Here's the good, the middle, and bad: The good: the hotel is clean. It's clear their housekeeping crew cares. The breakfast is one of the better hotel breakfasts we've had. I like the stripe bed sheets. The AC unit is relatively quiet. The middle: the front desk agent was too preoccupied with paperwork when checking us in. It wasn't clear what her priority was. She was nice, but customer service goes a long way. The pool is closed for our entire stay (good thing we aren't here to swim). The bad: the bed is very firm and I don't know what the fill in the pillow is. Sleeping shouldn't be this difficult - especially when I use insomnia meds. Suggestion: bring your own pillow(s). The caulking in the room needs attention. It gives the impression the shower isn't as clean as it could be. Also, the towels have stains. Lastly, a train comes through (horn and all) at 5:44 am. So much for getting any sleep. All in all, it's an okay hotel; but I'm looking forward to going home. read more

My sweetheart and I did check into the La Quinta Inn&Suites by Wyndham last Friday for a friend's wedding the next day. Here's a couple of deviations that needs to be attended to. First off, the bed was rather hard on my sweetheart's back and on mine too! The pillows were a bit too soft considering that down feathers were used... :/ Secondly, Housekeeping came by 3 times while we were in our room. Seriously, housekeeping needs to leave us alone when we occupied our room! Last Saturday did Housekeeping took away our used towels and wash rags out of our shower room and NOT provide fresh ones in return! I had to go down to the check-in office to request new towels for when we took our showers last Saturday night. The drink and snack choices were okay. They kept us full Friday night after our scrumptious lunch at Twisted Roots Burger Co. One thing to note is that there were no International House Of Delights coffee creamer... We had the continental breakfast yesterday and it was okay... the scrambled eggs were bland and required salt and pepper to bring back it taste. The biscuit was okay and not too bad. The sausage and gravy tasted almost like Cream Of Mushroom. Please offer more yogurt choices beside the Activia brand and where is the milk for the cereals!? I didn't see any milk available when I saw the 3 choices of cereal... Overall, it was an okay stay beside our bed being not that comfortable... :/ read more

We stayed at the La Quinta Inn Waco two nights for the Baylor vs Texas football game and overall had a nice stay. The checkin was quick and had a nice room. This hotel still has that newness to it where they have a bar, pantry, and breakfast in the morning. They have a fitness room and a pool/spa which is outside but build underneath the building like a cave. A outdoor patio is next to it. We had a double bed room and everything was in working order and had a small fridge to place drinks in. The bed was comfortable and towels soft. It is also located near some restaurants and a few blocks away from the Magnolia Market (Silos). There is plenty of parking and felt very safe staying here. And best they serve breakfast in the morning. read more

Had a terrible experience booking a room here. Needed to move the stay by a couple weeks due to getting sick, and the hotel was completely unhelpful and refused to do it without charging the entire reservation cost again. I would not recommend to stay here. read more

Asked about a promotion I saw when I signed on their WiFi... she informed me in a rude way " that they would never do that kind of promotion" talking to me like how dare I ask her that... Yet I saw it when I signed into their WiFi... anyways... she is super rude.... Was gonna stay another night but now will be checking out in the morning... The parking lot was a little sketchy so don't leave anything visible in your car. The inside of the hotel was very nice! The mattress was great and the room was spacious. There is a $25 fee for brining a pet but overall a good place to stay. read more

Pros: The hotel is stylish, clean, and in a great location close to everything. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Cons: the walls are very thin. When I checked in they did ask if I had a room preference and I told them no. If you are given a preference upon check on, request a room away from other guests if possible. The other guests weren't being overly noisy, just going in and out of their rooms and talking and the sound carries a lot at 12am. The water pressure is pretty low. If you have long hair you should skip conditioner. I took a very long time trying to rinse it all out of my hair and was ultimately unsuccessful. Their breakfast (during covid) leaves a lot to be desired. When you check in they give you a list to select your preferences of OJ or water, muffin, granola bar flavor, and fruit cup or apple sauce. Then there is a paper bag for you to pick up in the morning of your selected options. While I appreciate their consideration of trying to keep guests safe during covid, something reheatable in your room would be nice, like an egg biscuit or breakfast taco. Overall this hotel is an okay choice if you're looking for someplace clean, in a safe area, and good location. read more

Good clean facilities. Beds are comfortable. Friendly staff. Easy to get to off highway. Plenty parking. Very good lighting in parking.

The La Quinta downtown hotel was the best part of our visit to Waco. We only paid $130+ on Priceline including complimentary breakfast! The complimentary breakfast had a variety of: scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, muffins, oatmeal, bagels, yogurt, cereal, and fruit juices. It's a great value for the location! The La Quinta downtown is located within ten minutes of the Dr. Pepper Museum, Magnolia Table, and Magnolia Market. The hotel was very updated, new, clean, and they allowed dogs for a $0 deposit! There was lots of grass in the back of the hotel, including poop bags and a poop trash can. They also give complimentary toothpaste at the snack shop. Bottled water was only $1. Standard checkout time was at noon. read more

We've stayed at a lot of La Quinta locations this trip, and this one was almost perfect like the rest. The location was clean and fresh, plenty of parking in a well lit parking lot. The pool area was clean, and not super busy, and the fitness room had enough equipment to accommodate a few people using it at once. The only complaint we had was that our AC unit in our room seemed a little weak. It was fine, but it didn't quite feel as cool as we would have liked. We skipped the breakfast, but the options on their menu sheet seemed like they'd be good. We'll stay here again if we're ever coming through Waco! read more

I will never stay at another La Quinta again. I had 2 rooms reserved that were adjoining. I was traveling with my sister in-law and a toddler so to be safe we got adjoining rooms way a head of time. I had called to extend our stay a day after making reservations and was never told there would be a problem. The rooms were clean but my shower didn't drain well I thought I was going to need to call them to come drain it. We left early that morning and came back by 12:30 only to find our room key for one of the rooms wasn't working. My sister in-law went to get the key reworked only to find they had us leaving that day. The front desk agent working Friday Oct 15th at 1 pm was extremely rude to us. I have been in her position being an ex guest services agent myself and an apology or empathy goes a long way. We got none of that. She was rude and didn't seem to care one way or another that it was their mistake that they didn't extend both rooms when I called to extend our stay. I was really disappointed in how we were treated. We ended up not staying the night again and all we really wanted was for the guest services agent to acknowledge they made a mistake. read more

This is a new hotel and the rooms are all fresh and new. Our king executive suite is pretty small. We thought there would be more of a sitting area away from the beds, but it is all squeezed pretty tightly into one room. The beds and pull out sofa bed are new and comfy. The bathroom is spacious and clean. No wooden luggage racks and not enough room for 4 suitcases. Lots of charging stations built into the nightstands and desk for easy charging of our phones and ipads. The free breakfast was fair, nothing special. They do have fun, Texas shaped waffle makers. They also have a nice bar area for evening cocktails, but it was empty the three nights we were here. The hotel is in the west campus area, close to Baylor, Magnolia and off i35. The neighborhood behind the hotel seems a bit sketchy, but the hotel parking lot is well lit at night and feels safe. read more

In town for a family funeral and we had our Labrador so we booked a room at this La Quinta. I'm always hesitant booking a room with a pet friendly hotel due to the potential pet smell and hair that can be left behind. We had none of those issues at this property. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was out of this world comfortable. The ladies at front desk who checked us in, were incredibly helpful and very sympathetic to our loved one who was a victim of a violent crime. The lobby was clean and smelled nice and they also had a bar available to us. Breakfast the next morning was tasty and very sufficient. Sausage and bacon were both very good. All in all, this was a very pleasant stay and we would have no problem booking a room in the future at this property. read more

Clean, well maintained property with a friendly staff! Breakfast was excellent with bacon, eggs, hash browns, oatmeal, make your own waffles in the shape of the state, of course;), yogurt, bagels, toast, OJ, coffees and fresh fruit! The rooms are spacious, and yes, clean. Some of the amenities are coffee, refrigerator, microwave oven, large screen tv, comfortable beds and a very good air conditioner! When we made a call for claim about a loud noise from next door, the front desk took care of the matter immediately so we were able to rest for the rest of night. Reason why I am giving this place a 1 star rating is.. my 2 children and I were using the pool on Wednesday (8/11/2021) evening. We were there about 30-40 minutes, until 2 (hispanic) men came out and just sat there and were acting very suspicious. They were NOT in pool attire, they were both wearing baseball caps, and were both on their phones. They were NOT sitting in the lounge area, they sat in 2 chairs in a corner (by the spa) and just stared at my children the inbetween glances at their phones. I felt completely uncomfortable and scared. I quickly got my children out of the pool and left. I thought they would jump into the pool as we left, maybe waiting for us to finish as to not interfere with my children's playing, but they continued to sit there for a few minutes then left. I was hiding to watch them , and as soon as we left, they left. I've heard of human trafficking at hotels along highway 35, so I am asking all people to stay vigilant!! This was a very suspicious experience. read more

I know a lot of people love feather pillows but for some of us it's a severe allergy. I was first told they had hypoallergenic feather pillows so there wouldn't be a problem...NOT TRUE! When I explained I was beginning to have a reaction I was told there were no alternative pillows so here I now have to sleep with a blanket for a pillow. Seriously La Quinta this isn't an uncommon allergy! I'm beyond frustrated and doubtful I'll get much sleep tonight. read more

A friend and I stayed four nights here. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was great. It seemed every place we wanted to go, with the exception of two places that were farther out of town, were no more than an eleven minute drive away. It was easy to make stops back at the hotel to drop off leftovers in the fridge or candles we had purchased that we didn't want to have melt in the car. The color scheme of the hotel was odd with super bright colors like hot pink & bright orange. The comforters on the bed were awfully thick for Texas, and while some hotels tend to layer their blankets, this hotel just had a sheet followed by a very thick, weighted comforter. I found myself getting hot in the night and getting up to turn the thermostat down a bit in the room. Also, cold water did not seem to be an option in the room. After brushing my teeth, I'd have to rinse my mouth out with warm water. They did have ice water available in the lobby all day, so that served me well! (Also coffee available in the lobby.) Fresh, new hotel with comfortable beds and nice amenities. Friendly front desk staff. We didn't have a pet along but good to know they are so pet friendly for future trips with dog along. Only thing is I wish the pool was fully indoors-it's "inside" the building but is fully open to the outside with a big patio. Never staying here again. The staff is really unprofessional and not trained well. I booked my reservation through hotels.com, when I got to the hotel the receptionist that checked me in charged me for the room again even though I had already paid it through the 3rd party ? Are you not paying attention to what you are doing to realize this reservation was made through another party and is already paid for ? She asked me to swipe my card and I did, at the moment I thought it was odd but I didn't question her actions because I trusted she knew how to do her job. Me being nice didn't want to question this woman doing her job, it would be rude right. I thought maybe that's how they verify I use the same card that the reservation was made. A week later checking my statements I noticed. I called, no manager, he would be there the next day at 3. I wasn't aware that the manager just comes in to check around and leaves an hour and a half later which is when I called back so again no manager to assist me to get my money back. Finally someone was able to refund me. This doesn't just happen or a simple mistake. I should have to be chasing people down to get a refund. read more
