We never expected to use the "lifetime powertrain warranty" when purchased a Grand Caravan there in 2014. Sure enough, the transmission went out on a Thursday 8 years later and we called the dealer. The transmission was shot and had to be replaced. The dealer called the garage we use to service our vehicles to retrieve maintenance records (save those!) and helped us organize them for submission. Warranty approved. Pay the deducible, get a loaner, and on Tuesday morning we have a repaired van with a transmission that has 56k less miles and shifts smoother than the original. Harry, Ron, and the team at La Porte Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram treated us like family and went above and beyond. We will be back when it's time to purchase a vehicle. read more

My husband and I had purchased a vechicle from here not even 4 months ago. When purchasing this car the man in the finance debt doing the paperwork seemed drunk and gave us and my mother-in-law a massive hassle on the paperwork. Almost made us have to pay 600 more dollars to finalize the deal after the fact. Even after that issue, he messed up the paper work and we had to come back in 2 days later and redo all the paperwork, wasting another 3 or 4 hours after spending about the same amount of time doing paperwork the first time. Once negotiating ourselves back to the original price agreed, we ended up having issues with the car itself. The thermostat and coil had to be replaced due to overheating while idling and stuttering, costing 750 in total, then the car was still having issues and we took it to Honda and were told that LP Chrysler misdiagnosed and that it was a blown head gasket the whole time, along with timing chain, which cost us another 5k. We had to start a go fund me to fix the car as we already put everything we had onto the down payment and first two repairs. We've now paid over 20k for a car that we'd be lucky to sell now for 14k.. definitely do not recommend and will not be doing business with LP Chrysler ever again and recommend no one else buy a car here unless they want a money pit... read more

At one time I bought a lot of cars and trucks, new and used from LCDJR, working with the owner Matt. Not so much anymore. It seems that he prefers 1 big profit over several smaller profits. Maybe I am wrong, but seems that he has expanded and gotten greedy and difficult to work with. The last new Jeep I purchased from him, we fought for almost two weeks before he gave in. The last used car was almost the same. I recently made an honest and reasonable offer on an SUV that has been on his lot for over 30 days. We were about $500.00 apart on price. No arguments this time, he just ignored me. Happy to say that there are many other dealers out there that are happy to take my money. read more

Everything. We bought a 2014 explorer police interceptor from them. We didn't expect anything fancy, and we already own a dodge police car and love it (bought it elsewhere). There was an issue with the driver seat and they promised to fix the issues upon purchase. When driving home the day of purchase, every dash light on the vehicle lit up. They said they would fix it as well They fixed the seat and said they would fix the electrical as they promised this was common... they kept the car over a week to fix it and once the vehicle got home from being fixed.... All the dash lights came back on. They claimed they couldn't fix it due to it being police wiring issues ... but if you look at their lot ... that's pretty much all they have and had in the garage. This is no joke been an issue from day one and it's not been fixed as promised. Not only that, but they had no real info on the finance company to make sure we got our payments in correctly and on time. We had to look that up ourselves. We are not new to purchasing vehicles , I just wanted a grocery getter as I don't drive a lot. But, come on. Shady ! Don't bother. read more

Buyers Beware. Saleperson stated before purchasing that the vehicle was serviced & drove it himself to confirmed that upon receiving it there will be no issues. As I know the risk of purchasing a used vehicle there is going to be minor issues. But this is not the case, this dealership place my family and myself in endanger. As the third day of receiving the vehicle I took the family out to dinner and run some errands only to encounter one of the scary moment beside war-time as the vehicle start to shake violently and the front end stated to shuttered upon applying the brakes after exiting out of the highway. Shaking and frightening from that​ experience we decided it was best we stay away from the highway until the source of the issue was resolved. On the local road the vehicle drove new no issues. But the very next day which was a Sunday, I send the owner and saleperson to address my concerned, no response. Until I contact them on Monday, they stated that their service department did not find anything wrong or issues upon releasing the vehicle. With that said I made arrangements for a local Dodge Dealership to confirm my experience. Attached you find the copy from the local dealership. As stated the rotors was caused of concerned. Now I had to paid out of pocket for the replacement of the rotors as this Dealership ghosted me. Avoid this business. We purchased a used Jeep Wrangler from them. After driving 4 hours to get the jeep I had my mechanic inspect it and he found axel seals leaking, crank shaft leak, rattling in the exhaust, a sound from the wheel hub and an oil leak. We asked about it and were told it passed the safety inspection and they had seen no issues. We got it back to the shop the next day and got it on the rack and found the axel is bent, hence the seal leak and were currently working through the rest of the issues. We contacted our sales person Nick Crum and were told they won't stand by their safety inspected car. We work directly with Dodge and Jeep as well as AMW and QuietKat and have raised complaints with each business. Either their service department is really bad at their job and can't find a bent axel on a safety inspection or they knew about it and its fraud. Either way we have our corporate lawyers looking into their practices. read more

I have been looking for the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX and found one in La Porte, IN at La Porte Chrysler using TrueCar. After speaking with the dealership over a 3 day period I decided to drive the hour distance to purchase this vehicle. Upon arriving, the sales person instantly tells me they will only sell this vehicle $10K over sticker price. I was extremely upset an left the dealership. I returned to the dealership asking to speak with the Manager to find out why TrueCar send me a certificate from La Porte Chrysler for sticker price on the truck and was treated very badly and it turns out to be the owner (Matt Magnuson) who was very rude. I have purchased SEVERAL Dodge/Ram/Chrysler vehicles over the past 25 years and have NEVER been treated with such disrespect and rudeness by a car dealer in my life. read more

I bought a used car, 2009 Pontiac Vibe, from this dealer. They. Would not budge a penny off the $2500 because they assured me that the vehicle was well cared for and solid. Six days after we bought it all the check engine lights came on. Then, we found it had zero oil in it and dashboard lights started going on even after I put in about $1,000 in new valve cover gasket then more repairs of mass airflow sensor then more issues and we replaced the O2 sensor. It was still having the dash light up like a Christmas tree! I took it to two other dealers to get a better diagnosis, a Chevy dealer and a Toyota since it has a Toyota engine. Diagnosis is that it needs. New wiring harness to the tune of $1700. So $1300 out of my pocket in repairs total out of pocket and we got about 8000 miles out of it. I went back to LaPorte Chrysler asking them to make it right and they want to give me a different car with problems and on one pay an extra $2000 and another car, pay an extra $1500. When I told them I'd get lawyer, they said "Do whatever you want, we don't guarantee anything over 100,000 miles"--- even though a warranty package came to my house after we bought it. Buyer beware. The worst dealership experience. Owner refuses to call me or message me back. Purchased a vehicle here a few weeks ago, they refused to let us use our own credit union and wouldn't let us purchase our vehicle if we didn't finance through them! Also, they checked an oil leak on my vehicle and when fixed they took out my vehicle on a road test that was suppose to be a 25 mile ride and turned out to be a 79 mile drive!!! When asked no good reasoning was given except that once you hand them the keys to work on your vehicle they can do whatever they feel is needed without running it by the owner! No communication to keep you informed on how your vehicle is doing. They had mine from June 1st and I just got it back yesterday(June 11) Be cautious everyone they will be super nice to you when you purchase a car then they can talk to you however they please, no respect! read more

Bought a great Rubicon here but Customer Service is terrible. Had trouble reaching my salesman after the purchase. I thought it was a fluke and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward a year, my son is looking for a truck so I call the dealership. First guy I get tells me my salesman isn't there and it's better to deal with him. He repeatedly gives me NO answers and then has some OTHER guy blowing up my phone telling me to come in for answers (mind you, businesses are supposed to be helping accomadate consumers during Covid and I have an immune disorder). I call back, get a receptionist and again, leave another message for my salesman. No call back. Day 2, I call 6xs. Leave 3 messages for my salesman and 2 for the owner of the Dealership, Matt I'm told. 1 call at 3pm I get a recording that the Dealership is closed. Again, no call back. Day 3, I call AGAIN and am told salesman is "with someone", I complain that he's been with someone for 3 days and suddenly, he's free and gets on the phone. Says he's gotten NONE Of my messages. Says he'll see what he can do on 2 trucks I asked about. No call back. Next day, around 2, calls back and says he can't get me near my realistic expectations. I offer a trade, even giving him a vin, he says he has to call me back. End of the day has come and gone and I'm done! If you can't get me a trade price within the additional 5 hours you were open, you don't deserve our business. I've never dealt with a dealership that has NO time for customers. We've bought 10+ Mopars and had a fantastic relationship with the owner of another dealership who retired. Tom Crane really knew how to treat customers and had control of his employees. This place is a joke. No personal service whatsoever. There's little more precious than someones time and this place no longer deserves ours. We're buying elsewhere. read more
