I was visiting from SoCal for a conference. Had a free afternoon and decided to see if I could get a mani/pedi nearby. I called La Palm Nails & Spa located in Galleria Mall, to ask if they could take me in 15 mins. They said yes and told me specifically where they are located (near Ice Rink (a short way down a hallway). I was pleased with Tran and Yuan who treated me quite well. I was asked to pick a beverage (I had a glass of moscato), sat on the massage chair and my early morning travel stress started to melt away. They gave me a fabulous mani & pedi. Don't know what happened to my earlier review . I wanted another nail salon and tried this place because I like memorial city mall. It's 'just okay'. Cathy appears to be in high demand with customers. She has done my nails and ped a couple of times so I see why. She's good, pleasant personality. A little older and more mature than some of the others. Note: Some of the techs are patronizing bordering on rude. One told me to 'bring cash next time' instead of adding tip to my tab. One of the techs walks around like she's at the club, wears short skirts and attire too young-ish looking for her. I watch her and think she may be 'special and silly'. She did my nails on 12/11/25 and please note this: she immersed my fingers in a bowl of polish remover I guess to quicken removal of old polish. My fingers were 'white and dried out' from being in that remover and I'm fairly certain remover has formaldehyde in it. Crazy Work! Don't let them do this to you! Three days later I'm still putting gobs of vaseline on my hands from this very questionable, I'm sure unhealthy practice. My nails didn't feel nice and beautiful like they should have after a manicure...just very scratchy and dry. Again...if they try this don't let 'em. Thank me later. read more

I hate to write a negative review, I truly do. My pedicure was fine- no complaints there. Manicure left so much to be desired. First of all they did the manicure during the pedicure. I know many places like to do this when they get busy, but they were not busy on a Tuesday morning. Nary another customer in the salon. Maybe one other person during the entire time was there. So the shellac manicure was pretty painful. I had to keep stretching my arms across to reach the guy from the pedicure chair. It really would have been better done at a table. My nails were cut way too short. And there was lots of bleeding. So many superficial cuts from cutting the cuticles too close. And after two days two nails majorly chipped, and two nails completely fell off. The solid block of nail polish just came off. Did they not use any bond or base coat? How does this even happen? This is a lot of money to spend for such a piss-poor job. I am disappointed and also inconvenienced, since I don't live there to go back an ask them to do it over. read more

I was in Houston for work and desperately needed a mani/pedi. Most of the nail salons near the Galleria/River Oaks area close at 7 or 7:30, so I was looking for a salon that was open later. La Palm seemed to be the closest to me and was open until 9. It is inside of the Galleria, on the ice rink level behind La Madeleine so it is a little tricky to find. I parked near Tiffany & Co and took the escalator down. I am not one to go to a mall nail salon, but I felt like I couldn't wait any longer. I had Lien working on my pedi and Le on my dip mani. Service felt very rushed. I got a manicure, full gel set, and pedicure. They did both at the same time which was not a relaxing experience. Imagine a large pillow draped over your lap. Then imagine said pillow being used as a table to do your gel set while someone else is moving your legs around in water. It was efficient but the furthest thing from relaxing. I was busy repositioning my limbs every 3 minutes which was not fun. They also slathered a very large amount of oil onto my toes at the end of the pedicure and did not massage the oil in or provide a towel to wipe it off. I had to massage the oil in myself in order to not ruin my shoes. My toe polish then started coming off an hour after leaving the salon. Wow!! I called at 630 and made an appt for 745 and arrived at 8. I was tended to with the most respect from the owner and technicians. Even though it was close to closing time I never heard the technicians talk bad, or even complain. My nail technician LE! Was amazing!! She did a perfect job. I am sooo picky but she knew exactly how I wanted my nails shaped and she's fast! I am so blown away by the dip powder selection . I don't know why this place has bad reviews but the new management is def helping. This place is awesome and the staff is so accommodating. I came in Monday evening for a pedicure and dip powder manicure. The staff was welcoming and answered all of my questions about the color I wanted as well as the price. Definitely a clean and relaxing atmosphere. I appreciated how efficient they were to getting my nails and feet done. Quick note: they were very detail orientated when it came to the style I wanted! This is an ok nail spa. I only stopped by because my acrylics had broke somewhere along the way while I was shopping, so I decided to go ahead and get them removed ASAP. I wouldn't say the staff were exactly the friendliest but it is what it is. I'm sure they judge you based on how you are dressed. On the flip side, they apparently have drinks! This place charges about $13 to get acrylics removed. They also accidentally shaved my pinky nail down so much, it was practically paper thin, and it started throbbing without me touching it. She did attempt to buff the rest of my nails out and clean it up but with all the shaving from the little shaver, my nails were pretty uneven when I left. However, I go elsewhere for my pedicures because although they advertise a $22 special; they do a horrible job unless you upgrade to the $40 or more deluxe package. They have a variety of color choices from, shellac, powder, to regular nail polish! I normally get the shellac polish and it lasts me a long time. I've never had any issues with chipping. I did a refill on my nails here. The stylist made them look awful. And I had to pay 50 dollars + tip. They were way too thick and the gel didn't cover the whole nail. So I went back to complain. LaPalm Nails & Spa at Memorial City Mall in Houston is worth neither your time nor your money. Recently, I went to LaPalm for both a pedicure and a manicure, as I had several other times. This time, after Nana had completed the pedicure, she filled a bowl using the pedicure faucet, balanced the bowl on the armrests of the pedicure chair, and asked me to soak my fingernails. I was surprised, since my manicures always had been done at a manicure table every time before. It didn't take long for Nana to finish - in her opinion - the rest of the manicure steps. Something didn't seem right. Since the light in the pedicure room wasn't bright, I told Nana that I wanted to sit in the brighter light of the manicure room to inspect her work. As I suspected, once she and I had moved to the usual area for manicures, I saw several areas that hadn't been completed. Nana did a bit more, then quickly turned her attention to her next client. A day or so later, I called LaPalm and explained my dissatisfaction to someone who said she was the manager. I wanted someone other than Nana to complete the job, since she hadn't done the job right the first time. The manager said that no one but Nana would want to do it. And when I complained about the manicure having been performed at the pedicure chair, the manager claimed that clients like it done that way, since it saves time.
