This has been my go to nail salon the last few years. I have always tipped 20% because I think their nail techs are super skilled and I have always left happy with pretty nails. In my last visit however, I received gel x and I noticed an air-bubble about 2 mm in diameter under the nail, with a little line connected to the air bubble that extended close to the tip of my real nail. I brought up my concern of moisture potentially getting under my nails (can lead to nail fungal infection, which happened to me before) to the tech after the nail was cured, and she reassured me that it wont happen. I chose to listen to her because I trusted her judgement. My nails are completed and I think they look great, I paid and tipped 20% and go on with my day. I go home and I am trying to see the air bubble under my nails but I cant bc theres polish on top, so I shined a light under my finger and I could see it. I washed my hands, and looked at the airbubble again with the light underneath and the bubble looks different which means something got underneath the nail, likely water. I check the rest of my nails and i see another smaller airbubble on another finger. The next morning, I drive 20 min to the salon and get there right when they open, and asked if they could redo the 2 nails because theres is water underneath (at least one of them). The lady at the counter asks if I can come back at 11 (an hr later) and they will fix it, and I agree with no issue because I know how busy they get with appointments (looking back, addressing a potential health concern should have been the priority). I come back an hour later, get seated with a nail tech, and as I am explaining what is going on and showing the tech the airbubble with the light underneath my finger, not even after I am done explaining, she cuts me off and says "thats not water its just the gel", and "no one shines a light under their finger" (as if what I am doing is dumb??), but I was literally just trying to show her the airbubble since you cant see it with with the nail polish on top...I explained how the airbubble looked different before and after I washed my hands the night before which means something got underneath my nail and I am just concerned about a potential nail infection since it has happened to me before. I really didnt appreciate how argumentative she got right off the bat. I was talking softly as well to not disturb the people sitting right next to me getting their nails done but she was talking in normal volume, talking to the other nail techs in vietnamese, and I just felt very unheard and put on the spot, when I am just voicing a potential health concern. I thought it would be a simple, quick get my 2 nails redone no questions asked, but I instead had to sit there and almost like defend why I am concerned, and persuade her to redo my nail. I also just drove 20 min and waited an hour and was told they could fix my nails. Eventually she said she can redo the one nail but "there is no warranty if your nails end up hurting because if I redo your freshly done nail, your nail is going to hurt because the nail is going to be thinner", and I asked her to just redo my nail (since thats obviously better than risking a nail infection??) She ended up just redoing the one nail with the bigger airbubble without even acknowledging the other finger I mentioned but by that point I just wanted to get out of there and away from that environment. The redone nail looks fine but I am just incredibly disappointed by the service, especially since I have supported their business and recommended my friends there in the last few years. Sky, the team lead, is one of the best and really makes sure that the clients and her team are taken care of. I went in for a hybrid gel fill and made my appointment online. I was treated like an existing customer, although this was first time there and they did not honor their online promotion for first time customers. Overall it felt like a conveyor belt style nail place. They have very talented artists in terms of nail designs and gel-x and a great selection of color, but if you go in there needing some time to choose a color or wanting something other than gel-x, the verdict is still out. I opted for a red, which unfortunately is the color that showcases all of the imperfections once it's applied to the nails. The technician left too much space between the cuticle and the color, and I feel like it just looks like I need a fill when in actuality I just got the color done. When I pointed to a spot that had been missed, she just told me it was my nail and proceeded to file it but that didn't resolve anything. I chose this salon based on its ratings and how pretty the inside of the salon looks like but don't get fooled like me, okay so I came in expecting professionalism, clear communication, and a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, that is not what I received. I was charged $220 for a regular acrylic set and a basic pedicure, with no pricing discussed beforehand even after I showed a reference photo. That lack of transparency made the final total feel less like a service and more like rack up the bill scam. There was also a noticeable pattern of upselling throughout the appointment, particularly being pushed toward gel polish, along with additional charges for every small change or request. None of this was clearly explained upfront, which made the experience feel less like self-care and more like constant add-ons. As a mom, this was supposed to be my time to relax and reset, and I never actually got that feeling while being there. Instead of a calming experience, it felt like I had to stay alert to avoid unexpected charges. Even more concerning was the pedicure itself. A metal cheese grater was used on my feet noticed they used that tool on everyone btw, and by the next day my feet felt rougher than before I came in which completely defeats the purpose of paying for a pedicure. I originally found La Na Nail on TikTok and I was looking for a new place that does nail art since I love getting designs on my nails and boy oh boy, I trust this nail salon with my nails! Eventually I started going to the nail artist who literally does the best art for me: Sky. NOW LEMME TELL YOU ABOUT MY GIRL SKY! She is the best in the business. My sister got her nails done around 10:15am and I swear the lady that did her nails was so aggressive and rude she even cut her while doing some filing with the machine. When she was doing the French tip design that my sister asked for, the lady was making it so messy and when my sister asked to get it cleaned up the lady got upset. Also, my sister didn't ask for a very complicated design. Just a basic white French tip with glitter. My sister was very nice and patient even though this lady was completely disrespectful and rude. Once we were in the car to leave, my sister realized that the design was STILL wrong even after restating it MULTIPLE times. This is unbelievable. And she left my sister stained with nail polish on her hands. I'm not one to complain but this is just not acceptable. My sister has her graduation this week and this is a very important day. I've been following La Na Nail Lounge on IG for a while now and have been wanting to try them out after seeing the good reviews, so I've been hyping them up in my mind and to my friends. So we found a day that works for us all and made the hour and a half drive up for a little girls day pampering... We had appointments for 3 people at 2:00pm and weren't seated at pedicure chairs until 2:20, which was inconvenient because we had plans after and this pushed everything behind. Between the three of us we did a Super Special Pedicure, Deluxe Pedicure and Regular Pedicure and I also got a gel manicure. My pedicure wasn't great and the polish job was decent but the bottom of my feet are not soft or look like they did much to them as that's how they looked going into my pedicure, disappointing. Next, I originally wanted a Pearl blue gel color that I saw on their samples and she put the first coat on my one nail and it was translucent/grey - far from baby blue on their example nail. So I asked if she'd do another coat and she replied "if I do another coat, I charge you", to which I replied "why would I be charged for you applying a second coat on my ONE pinky nail" and she repeated her previous statement. So I settled on just solid baby blue gel polish. Throughout the manicure, she kept bending my wrist downward aggressively and telling me "relax your hand", and my hand would have been relaxed had she not kept aggressively pushing it in an unnatural and uncomfortable position. Not to mention the fact that she cut and made three different nails bleed from cutting the cuticle too deep (pictures attached). My one friend's lady cut her toe nail too short and cut cuticle, making her bleed as well. I brought this to the attention of the owner and she said all they could do is compensate 20% on the manicure portion, which is just 10% more than a new customer receives showing their promotional ad found on their website. The poor workmanship and service definitely deserved more than just 20% off their already over priced rates. Overall, for as hyped up as La Na Nails is, for the expensive price and how much we were looking forward to coming here - we all left highly disappointed and won't be returning. The hype is more for the aesthetic of the place and not for the service! I've come here for a year. Today was the absolute worst. I had an appointment for a gel x removal and a full gel x set. The nail tech was rushing and was rough with my nails and hands. She pinched me twice with her clippers, she drilled to fast and hard and kept nicking my skin. I told her twice to please slow down and let her know she was too rough. My sister and I have been going to La Na Nail Lounge for just under a year and a half. We travel to Kirkland from Whidbey Island and would absolutely drive farther if they ever moved locations! From their amazing design work to their friendly service, there is truly no other nail salon that compares!!! Their line work is always so crisp and each artist has such a great attention to detail. I have never had my nails last as long as they do when I go to La Na. On average, my gel x lasts 5-6 weeks, with my longest set lasting 7 weeks!! Never before have I asked a nail technician to remove polish and give me a plain color instead, but it was so poorly done I had no other option. If you're coming here for the first time I would only recommend getting solid colors and then asking who can specifically do designs and make an appointment with them in the future. They advertise that all the technicians can do designs, but after my most recent visit that is not the case. This nail salon is located right next to Metropolitan Market in Kirkland (where subway used to be) They're still working on their sign, but it's a temporary pink big one. We made an appointment in advance and it was super easy to get a spot. They have regular manicure and gelish. For the regular mani they use OPI and other brands with great quality so it last longer. I absolutely love this place! My nails and the customer service have me OBSESSED. The interior is also cute as heck and they always offer something to drink, so that's a bonus! My first time here I tried the gel x full set because it is supposed to be a lot healthier for your nails. I showed my nail tech (sadly didn't get her name) one picture and she was able to replicate it perfectly - I was IN LOVE! She also didn't hurt me when she did my cuticles, which I was very happy about. However, over the next 24 hours or so I began to realize how much glue there was because it kept getting noticeably dirty. I ended up messaging La Na Nail Lounge on Instagram to ask if we could fix it. They replied very quickly even though it was getting late and were so so nice! They set me up with an appt for the next day! Zoe took care of me this time and when she was trying to fit me for the new set she noticed that my nails slope down, which is why there was so much glue the first time. She nicely informed me that there is no other way for me to get gel x without using that much glue, so she suggested dipping powder instead. It was definitely the right call!! She was able to replicate my original nails and they are much better now without that thick layer of glue! I couldn't be happier with my nails and my experience! I was pretty anxious about having to go back because I felt so bad but Zoe and everyone else treated me so well that they made my worries go away! TL;DR not worth the hype I found this place through instagram ads and have been wanting to try it-specifically for their "jelly pedicure" Made an appointment for 3 pedicures a few days in advanced. When we arrived they were packed (Saturday afternoon, but that's why i made an appointment). We picked out our colors and waited about 15 min. They called two of us back and our third person had to wait until the customer in the seat next to us was done. A little disappointed but the two of us knew we were going to get the longer more in depth treatment and our 3rd person was just getting a basic pedicure, no color. So taking us two early wasn't terrible. We both ordered $75 "The Most Special Pedicure" (organic jelly with fresh orange) which is what we saw advertised on Instagram and looked really cool. While we were waiting for our water bowl to fill they offered us complimentary drinks-choices were: soda, juice, sparkling apple cider, Vietnamese coffee, tea, & a few different kinds of wine/champagne. I asked for iced tea, and just so you know, it's a hot tea bag with ice cubes in it-nothing special. As far as the pedicure... it was not worth the $75. The "jelly" didn't feel like jelly, felt more of like a Cream of Wheat cereal consistency. Maybe if we got to spend more time in it, it might be worth it but I think I barely got 10 minutes in it. Paraffin wax and hot stones are always a pleasure. The orange slices were a pleasant surprise and I was not expecting them to rub it all onto my legs. I was grateful that I didn't have any cuts from shaving because that could have hurt! Our third person got "The Luxury Pedicure" $65. I'm sure this is solely due to the fact of this spa being located in downtown Kirkland, but he gets the same exact pedicure for $35 closer to his home (30 min away). We tried this place specifically for the jelly pedicures and to me, wasn't worth it. Also, I think the place at one time looked really cute and put together but now, it looks a little ghetto.
