Ordered the tandoori chicken and was blown away by the presentation of the chicken. I am a big fan of crispy chicken skin but was amazed at the smoked flavor, crispness of the outside of the skinless chicken and then the tenderness of the chicken. This evening ( 31 August 2025), we ordered a dosa and egg muppas ( entree) for our dinner. To our surprise, the muppas were served within no time, while the dosa was served well after 25 to 30 minutes!! For any Indian foodie, this would immediately raise suspicion about the food, as the dosa should not take any time to prepare, while the other than takes some time to cook. Anyway, when I tasted the eggs on the entree, the yoke was very cold and the bread served with the entree was also just lukewarm. When I questioned the waiter, why the yolk is so cold, she did not answer the question and was trying to persuade it is ok. Upon further pushback, the waiter said, this food was served in the afternoon buffet and we just used the leftover food!! They serve recycled food and expect the customer to pay the full price and they do not want to even hide that!! So if you choose to visit this restaurant, make sure you get the fresh food.

He ordered a bunch of dishes for us: Onion Bhaiji ($5.99), Chicken Pakora ($8.99), Naan ($2.99), Chicken Biryani ($17.99), Butter Chicken ($16.99), Beef Curry ($17.99), Lamb Chana Daal ($17.99), Malai Kofta ($14.99) and basmati rice ($5.99). I went with him to the restaurant to pick up the food. The Onion Bhaiji wasn't as crispy as I had hoped and we found a long black hair partially embedded in one of the pieces o_O People working in the kitchen need to wear hairnets! Luckily, none of the other dishes contained hair. The Chicken Pakora were tasty, but were more like chicken tenders. They were chicken breast strips battered and deep-fried. The Chicken Pakora I've had in the past (in Toronto) were chopped up chicken mixed with batter and rolled into balls and deep-fried. I was expecting something different but I still enjoyed the dish. The naan was soft and fluffy. The basmati rice was nicely cooked. The Chicken Biryani had a decent amount of chicken pieces in it. It was ok, but not as flavourful as I've had elsewhere. The Butter Chicken was phenomenal. One of the best butter chicken dishes I've had. The sauce was so smooth and creamy and I enjoyed the chunks of breast meat. The Beef Curry and Lamb Chana Daal were both incredibly oily. Look at my pictures, so much oil! I liked that the meat was tender and boneless and not gamey tasting, but I couldn't get over the excessive amount of oil. I did like that the Daal wasn't too mushy. The Malai Kofta were too mushy, they weren't firm enough. Although the sauce they were in was tasty. I'm glad I got to try this restaurant. The regular prices are a bit on the high side in my opinion, but I would consider getting the Butter Chicken, Chicken Pakora and naan again if they had another sale. The dine-in space is nice. The atmosphere is casual. Staff were courteous. The cashier almost didn't give my brother the 25% off discount. He noticed she didn't and asked about it. She at first said it was only for the buffet, but then said she'd ask her dad. She called him over and he confirmed, the discount applied to my brother's order and he corrected the bill. He was nice about it, so we were good. Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot, but the spots are a bit tight and awkward. I had lunch at Aahar recently with my brother and it was great. It was my second time there. I had the lunch buffet both times. The cost for the lunch buffet on our most recent visit was $14.95 a person. The restaurant is in a little converted house and the buffet is small, so don't go expecting something huge like Tandoori Flame in Brampton, lol. The main buffet had 10 dishes: vegetable pakora, peas pulao (rice with peas), mixed vegetable curry, chana masala (chickpea curry), matar paneer (paneer cheese and peas), dahl (lentil curry), butter chicken, chili chicken, tandoori chicken and naan. The supplemental buffet had pappadam, raw onions and cucumbers, raita, various sauces and chutneys, watermelon slices, and Gulab Jamun. The food was hot (in temperature), rich and flavourful. However, nothing I had was spicy. The tandoori chicken was really moist, not dry at all, which is the case at some restaurants. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, and I liked the pieces of almonds that were in the sauce. I was pleasantly surprised to see chili chicken on the buffet. It was a bit oily, but still good. The chickpea curry was labeled "black chana" and was in fact black. I actually thought it was black beans when I first saw it. I had never had "black chana" before, but it tasted like regular chana masala to me. The paneer with peas was so good. Really rich and full of flavour. The vegetable pakora were crispy, as were the pappadam (which were broken into smaller pieces). The naan was hot, freshly made, and so good. They brought us a basket and we pretty much ate the whole thing. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't any kheer for dessert. The only dessert they had was watermelon and Gulab Jamun, which I'm not a fan of, but my brother is and he liked it. I would have loved some Barfi or Jalebi. Oh well. Service was very nice and attentive. Our waters were refilled automatically without us having to ask. The restaurant is small and cozy. My only complaint is that it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant (it was a September afternoon). There are a limited number of parking spots at the front of the restaurant, but they are on Churchill, slightly north of Carling, so getting out of the parking lot may be tricky. There is street parking on some side streets nearby (look at the signage because some streets do not allow street parking during the day on weekdays). They have the lunch buffet 7 days a week from 11:30am-2pm. They have a second location on Alta Vista near Industrial, which I have not been to.
