This is my first Colombian Food experience, but I loved it! The beans and rice are amazing, the chorizo was fantastic. Plantains served several different ways, amazing desserts. Wednesday lunch special lentil soup. I get excited when hump day rolls around. The rice is out of this world. Don't even get me started on the Columbian green salsa stuff. Trust me on this one. Authentic Columbian food with a fantastic staff and service. We had the baby churrasco (grilled beef skirt steak), bandeja plate (beef steak, chorizo grilled sausage & chicharron), & lastly the Seafood Coconut dish. All were fantastic. As a Colombian myself I had to say the food was very delicious, the servers were amiable and attentive and catered to everyone's tastes. The interior is also very sophisticated but it still has Colombian designs that make the customer feel as if they were there. Latino jazz music, parrot pictures, tiled awning above and faux brick on the walls make this an inviting little hole in the wall. Although no one speaks english, food and pictures are an international language. I had the Chuleta de Cerdo Empanizada (fried pork loin steak) with rice, salad and sweet plantains. The pork was tender, not overcooked. Topped with a little Colombian hot sauce (green salsa called Ahee, cilantro, onions, garlic, tonatoes, lime juice and some dang spicy peppers ), it was perfect. Other menu items range from beef tongue (Lengua end Salsa), Pechuga en Salsa de Championes, Higado Encebollade (sautéed liver), to seafood, fajitas, soups, salads and a bevy of interesting appetizers. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. .. even with the language barrier. If you're looking for fast, authentic South American food in a comfortable setting, this is it. I will be back. This place is great. So delicious and huge portions. I wish I spoke better Spanish, because the staff didn't really speak much English. It was slightly uncomfortable, but the staff was so friendly and patient that it wasn't that bad. And the food definitely made up for it. The chichirones (cracklins) were perfect and the chimichuri steak was so tender that I couldn't believe the cut of meat. Don't let the possible language barrier keep you away. Based on earlier reviews we decided to give it a try. Cozy and clean place. The waitress was very helpful but spoke little English. We both had the Bandeja paisa . It looked good in the pictures and was very tasty. Very greasy with the sow belly and sausage. Overall an excellent experience. read more
