But, it's a store packed full of Mexican products. I liked that they aren't trying to be a general grocery store with a smattering of Mexican foods. Instead 95% of products are imported from Mexico from real queso fresco, to chipotles, tostadas and tamrindo. It's nice to find traditional spices and ingredients for dishes we got hooked on while living in Mexico City. We even bought masa and corn husks there to make tamales and boy was it good. In such a small store you won't find everything you're looking for but it is a good sampling across the board. The staff was very friendly and even gave recipe advice. Only bummer is that it is a cash only store, who carries cash. I had to run to Walgreens up the street and use the ATM. I will be frequenting La Reyna often for all of my mexican product needs.

It was just like the one in the town I grew up in. The staff was nice and friendly. They had a good selection of Polish sausage in there and a decent selection of cold beer. What I also thought was really interesting is that they had a refrigerator right next to the checkout full of single serve fireball. That's pretty cool. I guess that tells you about the town. It was surrounded by older homes on Main Street. I mean the store probably wouldn't survive in a bigger city. It wasn't particularly clean it was a little bit dingy but it's the only game in town. The staff made up for it with friendliness and clearly they're hiring the neighborhood kids to work there which is great. When I went in there everybody knew everybody's name except for me. Small town stores like this are what make America great.

The store offers a wide array of the usual Mediterranean and middle eastern food goods, imports, grocery, fresh meat, frozen items, cheeses, labneh, yogurt (Greek style, Lebanese, others), fresh pondered coffee beans, coffee/eat kettles, kitchen ware, pita bread bags, candy, and all the known lovely sweets (baklava, warbaat, katayef, etc). They also sell pre-packaged assorted baklava sweets, as well as imported sweets. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The owner is very friendly and she always tries to accommodate the kitchen needs especially when it comes to fresh meat, poultry, lamb, etc. Cleveland/Akron area has a number of similar stores, but this one serves Tallmedge and Akron area which helps since there are not too many similar stores directly nearby in Tallmedge and south Akron area. Holidays always included huge platters of Hungarian sausage, both smoke and fresh. Summers and road trips, my grandparents always had plenty of Hungarian salami on hand. When I make the trip to Al's today, I'm still greeted by those familiar, favorite scents from my childhood, and all the sausage is always just as delicious. In fact, all the meats are wonderful, from the city chicken to the standing rib roast my mother always ordered for our Christmas dinner.

Well I worked, I purchased other items not on sale. At check out, I found out that the ad was wrong. The only way I noticed was that I checked my receipt. the manager offered to give me a raincheck for half gallons since I could buy two of them in place of the gallon I purchased. It seems the person ordering saw the gallons on sale and ordered them instead of the half gallons. I am done shopping there.
