My friend shared that she usually enjoyed the enchiladas with green sauce that is less spicy when she had been there previously. However, last night they didn't have the less-spicy green sauce available so I opted for the red sauce instead. The portion size of the enchiladas was pretty nice sized. I wouldn't say that I enjoyed the red sauce particularly, it sort of tasted like plain tomato sauce (we borrowed some of the sauces for the nacho chips to add to the red sauce and that helped a bit). I also had their guacamole - it was some of the best guacamole I've ever had and it was a really good sized portion. I hope to try them again but will likely try a different main course from their diverse menu next time.

But no one in high school or college ever told me that my broken Brooklyn Spanish is not always congruous with central American Spanish. My wife always forces me to bust out Spanish when we need it and she didn't realize why it was so hard for me to order food here. Well it turns out there are nuances, like that incredibly tasty Delish spicy cabbage slaw they call curtido in El Salvador is really a condiment for pupusas. And that another curtido encebollada exists which is interesting but not the spicy slaw that would be special to an American seeking something tasty Delish, familiar yet exotic. The slaw is curtido de repollo Para curtido btw. They make guac on the spot awesome pupusas, a really cheap and filling Carne Asada, delicious chicken tostadas only they call them enchiladas and you have to recognize that they slang it up and will say pechuga (breast) as a substitute for chicken which is pollo. Anyhow it's all really Delish, just make sure you ask for it sin tomate or sin salsa Roja. They put this ketchupy concoction on top that throws off an otherwise super tasty chicken salad on a fried tortilla! I think at this point. They've become accustomed to me though and I hope you folks give them a try. Some of the food is really rustic and rough like comida tipica kinda rough and other stuff is just incredible like the pupusas with cactus pad or flowers and cheese.

(accents and exclamation point, please), which means, "Here it is, hungry boy". Get ready. Tá Comelón's specialties are from El Salvador. The national dish means pupusas, handmade stuffed corn masa grilled until the white corn is singed with black leopard spots and the filling melts together. Smiling and cheery ladies will take your order and craft your pupusas by hand, carefully mixing the desired fillings, wrapping them into corn masa, then patting them into a delicate thinness that never leaks even after being grilled (I do not know how they do it...). Pupusas are served with an unlimited amount of encurtido de repollo, a spiced and salted cole slaw, and hot sauce. Once you have worked your way through all the variations of the pupusa, come back for dinner where daily fish, chicken and meat dishes are on the menu.
