Inside the resto, small and homey feels..

Everything was great! We were looking for a nice place for our first dinner in Paris. When we arrived few mins bef 7pm, it was still closed, with a note by the door saying they open at 7pm. By 7, we saw an old lady still setting the tables. Few mins later she was ready to receive customers. Mamie doesnt speak English so she asks me to open my translate app. She does everything, and doesnt have anyone in the resto to help her. It was the warmest, homiest dining experience ever. You will definitely miss your grandma who cooks and takes care of you when u visit her. When we entered, she seated us and served us complimentary sangria, bread and butter while we order. Several dressings followed. Then she prepared our orders. When food arrived, she gave complimentary fries. Few mins later, she brought out complimentary cookies and tea, plus souvenir scarf and wallet! And she didnt stop there. She served us a shot of homemade whisky (just a guess) that tasted good! By the way, we went to this resto bec reviews on Yelp says they serve good Coq Au Vin, but Mamie said it's not available bec his husband, who cooks the dish, is sick. :( Pls go thru our photos so you can imagine how our lovely experience went.

Great secret place to get food. This is a very cozy cute hole in the restaurant. They only have 4 tables. The owner is very nice and friendly. I got the poulet roti Frances with rice. The meat was delicious and tender. It was very cheap and great. The owner gave us a welcome sangria , bread , tea, cookies , and homemade whiskey for about 13 euros. She also took our pictures and gave us two keychains. The owner doesn't speak English but the menu is English. They take card.

Was searching for cheap eats in Paris and this came up on Google. Not what we were expecting when we walk in. This place is what you think of when you think hole in the wall. Only 2 2 person tables and 1 4 person table. It was priced well and we were really hungry, cold and tired so we were going no further. What a pleasant suprise! The only reason it's four stars is because the food was really good but not great. In all fairness you are in Paris. You feel like you have been invited to someone's grandmas house on a Sunday. It's one older lady running the whole joint with her mom in her air pod in a kitchen that isn't in the restaurant shuttling foot. She is warming soups etc on a residential range stove in the restaurant. You are started with homemade soup and bread. After your meal you are given mints, meringues and cookies with tea. To top it all off you get a tiny shot of whiskey with apples soaking in it. She takes a picture of you with your party at your table with your phone after all of that and even with the limited space I don't think she would mind a bit if you stayed for hours.

Mamie does it all. She's the hostess, the chef, the busser and the entertainer. This is a small place and we were lucky to have a table for 2 ready for us when we arrived. French cuisine was yummy and there are vegetarian dishes too. But the owner is the star of this place. We sat for an hour after dinner conversing about everything. We left feeling loved and stuffed!

Topped off our dinner and dessert with a final surprise!

Loved this cozy little restaurant! We were immediately greeted by the owner, Mamie, who seems to manage the entire place herself, and was lucky enough to be seated at one of the two tables inside. We were offered small complimentary glasses of sangria (which were refilled even after we ordered a cup) and a bread basket while we looked through the menu. Every dish and even the desserts are homemade! We decided to try her signature beef bourguignon and lasagna, both of which were amazing! She's also able to make the dishes herself after she takes your order because of the limited seating inside. After we were finished with our meal, she brought out dessert and souvenirs, and drank with us before we left. The service was incredible and it truly felt very homey from beginning to end. Both my friend and I would say that this was definitely one of the best experiences we've had during our stay in Paris. Please visit Mamie and give this place a try!

If at any point I'm ever in Paris for just one day or just one meal - I would do whatever I could to have that one meal at La Petite Rose des Sables. If you are in Paris as a couple - TRY THIS PLACE for sure. It was our favorite meal and dining experience of our entire honeymoon. The other great reviews of this really do it justice and there's so much more to enjoy once you're there in person. The place is cozy - three tables only and each table can only seat a couple. Everything from the decor and the music to the food and the performance the owner put on as she brought out dish after dish and drink after drink - it was all spectacular. My wife and I at this point in our trip had already had a few really great meals but this one topped all of them, not just because the food was amazing but because of the service and the atmosphere, too. The owner didn't speak English, or didn't let on that she did, and even with the language divide we felt more welcome in her restaurant than we did in 99% of the other places we visited. My wife had the pork with salad and fries, and I had the chicken with rice and salad, and everything tasted AMAZING from the first drink and the bread that was set down, all the way through the different desserts. I can't stress enough how much we loved this place and I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather eat dinner while in Paris.

This is the most cutest/welcoming/home cooked meal I have ever been to. The lady that runs the place is one of the sweetest ladies out there. She is so welcoming, treats you like a guest. We ordered the lasagna and the beef bourguignon was sooo good. She gave us sangria when we entered, and got us this mini charcuterie board( just perfect) and then the main course came, the fries - so so good. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience

If you blink you will miss this restaurant. Seating inside is very limited. The menu selections are small, but don't worry, the Madame will make sure you have eaten well. This is not gourmet cooking. This is more like visiting your Grandma out in a French country house. Very authentic cuisine with no frills. You must not be in a rush! Just sit back, enjoy some wine and let Madame take care of you. She exudes warmth, and caring about your dining experience. She speaks only French, but it works out well. Upon leaving, you receive a warm hug and fond farewell, along with a surprise shot of liqueur! $$

Well, we made it back to La Petite Rose des Sables after our first time there six years ago. It was wonderful to visit with Madame Zuezue again. She is precious! The food was just as I had remembered... Great!!! Madame Zuezue of course provided more than everything we expected, and we stayed for three hours dining and visiting. This is a wonderful place and a treasure of Paris. Madame Zuezue is generous and kept the food, drink, and surprises coming. We are likely to go back in the spring to visit and dine again.

Blissed out, with our Santa hats on.

What can I say about dinner at this restaurant? It's fun, it is an experience, and you will walk out fuller than you have ever been, loaded with gifts. We knew per all the reviews that getting to the restaurant early (20 minutes before it opened) might get us a seat. We were the first in line, but the restaurant filled up soon after (again, per all the other reviews, there are FOUR tables). Madame, who speaks really no English, seats you, gives you a glass of sangria, and then begins bringing out snacks, and then more snacks, until you order. We were at the restaurant for hours. We both ordered the beef bourguignon - I had rice on the side, my husband had potatoes. It is a huge amount of food and I can't believe I ate most of it, along with a side salad and the snacks! On, and let's not forget the bottle of red wine. Dessert came with the pre-fixed meal option, so we shared the creme brulee and it was amazing. We were at the restaurant on December 23rd, so Santa hats were passed out, then a scarf, a wallet, a mirrored compact, more snacks, a shot of some sweet liquor that Madame makes...what am I missing? It was surreal. You get to know your neighbors, because again four tables. it's fun to find out where everyone else is from. This is a dining experience worth having, if just to meet Madame and be treated like the most amazing guest in someone's private like home.

So I did extensive research on all the platforms to try and find out more about this place. All I knew was that I HAD to experience eating here given all the unique and positive reviews. To avoid any disappointment, I actually came for lunch instead of dinner time, which can apparently happen anytime after 8pm or something. And good thing we did because when we got there around noon, there was a sign saying they were booked solid for dinner for the week because they were serving a nearby hotel's guests. And by "they", I mean the one-woman show. I can't recall her name, but man she literally does everything from welcoming, seating, taking orders, cooking, cleaning up, and taking the time to snap photos with you! Keep in mind that she doesn't speak English - we were able to get by with the pictures on the menu, Google translate, and a friendly couple who were very fluent in French. Yes we felt silly with our blank stares, attempted French, and finger pointing...but that was all part of the beauty of the experience. Okay onto the food. I did the 3 course meal that included a salad, main course, and dessert. My friend opted for the same. She starts off with giving you a dish of olives and slices some baguette right at your table. We got 2 mixed salads, where when I say mixed I mean it had a TON of toppings on it. For our mains we got the beef bourguignon. Wow, the beef was so so tender that it melted in our mouths. It was place on top of a bed of lettuce accompanied with boiled potatoes. For our dessert, we got the creme brulee and chocolate mousse, both very good. We washed it all down with her house wine, bottles of stella artois, and her closing liquor to wash it down. The pleasant surprise of souvenirs at the end were such a joy - it really embodied her wonderful nature of hosting and caring for her guests. One of the best experiences during all my travels. We even tried to leave a tip for her, but she insisted that we donate into her church offering tin. What an angel. It may be difficult to get a table, but if you have the time to stake it out, do it! You won't regret it.

This place was highly recommended across all review sites and, after visiting, I can see why! Imagine a cozy, authentic, traditional meal at your mother's/grandmother's kitchen table. The warmth of the owners was a very special and wonderful experience. Although we do not speak French, and they did not speak English -communication was fabulous and non-judgmental. We were kindly seated even through the restaurant had not yet opened and were first welcomed with a small glass of sangria (you can switch lemon Fanta if you don't drink alcohol), along with olives, pistachios, baguette, and butter. We ordered beef bourguignon and canard. The beef bourguignon was traditional comfort food -seasoned and prepared well. The duck was cooked perfectly, very tender and moist, served with roasted prunes. We chose salad and potatoes as sides for both plates. The potatoes were delicious! I typically do not like potato wedges, but adore the way these were cooked -soft inside with a little chew on the outside. The salad was composed of beautiful crisp bib lettuce leaves, shredded carrot, cuke, radish, and tomato. Salad ingredients were incredibly fresh, colorful, and plump. Served on the side of the meal was a variety of mustards, aoli, and ketchup. After dinner we were served a small house-made fruit brandy and a few small chocolate malt candies. We certainly left incredibly full and happy. We were personally walked to the door and given a hug and kiss -such sweet people and such a fantastic experience. Because it was a holiday, we even received a hat, scarf, and Paris keychains (our sweet lady was very proud of her family and engaged us in a few guessing games for treats). Wow! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I'm leaving Paris knowing I got an incredible experience bc I felt like a Parisian local dining with family. Bar raised, mic dropped, stick a fork in me -I'm done. And oh so happy!

    Outside of the restaurant, lovely.

This little family run restaurant was my first stop after I arrived Paris. I love the lady (I think she is the owner's wife)!! She was so friendly and funny. She treated me like a family member rather than a customer. Under the table I sat at was a radio machine, the lady told me to hand switch the channel whenever the commercial is on (lol, it was super funny). I didn't feel offensive at all. At the end of my meal, she gave souvenirs to both my friend and I AND fed us her homemade Sake. I would revisit this place whenever I am in Paris again.

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup.
