    Interesting concept. It's basically a wine bar that serves good quality canned? Foods and preserves. It works though. I had the Salé with lentils and it was super tasty. Served with 3 slices of sourdough and a fantastic salted butter. As almost anywhere in Paris, it was relatively pricey for what it was, but the wine was good and the food was decent, plus the place was buzzing on a very cute side street off the canal, so it was perfect.

    So after walking around the city and the canal st martin near Gare de L'est, we made our way over to this side street and was looking for a café to stop by for some wine and a snack. The front of the café had a few tables outside and there were multiple tables inside. The joint itself has a rustic feel and has a easy vibe with many young folks grabbing spots to enjoy the day. We made our way into the joint at around 5PM. While entering, the main guy working at the bar didn't pay us much attention but just pointed at a table. The guy continued to be nonchalant and just kept asking in French if we had chosen. Thank goodness I could speak basic French to understand what he was saying but he was the first person we had met in the city that didn't seem too nice to English speaking folks. He seemed fairly impatient but we were able to finally choose a mixed plate and a bottle of vino for snack. He took our menus and walked back behind the bar while we were left to view the people around the café. I could not help but notice the prep of the platter and realized the guy was just picking up items out of the fridge and just tossing it down on the plate. I know its not meant to be a fancy plate but he literally was just taking out plates and tossing it onto the board. I know that may seem trivial but I guess I was already on edge from the rude approach to the table. He dropped off the plate and it was OK. The meats and cheeses didn't seem like great quality but were fine to get the job done. The bread was wrong for the platter as it was too big and tasted a bit stale. At the end, I asked for the check and he curtly stated in French they do not accept credit cards. It was our first cash only spot but yelp states they do accept credit cards. It was hard for me to know if he was just being rude or perhaps it was true. We used the remaining cash we had and made our way out. I think this was a disappointing experience for me with low quality food but in fairness perhaps it was just that one plate that was not good but still could have had better service. Perhaps just an off night for the joint but not sure I would be back.

    Time for an apero whilst discovering the 10th Arrondissement in Paris. I search Yelp for a recommendation. La Patache seems to fit the bill. I watch a large barge pass through the lock and walk 20m to La Patache. What a surprise to discover I have been here before with friends. La Patache has no airs and graces. It is what I would describe as honest. Wooden tables and mismatched chairs add to the ambiance. No designer furniture here. Cured meats hang from one corner and cornichons sit on the ledge in giant pickling bottles. Lighting is very dim in spite of tea candles on each table. Music thumps as it trys to compete with the stationary traffic with their horns beeping. The jukebox in the corner appears to date from the 60s and is no longer in use. The waitress looks over to see if I have finished my drink (Perrier) with no sign of impatience. Customers are more interested in chatting than drinking. It is like having friends over for a drink. This friendly bar is definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area. There is a wide choice terrines, rillettes, sardines and charcuterie as well as hot dishes. A wonderful local bar.

    An amazing recommendation from our host in Paris, La Patache made us feel like we weren't Americans in Paris even though we translated the menu with our pocket French dictionary. Order the charceuterie - it's made in house and it's huge and everyone else is getting it too. The wines are on point and we did get to see the house kitty scamper through towards the back. My fiance (first time using that word in a yelp review) ordered the coq au vin and finished it while I ordered the duck terrine and took it. Terrine translated by my dictionary = shredded. But terrine de canard is pureed cold duck in a jar served with bread. I'm not sure if the French love it, but when in Paris, right? Because it's so good it gets pretty crowded and we were lucky to casually grab one of the last tables. If you're in the Canal St. Maartin area, this is a solid spot to dine!

    Really great & friendly service!! It is kind of a place to eat meat, so I wouldn't imagine it's a place for vegans ;). I had duck breast which was wonderful! Good wine too.

    This was a wonderful bistro along Canal St. Martin. I came for an early dinner, so I was able to walk in and get a seat, but as the evening progressed, it became quite full. I had the beef tenderloin, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The meal was accompanied by new potatoes and an aioli that accompanied both perfectly. A highlight of my trip!

    First time visiting La Patache and trust me, it will surely not be the last! Had a great experience all around. As most good restaurants are, this one was busy upon arrival. No problem, was offered a glass of wine and checked out the menu while standing on the quiet side street that the restaurant faces. Was extremely impressed by the staff. Nothing but smiling faces and they knew what they were doing. The bartender put together our charcuterie plate, antipasti plate and dessert. Our waitress expertly managed the dining room so that no one was overlooked. When the main courses arrived the chef brought them out and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we were pleased with what was being presented. The food left nothing to be desired, it was excellent! The butter, oh my, the butter. Seriously, where do they find it, it's the most delicious butter I've tasted in my 38 years! The meats on the charcuterie plate went together perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh. The antipasti had great variety. My main was the beef tartare and it was perfect in both presentation and taste! Add La Patache to my short list of favorite Parisian bistros and one that will become a stable for every future visit!

    Dined here two evenings. A real gem right off of the canal. Excellent cheese and charcuterie not to mention the beef tartare. Staff was wonderful. Don't miss this one!

    Delicious meal and lovely service in an intimate resto near the canal. This was my husband's first experience with "real French food" and his filet de boeuf could not have delighted him more. I enjoyed an entrecôte de Cochon. very tasty, and the potatoes were transcendental. We made it in just before the crowds and the very kind waiter was so patient and sweet with our dumb American questions. Loved it!

Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.
