Man this place is FIRE!!!!!! Recommend by someone who comes here often, did not disappoint at all!! This place is Puerto Rican - Asian fusion and man does it hit the spot! A lot of their meals (for your pepper steak, chicken, shrimp, etc.) come with their pork fried rice, but they also have sushi, tostones (fried plantains), Mofongo, and other delicious Latin-Asian goodies. My friend and I came here to eat dinner. They were quick. The utensils and plates are self serve. When they serve you your meal, it's already in a to go box even if you are dining in. The food was super mid. The chicken in the orange chicken was low quality, tough, and stringy. The strongest flavor in the lo mein was the subtle flavor of celery. The fried rice was also super mid and dry. I was disappointed because the reviews are so high, so wanted to shoot some people straight. Some friends and I decided to take a break from studying and we stumbled upon this place, it was pretty busy inside and they have a decent amount of seating available. They provide a fusion of Asian and Latino cuisines. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, and it looked and tasted amazing. This portion for $12 felt like a steal! They also have various other options available ranging from sushi to different plates and I definitely will have to come back to try out their other options! I visited this place for the first time, and it is fairly spacious and very clean, with a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a meal. I was impressed by the size of the dishes wow it was so much that I had leftovers to take home! The flavor was delicious. My husband ordered the steak with chimichurri, and I definitely recommend it. It's been a long time since I've left a restaurant with heavy bags of food! And for the price point, not bad at all. The food itself is decent but the sheer amount of food is staggering. I'd say if you align your expectations for getting full and feeding a large gathering, this is a pretty reasonable spot. The one thing I didn't love was all the red dye in their dishes. The plantain sushi were surprisingly delicious. Never would've thought to fuse these. Worth a try if you love plantains. read more

Not sure? Tell us the good and the bad. Well what went good "great actually" was the food. I had the Texas Roll and my wife had the Churra Roll. It was they were unique and lots of flavor. The chimichurri sauce was really good on top of Churra roll. I was glad they had it packaged to go because what went bad was the time to get our order. Over 20 mins. We saw several others behind us get there orders and about finish by the time our buzzer went off. I asked the lady what took so long and she said the Texas Roll as it had to be fried and that adds about 15 mins. It's lunch time, we all are on schedule to get back to work and this would have been a handy piece of information to have when ordering. So home we went to eat and work - multi tasking they call it. Love this place. Their sushi rolls are definitely worth the try. I recommend the Shaggy Eel and the Crazy Boricua. My go-to is always the Orange Chicken. This was a nice surprise. We went on Saturday around 3ish and were lucky enough to score a table. The place is small so space is limited. They seem to be constantly busy. When you walk in, go to the right to place order. We got the family pack and a mofongo to share. The family pack comes with 1/2 gallon of rice, 2 proteins, plantain and 4 canned sodas. Did not get a picture of everything. The 1/2 gallon of rice was huge. Our two proteins were the bbq boneless pork and the garlic chicken. The mofongo was disappointing. The rest of the food was awesome. There was plenty of food for seconds and to take leftovers home. We'll be back. Maybe not to eat there but most definitely to go. read more

Perfect fusion of Latino/Asian foods. Everything we ordered tasted great I wish we'd of known the portions were so huge. 2 people can easily share a meal. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. There is room to sit however not many seats so on a busy day you may not have a place to sit order take out maybe? The location is right on the edge of Katy and right off the westpark and peak road exit. Very convenient at least for me I live just down the street. You do have to order first no waiters so grab a menu up at the front if you need to browse before you order. The staff can make recommendations if you need them but basically all thier menu looks and sounds delicious! GOOD FOOD, MASSIVE PORTIONS, NO FRILLS "RESTAURANT" FOOD: Good, borderline great tasting food. VERY GENEROUS PORTIONS! To-go box was overfilled. All your food will be in to-go boxes, whether you say dining in or not. The San Fried Rice (signature) is full of tasty shrimp, chicken, eggs, and steak (slightly well-done though - sigh). The boneless BBQ ribs are super delicious, just a tad on the sweet side. No alcohol. They told me they used to have alcoholic drinks though. They've been open for about 4 yrs. $1 for bottled water (Ozarka). $2 for Arizona Iced Tea 20oz (maybe for sodas also). I mentioned prices because drink prices are not on the menu. Not bad. AMBIENCE: Non-existent. Seems like they are just a restaurant hybrid. Half of the "restaurant" is decorated with small non-functional windows and doors on the walls (yes doors). The other half is filled with cartons of soda cans and other supply boxes (see pics). You can tell that they really want you to take your food to go! Seems like this place is stuck in the COVID era. Mask sign is still prominently posted on door, ALL food is packed to-go containers, inside a plastic grocery bag, only small plastic forks (no real sturdy utensils), flimsy white paper plates, and only small 8 oz plastic cups (4 gulps worth before you have to refill them). CUSTOMER SERVICE: Meh at best. Friendly at register. But after you pay, they pretty much will leave you alone. Good for some guests, bad for others. So if you want ice or a cup, or anything else, you must go to the counter and ask. Contrary to another reviewer, they seemed willing to give me what I requested (twice) in a polite, friendly manner. MISC: The restaurant is a Chino Latino restaurant. But I didn't expect them to take it so literally. Working the register is a latino guy and an asian (chinese) guy. LOL. Well, there is also a young latina in the front, in charge of wrapping up the food and doing misc duties (like giving me with a cup of ice). Also, you won't find their menu if you enter the restaurant and head to the left. Despite having 2 computer screens above the register, there is no menu or food listings on them - only rotating pics of some of the food plates. Another customer pointed out that the menus were lying flat on the drinks refrigerator, so they are sort of hidden. Of course, in COVID fashion, they are on plain 8x11 paper and laminated. Now, if we had turned right when we entered, we would've been on a small narrow "yellow brick road", protected by a tall wall, that would lead us straight to the drinks refrigerator. Duh. Clueless us. Anyway, tonight was our first time. We will def be back to try other items on their menu. read more

If you are looking for authentic Chinese-puerto Rican food, it's here!!! One of the best carne fritas I've had, it's moist but still crispy on the outside and goes well with their mayo-ketchup. Their ribs are to die for along with their sweet plantains. My husband is from the island and we go annually to visit, so this place definitely holds up. This place is exactly what everyone describes in their reviews: Large portions and reasonable prices. We ordered the char siu and rice, and the box can easily feed 2-3 people. The dye color on the char siu is too red for my comfort and the overall taste is too sweet. We also ordered some rolls and they were all pretty good. No skimpy portions here. Only complaint is that a shrimp vein was completely visible and hanging out, which tells me the shrimp was not properly deveined before cooking. The cashier was nice and friendly. Not going to lie the food was pretty good (except for the plantains)...the service on the other hand kind of sucked. Oh, and you might want to sneak in your own big bottle of water or soda to accompany your meal. The restaurant does not have soda fountains for you to have a refill or to get extra ice (or water) on your own. Bottled soda is $2 per bottle. Tea was not an option. You have to nickel and dime the girl behind the counter for everything. And every time you ask her for something you can tell it's bugging her. My order: Sweet & Sour Chicken with fried plantains and a Philadelphia sushi roll. Requested the spicy Mayo that they have be put inside the roll (before they rolled it up) and the cook refused to do it. He said he would put the mayo on top of the sushi or on the side. WHY? Plantains (at least 100% of the ones I've eaten in the past) are usually a little sweet. These fried plantains tasted like fried potatoes. On the menu, they come with a garlic sauce...I thought that would taste really nice...a little sweet plantain and garlic... but it turned out to be bland with garlic. The Sweet & Sour Chicken was absolute perfection. My Philadelphia roll was near perfection. Turns out their spicy mayo (for sushi) tastes NOTHING like what your typical spicy mayo should taste. There was no kick to it at all. To be honest I have no idea what I was eating. All I know is it looked like a Ketchup derivative. San Eatery: get a soda fountain ..offer tea/water... get bigger plastic cups (those little 8 oz cups you have are worthless) . In case you didn't know PEOPLE LIKE TO DRINK WHEN THEY EAT AND WHEN IT'S HOT OUTSIDE. 1 bottle of soda is nothing. I won't be back any time soon. read more

First time trying this place. Very quaint inside and looked clean but was practically empty due to Covid. I tried the house fried rice and it was tasty however, the flavors could have been more pronounced. It's almost as if they didn't put enough soy sauce and/or seasoning to give it that true Asian taste. Also, the proteins was fresh but they don't get you enough. There was hardly any eggs but instead more rice. For the price point being $10 they could have included more egg and protein. San Eatery has the best and freshest sushi in Katy - I've yet to find a restaurant that has unique, delicious rolls for such a great price. Today I ordered 3 rolls and they were ready in just 10 mins (and only $20 total!!). I would highly recommend the Shrimp Tempura, Chimi, and Sorpresa Rolls. My only complaint is that they close a bit early (8:30 on weekdays, 9:30 on weekends). Please consider supporting this small business!! read more

Hate doordashing places I have never tried bc it usually is a miss more than a hit but I have had this place delivered to me twice and each time is amazing! I have had the bbq pork plate both times and my only criticism is that it's rice doesn't come in an option for combination or shrimp only vs more pork in the rice but both is flavorful. Portions are great can be stretched for multiple meals. I tried their sushi as well & the shaggy eel goes CRAZZYY. Hate warm sushi but the flavor was amazing, the texture was good and the portion was about the regular amount you would get anywhere else.
