Used them for 5 months, but had to quit when the pool turned green. They seemed friendly and responsive at first, but follow up has been poor. Started using them last November. Trying to keep this brief for my own time. From January to March I was supposed to spend 160 a month on pool cleaning, but pool was still dirty. So they charged an additional 120 in February for extra chemicals because I had a difficult pool. But end of March pool had a lot of algae and looked like it wasn't even being brushed. They wanted another $360 in more chemicals. This would bring my YTD to $960, averaging $320 a month instead of the agreed $160 per month, but the big problem was pool was dirty! I'm not paying 320 a month to have a green pool. Maybe if the pool was clean and they came to me asking to adjust the rate that would work. But I can't keep paying extra fees to have a dirty pool. The pool was so bad my new pool service had to charge an extra fee to get the pool started. They couldn't believe I had an active pool service. La pool guys had in fact been there earlier that week. Oh I forgot they did a filter cleaning duirng this time which I requested because pool flow was getting low. After the filter clean, pool flow was still low and pressure was at 20. They told me that's normal. Had to pay another service to come out. They cleaned it and got pressure down to 10 and a good flow. They said it looked like no cleaning was done. So add that to the money wasted this year. Other problems: They skipped cleanings without letting me know (holidays, rainy day, etc.) Only when I noticed the pool was dirty and asked about it, they would confirm they skipped last week. I need to be told when skipping weeks so I can clean the pool myself or make alternative arrangements. Requested service for an equipment issue. Their tech came and went and said they fixed it, but checked it and nothing was done and the same problem existed. Had to call a different pool service for repair and wasted time read more

Hired LA POOL GUYS through yelp after getting multiple quotes because seemed professional. Sent a different service person each week, missed multiple appointments without calling to reschedule (I had to call them!), cleaned the pool but left a ring around the perimeter of the pool and calcium deposits on the waterfall, and insects and debris in the jacuzzi spa. After 2 months they cancelled the contract because they no longer had employees to service my area. This won't be your typical review. My relationship with LA Pool Guys got off to a rocky start. After going through three different pool service companies, each one more disappointing than the next, I decided to give it one last go with LA Pool Guys to see if there is any hope out there for a consistent pool service for my home. So I called them up and they sent someone over. The guy they sent me shows up and doesn't do a very good job, and doesn't have a very good attitude either. So I thought that's it...as expected...another one bites the dust. No hope for a regular, professional and long term pool cleaning service. I'm just going to have to clean it myself. But unlike the other three pool service businesses before the owner of LA Pool Guys called me immediately after reading my one star Yelp review and took action to make things right. The other services could've cared less and never even reached out to me. But Bryan, the owner of LA Pool Guys was on it and reached out to me right away. And more importantly, when he called me he didn't just BS me and offer me a 15% discount to placate me but he actually took the time to hear me out and really listen to what I had to say. We talked for nearly half an hour. I'm a business owner myself and I could see that this was a business where the owner was really involved on a daily basis. Not just an absentee business owner who doesn't care. So I gave them another chance. I wouldn't want my business judged based on one bad employee so I gave them another chance and they came through. Okay, this is going to be an odd review. I Yelped LAPG because I needed help ASAP to rescue my pool (and my marriage) before it turned into a permanent swamp. Bryan of LAPGs responded almost immediately. He engaged with me online and called me to offer insight and guidance. Of course no quote for pool triage can be offered over the phone, right? They've gotta see the thing. While I'm on the phone with Bryan another pool guy shows up at my house. I called LA pool guys three weeks ago. I signed a contract I made an appointment for the guy to come. He shows up but doesn't have the proper chemicals with him and tells me he will come back on another day. He comes back a few days later again he does nothing and just leaves saying but he's gonna have to come back another day. I called him and ask him why he's come twice and done nothing andso much time has passed while my pool looks like a swamp. That was on a Wednesday. He said he would come back on Friday and get started. Friday comes around but he never shows up. He doesn't call or text. Just doesn't show up. So Friday evening at 7 PM when I realize he's not coming I called there's no answer. I called him the following morning twice and sent him a text message. No response. Finally at 11:20 AM he sent me a very long email six paragraphs long explaining why he couldn't make it I call him back that very same moment. Instead of apologizing he makes up a lot of excuses and then the phone call ends with him anging up on me and saying go F yourself I don't give a rats ass. The pool guys name is Nathan by the way. It is now Saturday 2 PM I have tried to contact LA pool guys with no success they don't answer the phones. I've left two messages and no one has bothered to call me back. Don't waste your time with these guys they're very unprofessional and rude and could care less. And my still pool looks like a swamp right now after three weeks of talking to them. read more

Gave them multiple chances already and they seem to not care at all about their customers. The one time they decided to actually show up, the pool was left dirty as if it was never even cleaned. Guess the guy decided to only strain stuff out of the pool and not scrub or vacuum the surface. We called to complain and they came back and did a great job, showing that they're capable of doing good work but again they just don't care enough to do a good job unless you complain. The next couple weeks they don't even show up, with no word or explanation. We again had to call and complain. Then again this week, another no show. Unbelievable. Another strange thing was, they have two phone lines, one for current customers and one for new customers. When we called to complain the first time, we used the current customer line and no one picked up. Don't let the picture with Connan fool you! Because it sure did fool me. This company is very unprofessional. Horrible customer service. The tech that was assigned to our pool isn't a tech. He's more like a pool cleaner guy. We had a couple of issues before they came in, which is why we hired them. Little did we know that while trying to fix those issues, this tech created new problems and broke our equipment. After the first few incidents, I asked to have a new pool guy sent out because we weren't satisfied with the work of the current guy. Did we get a new pool guy? NOPE! And instead of taking ownership of the mistakes their guy was doing, they had the audacity to try to blame US for whatever mistake was done. They tried to do the "HE SAID SHE SAID" game and I found that profoundly unprofessional. Isn't there a "rule"/saying that "the customer is always right?" Now I know there are instances where the customer isn't right but there are better ways to handle the situation. Another issue we've had is with the billing. I get emails with invoices and asking for permission to charge whatever work they've done and sometimes they've sent so many invoices that I just said to charge whatever outstanding balance there is. With that in mind, I think that everything that needs to be charged would be. Nope, I get emails later saying that I still to pay for X thing or Y thing when I thought they were already paid for. Overall, I would say my family would have been better off hiring someone to fix the pool issues and then maintaining the pool ourselves. read more

Anyway, this pool cleaning living social deal started out kinda ugly. had a no show, and i was kinda upset, but i called back, and they apologized and they went out of their way to go and make things right. At the end of the day, it actually helped my perception of this company. They might have dropped the ball initially, but they went completely out of their way for a stranger to go and make sure that they made things right for me. And to me, that stands out. They promptly sent out another guy and gave me a heads up phone call to prep me for the visit. And they were totally honest. Didn't try to upsell me on anything i didn't need. it was just an honest cleaning and inspection and some recommendations that i should change the filter soon. No B.S. about anything else. it was such a different experience than the nightmares i've had to face with the house cleaning living social vouchers. So i'm gonna be calling these guys back to clean my spa every few months from here on out. read more
