    Mold in the shower ceiling

    Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. other guests playing loud tv and yelling all night. I mentioned these at the front desk upon check and that the experience was not worth the price. she came back with they are "the cleanest hotel at this exit" and just said sorry that I had to pay full price

    Bathroom vent. Filthy and creepy looking hole in the wall.

    I returned to the Fairfield Inn to Smithfield and am pleased that it has improved…read more My room was not ready at check-in as housekeeping was still working. But after sitting in the lobby for about 30 minutes, I was given an upgraded room. I'm not sure if this was because of my Titanium status or because of the wait. The prices are reasonable here. The parking lot was a good size, and the location was close to the outlets but not too far away from downtown either. It is also near I-95 and Route 301. I was provided a Welcome Bag with a bottle of water and some Chex Mix. My room was on the third floor, near the elevators. I wish there were more soundproofing, but the room was clean and provided an area for me to wind down. Extra pillows, sheets and blankets were provided. The cable channels were numerous this visit, and the WIFI was fast and reliable. I liked that there was natural light during the day and enough lighting at night. The mattresses are near the end of their life, as I could still feel the springs. Breakfast could use a few more offerings, and the tables could be cleaned in between guests.

Bed was old - when you hear creaking and feel the springs the mattress needs to be replaced. No soap in the bathroom was provided. Breakfast was not as good as it was in the past. No muffins, fruit, yogurt or oatmeal as is customary on the regular menu, nor any hard boiled eggs. Very little options. Our neighbors had a dog - who barked both late and early. They also slammed the door several times before we could fall asleep. We have stayed several times at this location before, but will not return.

    One of the worst experiences in a hotel/motel I've ever had…read more After a long (12 hour) day of driving, and many great reviews, my sister and niece decided to stay here with my service dog. From the moment we pulled in the place was sketchy. It was 10 pm- and people were lurking around in groups, and there was LITERALLY a lone man watching as we pulled in and smoking a BONG. My German shepherd was on high alert right from the jump. Our room was horrid. Mold on the walls and curtains, yellow stains on the comforters, bugs on the floor... not to mention the brown smudges in RANDOM places. I'm not even kidding. When I called the front desk and asked for a different room- she said they were sold out (which I found incredibly hard to believe) So we were stuck, exhausted and completely grossed out. I slept with one eye open due to the constant yelling outside. Also went to sleep in my shower cap and pants tucked into my socks. At 3:00 am a car full of loud and rowdy people pulled in outside the room, walking back and forth in front of our room screaming and arguing. Normally I don't allow my dog to bark at people, but I gave her the okay because I felt unsafe. The noise went on until about 4:30 am, and I sat awake watching nervously as my family slept. Also- lock on door was broken- so you can imagine the angst I felt. The grass outside was overgrown and there was debris littering the area. I don't know if it was just the area of the hotel we were in, or people use this hotel for god knows what- but it was a horrible experience.

When checking out I asked about the inaccessible bathroom - I couldn't use a regular bathtub - and was told to request a walk-in shower in notes on our reservation. It would have been better to tell me that when checking in!!

    I usually don't leave anything negative because everybody's trying to make a living everybody's…read moretrying to do business. I'm leaving this because whoever owns the place needs to make some changes. The woman at the front desk when I walk in there was pretty nice. Some guy was working on that little coffee area sitting here ranting away like "I'm not going to put two goddamn napkins in every time cuz everybody uses two napkins... well, they can use one or go without!". I'm just walking in there and I'm hearing this. I go in the room and there are stains on the bed.. very 1970s in terms of the room itself. I go to take a shower and the thing you pull up do the shower from the tub falls apart in my hand. The pool looks like a covered up cesspool. My girl wouldn't even lay in the bed.. I had to wash my hair in the sink I didn't want to bother ask anybody to help there. I go return the key this morning and the guy I think it's the same guy who was crabbing about the napkins the day before, was like "what do you want?".. I saw like five cars there so I am assuming nobody was staying there except me lol There's a lot of money at stake and if you only hire people that say "hey how you doing? how was your stay? Are you having a great day?? Can I get anything for you You want some coffee? Something nice.. It should not be that hard. I think the place is going on in business and maybe getting the right people in there but turn it around. Have them wear a shirt nice pants and slacks whatever. Have them be nice they represent you. People who may be going through their own negative situation personally don't need to share that with your clients and customers because nobody wants to hear it. Their job is to make the place look better .. Nobody owes you a living in this world The sooner they figure it out the better their lifes are going to be going forward You can't go in looking like a sweaty handyman with a sweaty old t-shirt on .. You got to look like a pro. There is big opportunity out there but now when you take it personal negative situation and say .. Oh, this job sucks and act like that.. That's not fair to the guy paying you. If it does, get another job. Whoever owns this place needs to make some changes The woman at first was relatively nice and just dealing with the guy ranting about how many napkins each person uses... right when I walk in. Then I walk in the turn of my keys the next morning after having the shower thing fall apart my hand the night before and my girlfriend not want to he would get near the bed because of the stains on the sheets. I was so dead tired I could have slept on a bed of nails... This guy had kind of a bushing beard I try to take a picture but it didn't come out.. anyway.. He's like "What do you want?".. I should have said "a refund!".. lol

Am I right ? Well, I noticed old stains in a ceiling going in.... Never fixed and painted, the room was with old cracks in a walls and needed painting....not a big deal.....we just need to spent a night..... Right ? But when I tried to wash my hands.....I noticed small curly hair on my towel....ok, I used another one..... And then blonde hair on my pillow....hmmmm, I am a brunnet. When I found open soap bar in a bath tub in a morning.....I almost was not surprised !!! Furniture is old and soiled and looks like it came straight from a garbage. Aweful place !!! We woke up at 6 am.... could not sleep well on this hard , uncomfortable bed and super high pillows and couldn't ran away faster.....needles to say.. .we did not stay for breakfast and it was not ready at 6:30 when we checked out anyway....but I already was so grossed out with different types of hair in my room....I think if I find it in my food..... My day would not start well.... Do not take chances in this place...!!!

    RUNNNN! If I could leave 0 stars I would! DO NOT STAY HERE! The place is FILTHY rooms are FILTHY…read moresheets STINK pool is FILTHY you can literally see the dirt floating around we didn't even put a toe in! The room has ROACHES! Lamps don't even have LIGHT BULBS! Front desk staff is RUDE JENNY to be specific along with MANAGEMENT and they're terrible LIARS! We stayed here 1 night and had to deal with ALL of these things which was very unfortunate! I called front desk immediately that night when we seen the roach crawling on our nightstand and was told she wrote down my information to give to the "owner" for me to get a refund but she DIDNT want to switch my room since we were checking out the very next morning. I stopped to the front desk to speak with the "owner" during checkout and was told he was "busy" he would give me a call before he left I NEVER got a call that day! I called the next day asked to speak with him and was told he wasn't in that day he'd be in the following day at 10AM. I called that following day at 10AM and was told he wouldn't be in until 12PM I immediately started expressing my concern with the lies I was dealing with and told her I would call back at 12PM she proceeded to say "wellll I'm not sure if he'll be here right at 12" so I said "WELL ILL CALL IN BETWEEN 12 & 1"! All of a sudden she wanted to ask questions about what happened with my stay when everything should've already been DOCUMENTED! I called back a little after 12 and still couldn't speak with him. Ended up getting a call from the owner just for us both to say HELLO and he hung up immediately just to SAY he called! I called back IMMEDIATELY when he hung up just for him to answer say hello and run to the front desk put me on MUTE and give Jenny the phone to LIE and say he wasn't there and to tell me the OWNER doesn't do refunds I would have to go through my third party I booked with! THEN she proceeded to LIE and say he called me previously that day but I didn't answer! I had my phone ALL day that day NEVER got a call from him so that was another lie! I called Expedia started the process and they called the hotel for JENNY to get on the phone and LIE LIE LIE! She told them we checked out a HOUR late when that was a LIE checkout is at 12PM checked out at 11:58AM! We IMMEDIATELY got breakfast right up the road when we left and I have the bank statements to PROVE IT! If we checked out late I would've been CHARGED! She also LIED and said I REFUSED to switch rooms that night I called and made the complaint! Who the fck wants to sleep with BUGS why wouldn't I want to switch rooms! I got NO rest in that hotel and I'm PREGNANT if only we were closer to home I would've LEFT IMMEDIATELY! I will post a few pictures that I have and I ALSO have our conversations recorded something they DONT know but do now that they're reading this review and will try to reply with fake a$$ apologies SAVE IT!

The room was the perfect temp Alaska ( I like it cold). As seen in the photo, the bed was sloppily made. The room has seen better day. It does appear clean. Apparently the offer breakfast bags. We are here 2 nights so I can add that review to this Yelp tomorrow. We are walking distance to many restaurants. We opted to grab COLDSTONE CREAMERY. Also very close to the outlets, Starbucks and more. I'll add more tomorrow/tomorrow evening.
