My family and I went here for dessert after eating at the Dim Sum place next store on Saturday. Fantastic boba and wonderful pastries and treats of all kinds, from tarts, to truffles, to rugelach. Delicious, I would highly recommend. But silly me, I accidently left my wallet and didn't realize it until Monday that it might be there. They kept it safe, everything was there, including all of the money. I tried giving the nice gentleman a reward, and he flatly refused. I got extremely lucky with honorable people. I didn't get a chance to try their scrumptious looking pastries, but I did try their boba drinks which I assumed would be low in quality for a place that focused baked goods. I ordered the wintermelon slush, and wow the flavors were so good! I've had wintermelon drinks where it was mega bland, but they know how to make their drinks! Discovered this little bakery from the reviews that popped up, so I drove out of my way to find a great French Bakery. You will miss it (like I did) if you are not aware that it is buried in the "Little Korea" shopping mall strip off Alameda where the big Costco Biz warehouse is. The person present at the time was friendly enough, but I was quite surprised at the limited selection, missing most French bakery standards, which she said they do not ever make. In fact, I felt deflated I had spent so much time driving there trying to find the place to be so let down. The name does NOT at all describe what it is. According to the person working their they do not offer the products of a French bakery nor even understand the french language/names of the breads and pastries I inquired about. Ce n'est pas de tout une Patisserie ou une Boulangerie. Not wanting to waste the trip nor walk out on the proprietor without buying something, I purchased their pistachio cookie buttons & shortbread. Neither were impressive nor flavorful. I would not buy again. The cakes written about on other reviews are only sold whole so I could not tell you how they taste; they had just one cake of various sizes: fruit topped whipped cream Asian Durian cakes. Again, no French pastries. No French No French Breads, No Croissants, No classic French gateaux. Cute little bakery with a nice selection of mini cakes, cookies, fruit tarts, croissants and more! You can also order large cakes here. After driving by this place a few times and being curious about it, I finally decided to stop in today. I ended up ordering a mini chocolate mousse cake. The cake was really good, had a pretty presentation, and was very reasonably priced (I believe it was only $3.25). I definitely will be returning here to try out some other items. Some items in particular that caught my eye today were the mini tiramisu cake, mini fruit tarts, and their chocolate and almond croissants. Their croissants are HUGE and they were less than $3. I can't believe that I'm giving a 5 star rating... I really take this place seriously. I have tried so many of their cakes and they just do not disappoint!!!! So here goes... Let's address the big elephant in the room... the owner/baker IS NOT FRENCH! However, IT IS A FRENCH STYLE BAKERY... How would an Asian know anything about French baking? Because the French spent a lot of time in Asia influencing them! Tiny shop in a strip mall... decor is lacking, but who cares? There's not an abundance of cakes filling out the shelves, but what they do have is FRESH and LEGIT! Cake wise... OH EM GEE... it is now my GO-TO place for cakes of any occasion. I mean it... and I do not live close to DTC. It all started with the MANGO MOUSSE cake... this is truly a mousse cake... it's not too sweet, the mousse is velvety and smooth like mousse should be. The mango flavor gives the mousse a tropical and bright aroma. Then I found out they make a DURIAN CAKE... ok those of you that have never had durian you might not want to try it, this is not for newbees. This cake is only for people who can eat Durian... I'm sorry but it's either a love or hate relationship. Durian is a special tropical fruit that gives off a VERY STRONG ODOR! BEWARE! Don't buy this for a crowd that doesn't even know what durian is! However... if you know your crowd and know they like durian... this cake is incredible. Real chunks of durian whipped into the light creamy frosting, gives it a buttery richness and the sweetness that is so characteristic of durian. This guy is brilliant to even think to bake a durian cake... I wish more people offer this. I know the clientele is small... but we oh so appreciate this cake so very much. Finally there's the PANDAN COCONUT cake. Holy shit... this cake is awesome. Yes it's green... from the pandan leaf extract, gives it a beautiful aroma that compliments coconut perfectly. In this cake, he uses real pieces of coconut meat in the cream. NOT THE DRIED CRAP you buy at the store, but real fresh coconut meat. So awesome. I have been bringing these cakes to all my parties for the past couple years and I am a super star, EVERYONE LOVES ME, hehehehe. But here is my disclaimer... I am Asian myself and my parties are often Asian parties... really haven't sprung it on other groups yet. So between these 3 incredible cakes, I always have an awesome cake for every occasion. Best fruit tarts in town! I'm so glad they relocated to this new location as it's so much closer to me. The only thing I've tried here is the fruit tarts, and they are delicious. They're not too tarty nor are they super sweet, it's just a nice balance in between. It's topped with fresh fruit. They make them in bite sizes on a daily basis, but if you're wanting a 12 inch for a party or something, you have to order ahead. Service is amazing, they're quick and attentive and prices are reasonable. read more

I been ordering cakes from here for years and years now. It is a small bakery located in Englewood. It is kind of hidden but once you find it you will love this place. My personal favorite is the mango mousse cake!! All time fave, if you don't know what to order try to mango mousse and you will fall in love. They have tiramisu, mousse, and fruit cakes. Taro cake is also another great option. If you don't like too sweet of a cake or dessert you will like this bakery. I am not really a sweets person so I always prefer getting something that is light, which La Petite bakery is one of my favorites! I give five stars, not only because it is a famous authentic Hong Kong bakery which is really popular among Asian Americans when they want a taste of Asian sweet tooth when homesick. It is also because of the honest of the owner of the bakery. Yesterday I ordered a 8" fruit birthday cake through the phone for my friend. Maybe Because of poor connection, the clerk took my phone number and what I wanted to order and pickup time but didn't get my name. So when the time I went to the bakery, when it is kinda of late -evening time, Workers al looked tired after a long day. They didn't ask me my name and phone number. But it seemed like they knew what I ordered. so when they handed me a 10" birthday cake which has the exact words I wanted on the cake, I thought it was the cake and maybe the clerk made mistake on the size. (most their cakes look similar from outside) At least it is big enough for 12people. It looked huge and the price is bit pricy in my mind when I checked it out. The following day when all the friends came over gathering and we were about to cut the cake, the boss of the bakery called my phone directly. He first made sure that I didn't cut the cake yet, because it was a half Durian and half Taro special ordered cake! Because the clerk mistakenly gave it to me, he apologized and asked me to come over to pick a new fruit cake free of charge. Because I was far and I also had all my friends with me already, He decided just refund me all the money and promised in the future he will make me another one if I would like. I Actually end up being very happy with this specialty cake and all my friends also liked it. It was a very delicious and delicate one. Except the miscommunication. But hey what a surprise! since my birthday girl likes Durian. I appreciate that the owner of the bakery took the courage and steps to do the right thing. The fast response and unique cake made us a memorial birthday party. From now on, I know that this Asian "La petite French" bakery knows how to make real Asian desserts and make special orders by requests. I was a little hesitant when i saw a non-parisian looking guy manning this bakery with a french name. But he smiled and talked friendly with me and i instantly like this guy. I got a mango mousse for my sweet fix. I don't like stuff which is too sweet (cinnamon something i am looking at you) I like it to be subtle sweet. lingering sweet. This is what exactly this mousse was about. I came back to office and had kept this on my desk. Big Mistake! Should have kept in the fridge! Soon i began to have cravings, and i said to myself, " i will have a little. Just to taste." I had a little. Then a little. Then some more. In seconds the whole mousse was over. It is just awesome! I went in expecting the same generic muffins, bagels, and pies sold at other bakeries, but I found much, much more. The cakes, Danishes, strudels, and cookies were all made from scratch, and all birthday cakes, wedding cakes, and Christmas specialties, such as their yule logs, are all hand-decorated. Since I dearly love chocolate, I wasted no time in trying the chocolate mousse and the chocolate truffles. While those left me practically speechless, I was very much floored by their cherry Danishes. Sweet, mildly tart, moist and soft, the cherry Danish at La Petite France Bakery was truly something to cherish. The frosting was delectable enough to satisfy any sweet tooth, but the tartness of the cherries kept the Danish from overwhelming the taste buds. When you walk in, and notice the odd shade of orange walls, semi-classy decorative items, and random chotckes they sell around the bakery - you might be tempted to walk back out but bear with me here. THEY HAVE GREAT PASTRIES! And that's what any bakery is about. It's not like anyone comes to a bakery to hang out or admire the decor. I recommend their strawberry mousse, mango mousse, fruit tart, and tiramisu. (OK that's everything I bought that day.) The almond cookies looked delicious though as did some of their other pastries. I'll have to come back and try them. If you don't see something in the case that's on the menu, ask the staff. I was in the area for lunch over at Qboda with a friend. We were like well lets go grab a treat from here before we heard back to the meeting. This was around 2pm. When we went in the open hours on the door said they were open until 6pm. So thinking that they would be plenty open we went in. When we went in we were surprised to find one sad little croissant, a couple of truffles and well that was pretty much it. So we walked out with nothing. We figured since they were open another 4 hours there would be more selection then a single croissant. I might try it again very early in the morning when they have at least 2 croissants. I love this place. I've tried several of their mini cakes like their matcha tea cake, mango mousse cake, raspberry mousse cake, and several others. They are all not overbearingly sweet unlike many american bakeries. I will say that most of the employees are Asian. I had looked at the reviews before I went and saw others complain that they didn't serve anything French inside. I would disagree with this, they serve several mousse cakes, tarts, and they do have seasonal macarons. They do have some sweets, like durian cake, that cater more towards an Asian population as it is located next to several Asian markets and restaurants so it isn't too surprising. I come down from Colorado Springs and always get desserts from this bakery. It's definitely better than anything I've ever had in Colorado Springs. Overall I'd recommend this place it is delicious and the employees are always nice. read more
