places in Madrid for a nice dinner. It will awe you immediately upon arrival. It's a glamorous and large restaurant with a wonderful ambiance, the place feels chic and refined but still fun. Just be aware that they will rush you out after 2hrs (which seems to be the norm in Madrid) It feels like a party because there's a live band and DJ to make the night more entertaining and festive so expect it to get loud as the night goes on, not much of a place to hold a conversation. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and most of them speak English. It's not only looks because the food does not disappoint but plan on spending significantly big for a premium experience. The menu is extensive and the dishes are more on the upscale side. I can say that everything my group ordered was delicious. They start you with a very nice touch: bread, tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil so you can make your own Pan con tomate. The highlights were the rice with slow-cooked ribs and the Milanese with a poached egg. Highly recommended if you want a unique dinner, perfect for a fun celebration or any memorable occasion, and are willing to spend enough to get the best.

Hip swanky in Madrid. Food was excellent and service top-notch. Make it a 4 hour evening and indulge. We ordered across the menu but our favorites were the iberico ham, the pulpo and the ahi tartare. Service was top notch

Amazing dinner!! We were visiting Madrid and we planned a special dinner to celebrate a milestone birthday. The service was TOP notch and the food was some of the best we had throughout Spain. Great ambience and live music!

Colleagues and I came to get dinner at Tatel on Sunday night. There was a female live singer with a silky amazing voice that was definitely the highlight of the night; everything else about this restaurant (especially the food) was quite forgettable. Atmosphere - very trendy, good looking people, great decor, clean bathrooms Food - as I mentioned, quite forgettable and as a result, I don't remember what we ate. The cocktails were better than the food options here.

Wonderful ambience, music and staff. The food did not disappoint. We had the special roasted artichokes, Iberian flank steak and the truffle risotto. I highly recommend.

One of the fancier places in Madrid for a nice meal. We had to make reservations since it looked like it was fully booked a lot of nights. On the phone they told us we could only have the table for an hour but when we got there and ate they didn't rush us out. One thing I always like to check is the bathrooms for cleanliness and they had spotless bathrooms. This is a little on the pricier side where it was around 20-30 euros for starters. We tried the broke egg with patatas starter which was very good. This is a classic spanish dish. My wife had the filet for dinner and I had the suckling lamb. Filet was cooked perfectly and tasted like good quality. The lamb had a unique flavor with the suckling aspect of it. I know suckling pig is popular but suckling lamb is a little funky. The meal was nice and it was comfortable in there. You will spend a pretty penny for the meal. The question is if it was worth it.... hmm... I personally am not dying to go back but it was good as a one shot deal.

(It s from a video thats why is blurry) Risotto was very good but very small portion so if your very hungry this will not satisfy you.

One of the best place in madrid. Great ambiance and service. The food is exquisite, i personally took the risotto and we shared iberico ham it was delicious. Each table has bread , tomatoes, garlic , oil and a spread as an appetizer to make your own Pan con tomate wich is a great idea. I went there pretty late, so expect music and singers. We paid approximately 40€/person without alcohol. Highly recommend this place

Wonderful place to celebrate my birthday!! When traveling abroad I always enjoy experiencing great food & new cultures. This place received rave reviews and it was with baited breath that I waited to walk through the doors! I must say that Tatel indeed lived up to the hype! The ambiance was beautiful & the decor was rich. The interior reminded me of a traditional steak house filled with wood tones & hues. To start the meal we had an appetizer of bread, cheese, and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were delectable, the bread was light and fresh, and the cheese was succulent. For the entree I had filet mignon.sauted spinach, and whipped mashed potatoes. The steak was robust, the spinach was perfectly seasoned, and the potatoes were creamy. The food & service was heaven. Despite being stuffed I had to try a dessert for my birthday. I love cheesecake & tiramisu so I was torn. The cheesecake won & it was pure hesven! Tatel was wonderful! Everything in hoped for in a birthday meal was delivered! You must try this place for you will not be disappointed!!!

Not sure how this place only has 3 stars... Monty's is excellent!…read more My wife and I found Monty's on that other trip site that advises people (why isn' Yelp bigger in Europe?). It was a bit out of our way, but we're glad we made the trek. Mi español no es bueno, but with the help of our waiter (and Google Translate) we made it work. This is easily 2 steps above bar tapas. We ordered these delicious fried goat cheese balls to start. Fantastic! (They served us 5, I ate the first one before I thought to take pictures. Lo siento!) Our mojitos were delicious. I ordered the Argentinian steak with truffled mashed potatoes. My wife had the pulled pork burger (or waiter, Manuel, used his limited English to make sure we understood this was pork not beef. Very helpful!) The pulled pork had some delicious fried queso and a side of fries (chips to ye Brits) Those of you who know me know that I am a steak lover. This steak was probably in the top 5 of my life. A beautiful piece of hanger steak, perfectly salted, you can taste the smoke from the grill. And the chef hit a proper medium. The prices were extremely reasonable for what we were served. Steak was under 10 Euros. In Massachusetts, that's a $25 plate all day long. Our whole bill, 2 drinks, an appetizer and 2 meals was less than 40 Euros. At the end of the meal, we managed to put together enough Spanish to ask for a cab. Another waiter came over, and explained in perfect English how we could catch one on the street, what the green light means, etc. Our experience at Monty's was a solid 5 stars! Cinco estrellas! Perfecto!

Luckily we came upon Pepe almost right away as it's not far from the station. Unlike when we were in Madrid 20+ years ago when you couldn't find any restaurants open after 3 until 7, they seem to serve food all day long now which is great as it's always better to have a late lunch rather than a late dinner. They have seating near the bar as well as in a covered deck area. We had burger, croquettes, spicy potatoes and of course, pimento peppers which I wanted to have as much as possible as there won't be any when I return home. The food was great and service friendly and cordial. Price very reasonable at about $50 for two with drinks.

As many parents no doubt understand, eating out isn't always worth the hassle. But today is my birthday. And my wife has generously gifted me a lunch to myself. Meant to be a glorious hour filled with delicious food and drink. I was very excited. I chose Cerveceria Pepe as the location for this blessed event because it was right out the front door of our hotel and I wanted to maximize my limited "me" time. We'll start with the atmosphere. The view is nice if you're into that "eating under an overpass" type of ambiance. There's literally an overpass 100 feet away. I sat down around 12:15 and ordered a cerveza from a surly waiter who was flying around, setting tables and preparing for the day. There was another table seated on the terrace and several customers inside the restaurant. I asked for a menu and the aforementioned sour demeanour-ed waiter looked at me like he had no idea what I was talking about. I asked again and he grunted and nodded his head toward a sandwich-board plaquared standing on the edge of the street. I should provide more context here. I speak a bit of Spanish, but I'm certainly not fluent. I find it to be enough to get by, if the person I'm speaking to is willing to work with me a bit. For example, I know that the Spanish word for "menu" is "menu". So there's little reason for the guy to be annoyed by my use of English, at least not yet. I'm also more than willing to try to speak the native language and I spend weeks before I travel learning basic words and phrases on Duolingo. Again, not fluent, but I make an effort. And I lived most of my life in Florida, where Spanish is a second language. Back to the review, sandwich board menu has a (1) with a list of Spanish words, followed by a (2) and Spanish words, then "pan, postres, y cafe". Through my brilliant powers of deduction I am able to discern that this is a 2 course menu, one selection from each category, including bread, dessert, and coffee. I'm even more excited for my birthday lunch! I Google all of the Spanish words to get detailed descriptions of the dishes and make my selections for the coming feast. I wave over the waiter, a new face from the earlier poor mannered camarero. I first establish that my assumptions concerning the "pick one from each column" format are correct. "Si, a la una." OK, just 1 from each column. I understand. "A la una." Yes, it's just me. I only need one meal. "A la una." Much more forceful this time. Um. OK? So I can only select 1 item on the list? "A la una." Very forceful. Almost aggressive. Borderline yelling at me. Then he turns on his heels and walks away. I realize after he leaves the meaning of "A la una". At 1 o'clock. But this doesn't erase my negative experience to this point. And why would I pay to be treated in such a fashion. So I pony up for the beer and go next door to enjoy what I found to be a much more friendly atmosphere. In my experience "a la" can mean "of" or even a type of something, a way of preparing a food, etc. Had the word "hora" been used, I would have figured it out. I have encountered many Spanish speakers in the US and I typically try my best to communicate with them. I certainly would not become obviously frustrated and walk away in a huff, especially if I was in the service industry. Maybe you're reading this thinking, "Well, learn the language". Fair enough. And if that's what you're thinking, then this review is not for your benefit. But there are plenty of people out there exactly like me. And they'd prefer an experience where they don't walk away feeling belittled when they've made their best effort.
