A. suggested Mexican food, and I'm kind of snobby and begrudging about getting Mexican food in NYC since I always go back to Houston and gorge. But I relented and we got the whole haul: - al pastor - carnitas - alambre (de chorizo) - chorizo - tinga (chicken) - enchilada (spicy pork) The guy looked at me funny because I wanted a chorizo y huevo taco (they make it in torta form), but I mean, Texas is the land of breakfast tacos so I wanted to try it. We ended up getting a normal one, but I'm working on charming them into making breakfast tacos for me. They were kind enough to speak to me all in Spanish. Necesito practicar. Everything was great. My favorite was the al pastor. The chorizo was a little more dry and crumbly than I'm used to, but it was delicious (and less greasy). Double-corn-tortilla for every taco, like it should be. A+ for authenticity. Pico + onion + guac on EVERY TACO. A++ for the guac. And that red hot sauce is the BOMB. Hot sauce, bring it on.

The food is pretty decent. I've gotten a steak burrito bowl (Calexico Carne Asada) and while it wasn't amazing like Chipotle, the amount of meat I've gotten was great and it held me over for hours. The food is solid and given the shortage of variety for food trucks in SoHo, this is a good option if you're craving something easy, quick and legit, although the guy who handles all payments and hustles for the money with a handful of cash looks like a dive bar bouncer in his night shift and seems a bit fishy.

The Mojo Chicken A la Plancha consists of citrus and garlic marinated grilled chicken and white onions with your choice of Bongo Sauce (spicy) or mojo aioli sauce. The guy suggested the Bongo Sauce. So I went with it. They do offer sides as well such as empanadas, black beans, plantains and tostones. The tostones were only a $1 so I decided to try them. They were crispy with loads of flavor from the Lime Salt. That was the only good thing from my meal... The Mojo Chicken was good, but dry. We're not talking mexico prices here, but it's better and cheaper than what you're getting at a corporate spot, and the service is caring! He occasionally has a brown rice that is spicy, so always ask if he has it if spice is your thing, and you might get lucky! Seriously though, I've worked in Manhattan since '92, and this truck is special. The food is fantastic and flavorful and well worth the reasonable cost.
