We were getting back from a speakeasy tour with our daughters and craving late night noodles soup…read more I found this close by before going to the metro. They just turned off the marquis lights and a minute from closing. I went in and asked kindly and begged them to accept 4 for a dine in meal. There was brief controversy amongst them but they kindly agreed if we ordered quickly which we did!! Would have been nice to peruse the menu more but we know the cuisine and got to it! It's in my opinion a AYCE hot pot place with modern glass top tables and burner in the middle that is also sort of the Canto-Viet type that also does a good Thai lemon grass soup bowl, and limited dim sum items. Most of the Asian restaurants in Paris tend to be a bit "pan-Asian" and tend to do very authentic dishes slightly different than what we expect in the US and authentic restaurants. We ordered beef pho, egg noodle soup with pork, egg noodle soup with chicken, shu mai, and har gow. Quick service. Boy they wanted to go home and who could blame them after a long day! They were brief yet kind by American Asian dining standards in my opinion. Like Asian food here, some items were different than what we expect in the Seattle area but not too much in a negative way as we experienced. The shu mai definitely more shrimpy and the har gow with a thicker wrap. The meat fried appetizer was weird but still cooked perfectly in the fryer. The pho was a good developed broth with a "dac biet" inclusive protein including large but good tripe. The egg noodle soups excellent with lots of bok choy and veg. The pork though was breaded spare ribs WITH and without bones so BEWARE. It was still very good and I'm glad I ordered that for my entree!!! We also got a chicken noodle dish (chow mein) for our son back at the apt. I had some leftover later and it was great! Better than many chow meins at my favorite places back home. I'm going to try to talk the family into going back for AYCE hotpot as I love that but it's hard to convince them to let dad go to those since they don't eat as much volume as I can and have long hair that sucks in the odor. They did all notice that effect after leaving there even though it was closing down and no hot pots going. We were the last diners there as they broke down service and they were still very kind and grateful for our service. All of this for about $60 euros out the door. Very affordable!!!! I'd highly recommend this to anyone anytime as it's got something for everyone that is reliably good for the most part!

French food tends to be on the heavier side with cheese and butter and that's expected. However…read moreafter not having Asian food for a while we craved a different flavor palette that would cut the grease. This restaurant was exactly what my wife and I needed at that time. Great flavors and ample tasty meats on the sides to just scoop up. This was possibly the most memorable meal of Paris partly because of the buildup. Highly recommend!

The waiter still refused to provide a printed receipt, and eventually we just paid because we weren't about to spend the entire night arguing. Avoid at all costs.

To start off, our waiter was snooty. We weren't that hungry and only ordered two dishes: Buddha Bowl Green and Creamy Burrata. When I received the Creamy Burrata, I didn't see the "farro with grilled vegetables, pesto and strawberry," which was suppose to be part of the dish. I asked the waiter and he said it was the right dish. As for the "Buddha Bowl Green" salad, the texture of the kale was like thawed, previously frozen spinach. It was disgusting. When the bill arrived, we find out that the dish we were charged for was "Briouates feta and halloumi," not "Creamy Burrata." Either the waiter didn't know what the dishes look like or he was a.... The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

That's where Végébowl comes in to save the day as my first meal after arriving in Paris. Being the de facto food connoisseur of my group since I'm plant-based, I was excited to try this spot and see my friends enjoying all the food as well. We started with their Shiitake Mushroom Fritters (6€) and these were crispy, golden perfection in our mouths. They weren't overly fried or greasy and the mushrooms were tender and fantastic. For my main, I tried their Claypot Udon with Satay Sauce (12€). Even on a hot Parisian day, this noodle soup definitely filled me up. The sauce was fantastic - a mix of satay paste and coconut milk, and all the tofu and veggies incorporated with the udon was just heavenly. They also had BOBA. I was thrilled that they offered milk tea (with ice!) and boba, and while it didn't blow me away, the fact that it was even available meant I was ordering one. My friend agreed. Definitely loved dining here and would say they are one of my go-to spots now especially the next time I'm in Paris.

A few other parties trickled in through the course of our meal. The menu has many appealing dishes but after narrowing everything down, GF ordered the onion soup and seitan bourguignon. I ordered a vegan "roast" with the side of potatoes. I'm not going to bullshit you, nobody is going to confuse this onion soup for the real deal but once you get past that, it was absolutely excellent. You're hearing this from someone who doesn't like onions or beef broth. I wanted to just try it but ended up funneling half of it down my gullet. The roast was pretty good, as were the potatoes and what I assume was a creamy cauliflower "salad" like side. It was nothing earth shattering but enjoyable and I really appreciated having a vegan meal considering the vast majority of the offerings in this city. Regarding the beef bourguignon, GF says: "it was very tasty". I will add that the service was...just ok. It was pretty quick and prompt but in stark contrast to the welcoming and friendly service received elsewhere in the city.
