Been coming to La Perlita for a bit now after a friend introduced us to their food at a party and I'm honestly obsessed. If you go, the garlic tostones are a Must! non-negotiable. I get them every single time, and I've even ordered half trays for parties and yes, full trays for bigger get-togethers. They're that good. The lunch specials are such a steal too. The pork fried rice hits every time, and the fried chicken is solid crispy, flavorful, and not greasy or overly salty like a lot of places. Overall, it's one of those spots that just doesn't miss. As soon as I walked in, it smelled heavenly. I was craving sushi, and a couple of employees recommended the Churrascos Roll, so I decided to try it. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it. It felt like I was eating mostly sauce--I couldn't really taste the steak or the plantain because the sauce completely overpowered everything else. That said, I loved the decor of the place. I actually ended up trying this spot on the same day as my visit to the café next door. After my pick-me-up, I was definitely ready for some food--and La Perlita Chino Boricua & Sushi immediately caught my attention. They offer a pretty healthy menu, but I decided on the Boneless BBQ Ribs combo with pork fried rice. You also have the option of vegetable fried rice or fries (you can do half/half), but the pork fried rice seemed to be the most popular. I was not disappointed. I've had BBQ boneless ribs years ago and have been chasing that same flavor ever since, and this really hit the spot. The ribs were flavorful, the portions were huge, and the prices were super affordable. If this place were any closer to my house, I could easily see it becoming a regular (maybe even a little dangerous lol). Either way, I'll gladly make the drive when the craving hits. The turnaround time was very quick. honestly, the longest part of my visit was just deciding what to order. The sushi station is partially open, so you can actually watch them making the sushi, which is a nice touch. Inside, the restaurant is spacious, bright, and has plenty of seating. Overall, this spot exceeded my expectations. Between the fast service, generous portions, and variety on the menu, I'm already looking forward to coming back to try their other options. read more

I tried this place while visiting someone in the hospital and the food was good. I see it has all 5 star reviews and I don't want to come off as a hater but nothing really stood out to me except the portion size. Maybe all the great reviews got my expectations too high. I had the BBQ pork lunch special and it was a great value for $10. The pork and fries tasted good but the fried rice was average. I would eat here again if I were in the area. read more

This place was certainly delicious so we were in for quite a treat. I've been waiting for them to open and we finally made the stop for lunch today. Very clean, very welcoming and the staff itself were very friendly and excited to have us there. The menu was priced very well with many different options to choose from. Lots of great options for Latin fusion sushi rolls and other dishes. Food - I got the lunch special. Carne Frita with fried rice and French fries. The carne frita was very crisp, tender and perfectly flavored. I liked the fried rice sine it had bean sprouts, green onions instead of chunky white onions. I'm not sure if it had a fried egg or not but if not, it should certainly have it lol. The FFs were super crispy and snappy. I would highly recommend La Perlita, it's new, it's delicious and very affordable. read more

So happy to try this new chino-boricua spot. I kept eye-balling it after seeing the sign come up. Greeted upon arrival, we grabbed some menus and took a seat to check out the options. I have never had a Latin inspired sushi roll so I decided to try something new with the Churrasco Roll. I loved how the sweet maduro complimented the savory steak. La Perlita is a family-owned business that has roots in Puerto Rico since the early 2000s. You know they serve authentic Chino-Boricua food that is not only tasty, but generous in portion size, and made fresh. The owners are very sweet and friendly and the restaurant is clean and very modern. Their murals are gorgeous too! I have yet to try all their menu items, but I have enjoyed everything I've ordered from La Perlita. If you don't know where to start, I highly recommend their bbq pork, fried rice, and tostones al ajillo, which are classics that you will surely enjoy! Hands down the best Chinese food that I've had in Katy! Ordered the family pack: 1/2 gallon fried rice: Very well seasoned and simply delicious. I prefer a little more sesame oil flavor, but that is a personal preference. Broccoli Beef: Meat was tender, Broccoli crunchy, and the sauce was perfect. Carne Frita: Tender and delicious. We did take out so it wasn't crispy, that's normal Sweet and Sour pork: Always a great choice Tostones: I swear they injected their tostones with garlic! What a combination that is always a win! The best Chinese-Puertorrican food I've had in such a long time! Even in Puerto Rico I haven't had such yummy fried chicken with tostones al ajillo. And the service is amazing! First off, this restaurant is run by a very nice family. Secondly, it's unique in that it's Puerto Rican style Chinese food, and thirdly the food is good. I can't think of a better value per dollar for takeout food anywhere. The fried rice is very good, not mushy, does not lack protein, overall delicious and inexpensive. I had the lomein too which was also good. Overall I recommend this restaurant especially if you are looking for a filling meal for a good price. read more

I am so glad we have a Puertorican Chinese place in the greater Houston area which is both affordable and of reliable quality. The pepper steak is just great--filled to the brim with beef, pork fried rice and french fries! The pork egg rolls are just divine (don't forget the duck sauce!), and the mofongo (for non-Puertoricans: fried mashed plantains) has a wonderful texture with the right amount of garlic. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I had to. I have never had Puerto Rican Chinese food and I stopped at this place on a whim, but I am so glad that I did. This was possibly the best Chinese food I've ever eaten and having the french fries with the pork fried rice was a nice little surprise I was not expecting. I got the Garlic Chicken it was amazing. 10/10 read more
