Clean, quiet, safe parking, and close to AutoZone/Redbirds Park. Easy check in experience. Got a 4th floor room with a nice view of DT Memphis. Clean room. Brisk AC - which is always a plus! Reasonably quiet. Good bathroom shower water pressure! Breakfast is pretty standard for those ready to get going in the AM. There was an elevator breakdown, so we had to climb to the 4th floor - not terrible. Not great either. The cleaning staff ALSO had to hump their supplies up and down the stair case which surprised the heck out of me. Only 1 elevator bank? No "service elevator"? Hmmmmm. We arrived to check in and the power was out. Apparently it had been out most of the day and they had no time line on when it would be restored. I'm most upset with the fact that they let me book with them knowing the power was out. I guess they thought they would have had the issue resolved. I cannot believe how unbelievably awful this place is. The staff are beyond incompetent -- lazy, clueless, and totally uninterested in doing their jobs. Every interaction felt like we were disrupting their personal nap time. The service wasn't just bad, it was flat-out horrendous. The facility itself? Disgusting. Filthy floors, trash left behind, grime everywhere. It genuinely feels like no one has cleaned anything in months. I wouldn't let my worst enemy stay here. But the thing that pushed me over the edge: they left my baby outside our room for OVER AN HOUR because their key scanner battery died and apparently not a single person there knew how -- or cared enough -- to fix it. We stood there helpless while the staff shrugged like it wasn't their problem. The sheer negligence is infuriating. This place is a joke, a hazard, and a total embarrassment. DO. NOT. STAY. We spent 3 nights at this hotel in Sept 2024, based on price and reviews. It's a newer, modern, clean hotel, but unfortunately there is a lot of road noise and we had a bad experience with a noisy neighbor. Read on for the pros and cons. PROS: Moderately priced, clean, modern, newer hotel. Small indoor pool and gym. Friendly staff. Within walking distance for the fit to the Peabody, National Civil Rights Museum, Beale Street, Bass Pro Shop. About a 12 minute drive to Graceland. If this is your only destination in Memphis, I would stay closer to Graceland. Good 'Dove' brand toiletries. Basic buffet breakfast including waffles, bagels, oatmeal, cold cereal, muffins, apples, oranges, sugary yogurts. No bananas, no tea, not trays, no toppings for oatmeal. TV in breakfast area was showing movies, not news, which was odd. Complimentary outdoor parking. CONS: Room was noisy from the nearby road and intersection. Constant sirens, revving, motorcycles. Also doors slamming, people walking above. I would recommend a room on the parking lot side, but it's probably not that much quieter. We were told that the noise is worse on the weekends. Unfortunately, on our second night, we had a very noisy neighbor who had his TV us VERY loud and insisted on yelling at it at the top of his lungs every so often. (We think he was watching sports). This went on well into the night and despite using ear plugs and putting a pillow over our heads, we couldn't sleep. We called the front desk twice, after which the yelling stopped, but the TV was still loud. We eventually went down to the lobby at 2am and asked for a different room. We packed up all our stuff and settled in the new room by 3am, but didn't get to sleep until closer to 4am. We only got about 2 hours sleep that night. It was a terrible experience. OK, not completely the hotel's fault, but they could have handled it in a more prompt manner. They gave us a small percentage off our bill, but I think we should have been given a complimentary night. This was unlucky, but the loud traffic alone was enough not to recommend staying here. Bad lighting in the room. Memphis is a bit of a 'dodgy' city, so have your wits about you. Dining recommendation within walking distance: Arnold's BBQ. We ate there on our first night. I wanted to stay near Beale Street but didn't want to spend a ton of money or pay a lot for parking. This place has both. I went online to their website and got a decent rate, and it's close to Beale Street. What's even more attractive is the parking is free (and fairly secure) and they also provide a free, hot breakfast. The hotel offers free coffee / tea all day, and the local police stops by for a cup as well. Our room was clean, quiet and even has a fridge in the room. It's walking distance to Sun Records and if you're in shape, it's not that far to the Lorraine Motel. read more

Comfortable beds, clean facilities and walking distance to downtown. Sagar was the clerk who checked us in. He was so positive and helpful. When the power went out on one side of the room, he immediately responded, diagnosed the problem and moved us to another room. Literally within 10 minutes. I am planning a trip next year to Memphis again and I will definitely be back. *They also have a laundry facility for guests, which is cool if you need it. read more

NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Stayed here Sunday 24th September 2023. The rooms and hotel are very nice and convenient to down town. Sadly this was completely spoiled by a very rude, unprofessional lady on reception Monday morning. Went down to breakfast and found a sofa and coffee table well away from the dining area, trying to be respectful to other guests who may not like dogs. The receptionist immediately marched over and said with attitude that I couldn't sit there because we were too near the dining area. I politely asked if it was okay to sit in front of the reception area well away from other guests and on the other side of the lobby. I was abruptly told no, that I could only sit outside or in my room. Can't believe this is hotel policy as it is listed as dog friendly. I can only imagine she was a misinformed badly trained employee. Either way won't be staying at La Quinta again. I can recommend the Hampton inns if you are driving across country with a dog, where you will be welcomed and allowed to sit and have breakfast away from the dining rooms with your pet and treated professionally. I would also mention that our dog was extremely well behaved and sitting on the floor. read more

After reading all of the wonderful reviews, I figured this would be a great place to rest for my family... the staff we encountered were unpleasant to say the least. The "city view" was falsely advertised for the room I booked via La Quinta's website. (Pictured below) The trashcans in our room were full, crumbs on the bed, and indentions as though someone had just got up and left! We were too tired to complain and used our own blankets, but when we went to adjust the thermostat, it started smoking profusely to the point my children were coughing and begging to leave. Very unsettling the smoke detector didn't even go off. This was shocking as we have NEVER had a bad experience with La Quinta in the last 10yrs+ of our stays. 2 stars simply for the nice breakfast spread and pleasant conversation with other guests. read more

Upon arrival, multiple windows in the lobby were broken and boarded up. You need to hit a buzzer to enter the lobby. That's how bad the neighborhood is. The person at the front desk was very unpleasant and unhelpful. It's in a bad neighborhood and parking is in no way secure. Homeless people wandered about the outside of the location. I went down to get a cart to load my luggage and as I have never used a cart like this before she screamed at me and talked to me like I was stupid. Pulled up on the night of a baseball game. There were random crowds of people walking around, and it gave the overall impression of "not the greatest of areas" in town. Pulled in, parked under a light, and went in to cast our luck to the fates. Turns out, the place is absolutely great! Despite the location, they've obviously (and probably pretty recently) been renovated. The first floor rooms have extra high ceilings, with windows to match, and they make an otherwise plain little hotel room seem a bit more extravagant. The rest is really just as you'd expect. Standard subpar breakfast, but good staff. Clean and stocked. It was way better than I would've ever expected from the outside and the surrounding area. This hotel is great. The location looks a little iffy when you first get there but it's downtown Memphis in general. There is security that patrols at night and very bright if you're walking back from places around the hotel at night. They offer a shuttle to places within 2 miles of the hotel which is great bc almost everything is within the 2 miles in downtown Memphis. The front desk ladies I dealt with in the morning and night shifts were great. Wish I remembered their names. One even came to pick us up after our shuttle driver couldn't get back to us on Beale as the police shut down the roads. Big thanks to her again. The rooms are new and nice and it gets cold cold if you adjust the thermostat right. Walk in shower was nice after long days. They do allow pets but you can request the upper floors if you prefer to not want to be right next door. (I liked this bc barking will easy wake me up and I have a pet allergy so they made sure my room was clean just in case a previous guest had brought a pet before). Inside swimming pool and a small gym are included as well as free hot breakfast. I will be back if I come to Memphis again! read more

On our morning of our first night stay someone broke into our truck. We were parked underneath a camera directly in front of employee office window. The employee saw it happen and called police. No one notified us. When we saw our truck and went to the front desk the manager was useless. Didn't seem to care or offer a solution. Didn't offer to pay for windows or discount rooms. Hotel in walking distance to Beale street. Descent hotel. It is outdated, stains, wear and tear. We stayed in the king room suite. I would give the hotel itself 2 to 3 stars due to it being outdated. The front desk staff 5 stars. Housekeeping came everyday, 5 Stars. We never ate breakfast. I did go down for coffee. They did have alot of selections to accommodate vegetarians and etc. The breakfast area was clean. We went shopping to the Tanger outlet mall and another mall both within 15 miles. If you see my reviews, it is quite rare for me to leave a 1 or 2 star review however this hotel in my opinion deserves this rating. Rooms smelled terrible, very musty and like cigarette smoke. Dirty bathrooms and bedding that was faded and very rough. This hotel was almost $200 a night so the quality should have been much better. I travel and stay at many different hotels ranging from 2-5 star hotels and this one was not worthy for the price spent. I did call the front desk and she said she would have the manager call me back the next day.......they didn't. I had to call again and again no manager. This past week, I stayed at the La Quinta by Wyndham Memphis Primacy Parkway. From Thursday till Saturday, June 10 until 12, 2021. Ms. Valeria was the manager on site, and she took care of me very well, especially after Booking.com messed up my reservation. All her staff was polite, helpful, and personable. My room was nice and clean. The only reason I am given 4 out of 5 stars is due to my car tag being stolen my first night there; however, Ms. Valeria made sure we did an incident report and was very upset when I told her. The room it self was booked for us by a friend through booking.com ...they have charged our credit card twice for 311.52 ...we were told by La Quinta that this "other charge " was a "hold" it should fall off your card between 7 to 10 business days. We stayed there Dec 2-3. Here it is December 22nd and La Quinta says they have nothing to do with that...that it is Booking.com that has to take off the "hold" ...Booking.com says it's La Quinta's doing and they have to take off the "hold"... All I know is #1 I won't be staying there again... #2 NEVER would I use booking.com to book a room. I highly advise not to stay here unless you want to fight for weeks trying to not get charged twice for 1 night stay ...and to beat everything is IT"S Christmas time!!! RANT OVER!!!! read more

Traveling cross country using strictly la Quinta, this was by far the best experience we had-for both me and my kitty. It looks very updated, clean and bright compared to all the others we went to. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating as we had to change the itinerary multiple times. There's a really nice small gym and pool on the first floor, plus spa water and coffee available at all times. The security measures took the cake. There's security both in the hotel and outside in the parking lot which, as you'll come to find, is absolutely necessary in this city. We had a small trailer attached to our car that we were a bit worried about, but the security set himself up right in front of our car without us asking. The lights in the parking lot are incredibly bright, and there is only one entrance and exit to the lot that has a few MPD cameras near the entrance/exit. That helped us to feel safe. Did I mention my cat loved this hotel? He was very calm and happy compared to the other spots we were at. Thank you guys! read more

More importantly, be advised that Memphis is a shady and crime-ridden city. You don't want to walk around downtown late at night. Nice, clean, newer looking hotel. it was in a good location, downtown but not right on top of everything. Minutes walk to Beale St. The staff we met were very friendly. It offered a nice complimentary breakfast. Nicely set up and a cozy dining area.. The only downside we had was the bed aren't the most comfortable. Tossed and turned half the night. And it gets a little loud in the late night/ early morning hrs sounding like people racing down the street most the night. But that's no fault of the hotel. Clean!!! We were supposed to stay at another hotel, and left immediately due to the poor conditions. We saw the reviews and figured we would try it. I am a type a clean freak and this place was perfect. The rooms were Spacious and clean and everything was updated. I love that offer more than your standard channels as well, when your staying in hotels with kids it's hard sometimes to find programs for them especially if you need something to entertain them for a few minutes. Great place to stay would come back here again for sure. read more

She was working when we arrived late and when we went to breakfast the next morning. She went the extra mile and made our stay a great one. She had a sunny disposition and was really helpful. The only problem seemed to be the maintenance man. He was often in the hallways complaining loudly about 'kids breaking the laundry room door' or telling his coworker that he did things wrong causing g him extra work. He really needs to stop having loud, confrontational complaint sessions in the hallways. It makes guests uncomfortable. read more

Searched for reasonably priced hotels near downtown Memphis and decided on LaQuinta. The attendants at the front desk are knowledgeable and always willing to offer site seeing suggestions. Memphis LaQuinta surpassed our expectations. Hubby was floored with how spacious the room was for the price and location. I wouldn't recommend walking to Beale Street even though it was only a few blocks away. Free parking is gated and a free shuttle to downtown attractions will take you pretty much anywhere. Hotel security is inconspicuous but if you pay attention, you will see their presence while attempting to blend in as a hotel guest. Breakfast is provided - it's not much to write home about offering standard fare - make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, cereal, bread, yogurt, fruit, etc. But it beats a blank. Fresh coffee was always in the lobby and refreshed throughout the day. Give LaQuinta Memphis a try. You'll be glad you did. read more

So this hotel was very nice it had wonderful rooms and it smelled nice to and I had great stairwell with carpeting and a great exercise room with very expensive equipment and also as my brother is this big bows if I open 24 hours a day and open 24 hours a day so plus tax put the broom what is disappointing that they didn't replenish a whole lot the biscuits were burnt occasionally and also on the last day we stayed it was they changed everything it was it was terrible so like they change the gravy to a different gravy but the oatmeal was great I made delicious I've never had a better oatmeal at any hotel I've ever went to in my whole entire life so yeah that's my review oh and guess what read more
