Overall, would recommend and will come back. However, certain items were a miss. I did enjoy my carne frita with mofongo a lot. That would be my favorite dish of the night. I also enjoyed the fried chicken and sweet plantains. The tostones were good, however I wish they were salted. The boneless BBQ ribs with pork fried rice were mid. Meat was dry and rice was decent. Egg rolls were average. I love how they infuse garlic flavor into their dishes here. Staff was friendly, but I didn't like that the gratuity options were listed at 20%, 25%, and 30%... we stand in line to place order, given a pager to come pick up your food when ready, and then you throw your trash away... pretty self serve. A solid fast food option! This Puerto Rican Chinese food didn't disappoint! I was craving for some American style orange chicken and found this place. Spacious and clean seating inside, it's to go style so you order at the counter and they buzz you when the order is ready for pick up. We waited a bit longer for our plates, like about 20min but it's ok since the food was yummy. Orange chicken with the fried rice and fries is 9/10, not as crispy as I wanted but the balance of sweet sourness was perfect. Chicken was tender and soft, not heavily coated too. Fried rice was my favorite because I don't like peas and carrots, there's none of that, instead they got some bbq pork and egg, not salty and great rice texture (every grain is well seasoned and separated) Jalapeño Churrasco with the mofongo is like a 8/10. Beef is juicy but super chewy. Every piece has a light grill smokey taste. Highlight is the sauce, it's little tangy but not really spicy unless you eat the jalapeño. Was my first time trying the mofongo, very interesting texture and really garlicky. Dipping the mofongo in the churrasco sauce was a great pairing though. Overall, I really like the place. I will be back to try more in the future, especially that boneless pork ribs that I see a lot of reviews about. read more

I went to crab a bit at this restaurant. The parking lot was a little small but a lot of news business there. Once I entered the restaurant was clean and displayed pictures of vibrant foods. Previously I tried the fried chicken here it was good but the rice was amazing. So this time I had to try the sushi . I was not disappointed at all. The portions are huge, one roll filled me up. Came here with the fam and drove from Deer Park to get there. I was craving Chino Boricua food for years and wanted my family to experience this delight. Food is good, there's better closer to where I live. The thing that bothered me here was that after spending almost $50 for a meal for 4, they give me one little sauce (mayo ketchup) for the tostones and when I asked for More, they wanted me to pay extra. I asked For 3 more since it's a dinner for 4 but they said that no, I would have to pay that only one was included. Anytime I head towards Houston I have to stop here on the way - makes me miss Florida this is as close as it gets to Puerto Rican Chinese.

So this place is totally new. Just opened. And knew that it blends two great flavors, Asian and those from Puerto Rico. Odd combination, but works. Since this was my 1st, and having no idea how or what to order, I had to think a bit and ask questions. I stayed a safe and got the Enchilado Chicken w/ pork fried rice. First thing I noticed is that the fried rice, to me is a Spanish fried rice. Very good flavors. The chicken was just right spicy w/ an Asian flare. The combo came w/ an egg role and crispy French fries. Odd but worked. There were several things I was unfamiliar with like tostones and mofongo. The plates like I ordered above come with a base of either fried rice, tostones or mofongo. Since I wasn't exactly sure what these 2 were, I stayed w/ what I know. They also have sushi rolls and fried chicken. Pretty interesting menu Tip: based on previous comments and if unfamiliar with Michy's, I'd study up on the menu before going. Looks like a new place. Very clean and colorful. I didn't know what to order and they helped me with my order and what everything was. The food portion to go was plenty for two people. I'm wondering if they have lunch menu or kids menu because that was way too much for me. Not complaining but it would help if they had smaller plates and less cost. Food portion is great regarding to the price. We ordered everything lo mein and carne frita with pork fried rice. You are not going to believe how much protein (chicken, beef and shrimp) in that box of noodle. To our surprise, the fried pork is very tender and not like the Filipino or South American style deep fried pork which were known for its crispiness. Seasoning is on strong side, used good portion of soy sauce to stir fried so make sure you are ok with it. The only thing we feel that can be done better is since you are using styrofoam container, which is ok, please use aluminum foil to separate food and container. We understand that using other type of container may increased cost but this should be the least that you should do if using styrofoam container. Overall it is a step up compared to your usual strip mall Chinese food place and we will go back soon. read more

My family and I enjoy coming to Michy's for a home-inspired meal full of flavor. The service is great, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. However, the garlic tostones--a key part of the Puerto Rican-Chinese fusion--are very often over-fried and too hard to bite. I kindly suggest not overcooking them, as they tend to absorb more oil and become difficult to enjoy. Other than that, we love Michy's! read more

Chicken didn't really have flavor and neither did the rice, which was highly disappointing. We also ordered the pepper steak with mofongo. The pepper steak tasted like frozen lean cuisine but the mofongo was on point! The mofongo is worthy of returning just for mofongo. We also ordered an egg roll which honestly, I have had better egg rolls from gas stations. The tostones were soooo good. They serve Pepsi which is awesome.
