Turns out there was a construction accident nearby that had something to do with the unfortunate confluence of a piece of heavy equipment, a utility pole, and a transformer. So the phones, computer system and electricity was gonzo. But the staff was so incredibly nice and kind to us, we declined to move our reservation to another Residence Inn and checked in a few hours later after lunch and some sightseeing. Our suite was great with excellent flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, bed, bathroom and a great shower. We loved the free water and soft drinks available all day, as well as their included breakfast and even a beer/wine/snacks Happy Hour. We could not have been happier with our time at the Residence Inn Waco. read more

This hotel is by no means "great" but we stayed here for one night while visiting the silos and it did everything we needed it to do. The room was pretty clean, you could see it was outdated/ things that weren't really a focus but other than that it was quiet and the staff was really friendly. We did have an issue with the water heater or ac unit (whatever was locked up in the closet) leaked really bad and flooded the carpet in our room. We aren't overly picky/ don't like to complain much and accidents happen so that wasn't really a big deal for us but they did seem upset about it and immediately sent someone to go check it out once I told them about the issue. Only grab and go breakfast for now. They offered coffee, tea, bagels, cereal, and yogurt. You had to take your food to your room to eat. Masks weren't required but we wore ours anyway. Overall nice stay for an overnight. read more

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Residence Inn by Marriott Waco! From the moment I arrived, everything about this hotel felt welcoming, comfortable, and incredibly traveler-friendly. The location is fantastic--only about a 10-minute walk to Baylor University, which made getting around the area so easy. Whether you're visiting the campus, passing through town, or staying a few days, it's the perfect spot. My room truly felt like a home away from home. The full kitchen setup was impressive--stove, full-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, dish soap and sponges, plus a coffee setup ready to go. There was also a dining table, work desk, living room area, and a separate bedroom, which made the space feel more like a comfortable apartment than a typical hotel room. It's perfect for travelers who want space to relax or stay longer. A special shoutout to Ricardo at the front desk--he checked me in and was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly, relatable, and welcoming, instantly making me feel comfortable after a long day of travel. Great hospitality like that really stands out. Overall, this was a fantastic stay in a charming small-town setting, I would absolutely stay here again. The good: Employees are nice, location is good, breakfast is convenient. The bad: the rooms are old, but I do like the layout. The grounds are kinda dirty, and unfortunately we caught a HUGE ROACH crawling around on the bathroom floor!! We reported it to the front desk, as It is highly unusual for that to happen. They offered to spray around our room, but we didn't want to deal with the chemicals. Otherwise, the hospitality here was good, but this Inn really needs a makeover...... I travel a lot in Marriotts - over 60' nights already this year and Platinum status . This hotel has been one of the worst I have been in by far! Not exactly located in a great area - I checked in and the lobby was a disaster! Rather than install plastic screens like every other business and definitely every other Marriott I have been to, they barricaded the front desk with tables to create distance! The lobby has a dining area with dated Forest green carpet and just looked tired and old as well as haphazard due to the tables! I almost walked out then - wish I had. It was so tacky! I was not asked for any form of ID upon check in which is a security risk but simply told they needed to check if my room was clean. The lady at the front desk was very nice though. I doubt you could even show her ID or a credit card as you would have to seriously stretch over the wall of tables!! I was directed to a tiny elevator that I am surprised meets regulations ( seriously smallest election have ever seen at a hotel ) and was beat to heck inside with chipped paint and base boards. Food on the floor .The hotel halls are also dated and did not smell particularly fresh. My room was cleanish but the vents were filthy, dishwasher door was falling off , fridge had old food stains , bathroom was pretty gross, toilet barley flushed , dead bugs all over the windowsill!! I was deeply uncomfortable here and almost called my corporate travel department to request a switch! This hotel was also more expensive than others in the area - for reference you can get the 5 star Venetian in Vegas cheaper than this!!! I can only assume they charge for the size of the room as it's certainly not the quality Could not wait to wake up and leave !! read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible the hotel is outdated and as soon as i walked in to this place of business a lady i would love to call her something else but thatd not allowed her name is Meghan Byram she was very rude to me i asked if a bell hop was available she replys they all are in use if theres none down there the correct thing to say to a customer would be they may be all in use but i can send someone to see if they are available as i explained to her i was bringing cake in i was going to celebrate a small little party she instantly we dont allow birthday parties i was like mam its just a lil get together for my baby she still continues to be extremely rude already trying to profile a woman of color and played victim after i told her she was making ne uncomfortable she says im making her uncomfortable im like howher explanation was poor she said because i talked over her which i never did!!! Shes a evil person beware if you ever go in there she will possibly make your stay hell!!! We had a blast anyways and i found another hotel and they didnt give me not one problem and i didnt give them any she needs to fix her attitude shes not pretty the least she could be is pretty on the inside read more

Normally I would give the Residence Inn Suites five or even six stars as this family of hotels have been my family's Go To whenever and wherever we are traveling. We have been staying with them for over 15 years; my husband also travels a LOT with his job and his company has always used them for their preferred long term stays. I gotta say tho that this particular location has been less than stellar. I know that with Covid difficulties normal amenities like breakfast buffet n social events cannot be done n that's completely understandable but that's no excuse for not maintaining top notch facilities n customer service for your guests. The cleaning staff and MOST of the front desk staff have been wonderful; above board matter of fact but in a few instances basic customer service has been lacking. The propane went out last week and STILL hasn't been seen to, one of the only TWO washers for the entire location has been out of commission for almost a week now, and one of the dryers works less than optimally. I am afraid to touch the banisters in the stairwells as the same outside flora has been on the stairs since we got here a month ago so idk know the last time they've been wiped down. I would love to give this location a higher rating as I still love the Residence Inns and fully Intend to continue to utilize their locations, but I'm not sure if it's the proximity to the university??? Great hotel, good location. We stayed 1/28/2022, 1 night. We arrived early and they allowed us to check in. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Our check in process was very fast and efficient. They informed us breakfast would be served the next morning and showed us where and told us when it would be available. Room was clean and spacious. More than what we needed for 1 night, didn't take any pics. Perfect for an extended stay for 1 person or a couple. Parking and Breakfast were free. Basketball court and pavilion/grill available. Nice outdoor space for warmer days. Pool was nice with a pretty good gym. Breakfast was pretty good. Eggs, sausage and oatmeal with good toppings. Coffee tea options with good creamers and tea selections. Lots of breads and bagels. Not a ton of options, but a very good selection for a breakfast included with the price of your room. read more

Alice, the awful! She was the person who checked us in and was just as rude as you could be. We reserved a double room on the third floor 8 months ago and confirmed it 2 weeks prior to our arrival. We were staying for a week and are platinum members with Marriot. She said too bad those rooms aren't available; we only have a double room on the first floor, and it's a handicapped room. We had to accept it; it was the worst rooms we ever stayed in. It was worn down and smelled like wet dog. She didn't even offer to move us later in the week. Every time I needed something she was there being rude or just interrupts me as I was speaking to someone else at the desk. She said the guest that was coming down for our daughter's Baylor graduation would be right next to our room. Well, she was put as far away as she could be when she arrived. Alice should never be at the front desk of any business. Even our daughter got to enjoy her rudeness. I hate to point her out directly, but she was that unprofessional. read more

This hotel was great while staying in Waco for a Baylor football game. Unfortunately the game got canceled the night before due to Covid but we decided to stay the night anyway and boy did we have fun. The only issue I had is that the exit door on the first floor by the parking lot would not open and I saw this as a safety issue but also as a poor management issue. I think the liability of this was through the roof and it only makes me wonder what other issues were unseen. The indoor pool was great and the outside patio even greater. Nice comfortable furniture in couch seating around a fire pit or dining seating. There is also an outdoor grill for grilling food which we saw other guests use. The room was without issue. We had a 2 bedroom suite so the kids could stay in one room and mom and dad the other. No issues and a great value at the price. Had the exit door worked normally definitely a 4 star hotel read more

If I could give an unlimited amount of stars I would!!! I called this location before we left San Antonio to see if we would be able to get an early check in as we would be arriving before the 3pm check in time and it was necessary that we be able to check in as my husband was heading to a job site in Palestine as soon as we got there. So Ms. Terry answers the phone and is sooooo pleasant. She took her time to find out about the room we were requesting as we needed the 2 bedroom suite due to the amount of people. She was unable to accommodate as they wait 72 hours due to COVID to clean the rooms. Those rooms were not yet attainable because of the cleaning procedures in place. I get that. Not only do they need to keep their guests safe, but their employees as well. So moving on. I asked if they would happen to have 2 rooms close to one another and she stated yes and they were available for early check in AND I could have them both for the same rate as the one room I was needing! (Without me asking, and frankly I wouldn't have because it never crossed my mind) Now I don't know about y'all, but I think that is A++++ service. I was really happy to have chosen this location and I hadn't even checked in yet. Check in was a breeze. She took my info over the phone. When I got there she asked for my cc number and never touched it. She was even more pleasant in person. I cannot day enough good things about her and that location. The rooms smelled amazing and were super clean. The temp was just right and there was not too much light. Fully stocked with dishes. Ice machine and coffee pot worked correctly. There was another lady in the evenings that was just as nice. I didn't catch her name but she said she was from another location in town, so they are lucky to have her as well. Best stay I have had in a while. Will make this my go to when in town for sure!!! read more

What a terrible place. $100 pet deposit for a documented SERVICE dog which is completely illegal for some gross ass room in the middle of a construction zone. This place is horribly ran, management/staff doesn't answer the phone. No help or support. Ended up not even staying and charged anyways. We came to Waco to visit Magnolia Christmas celebration, and it was wonderful. I had average expectations for this residence inn, I have over 800 nights in hotels. This hotel not just exceeded my expectations the blew them up. Over the top Custer care, they did everything to make our stay with friends wonderful. Being cold this week end the had the finest hot chocolate bar I have ever had. See picture. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Waco. Our family reunion at Residence Inn of Waco gave us plenty of room to relax and make in-room meals just like home. The rooms are all clean and quiet. We especially needed the furnished kitchen for this visit. All six family members were comfortable and safe in 5 rooms for our week stay from January 28 to Feb 3. The lush beds are so cozy to doze right to sleep! This worked out to be very economical for our budget and to join Marriott for reward points! This property is an aged property for a Residence Inn- you can see it the rooms and in every corner. I received a call the night before stating that the pool is undergoing renovations and cannot be used-- the clerk said they have tried to tell Marriott but website fo does not get updated. Translation to me-- we have been getting blasted by people after they check in and find out no pool. On the drive in the front desk called me and said we have been upgraded to a two room suite--- nice perk. Front desk was very nice and attentive during the stay. A couple things really stood out here 1.) Comp breakfast is laughable... this property is still in pandemic mode-- offering were Costco pastries, yogurt, sauce cup sized apple juices, and just Cheerios??? I had run to down the street to 711 to get cereal for my crew. There is a lot variance on breakfast offerings right now at Marriott properties- I've recently stayed at Fairfield's with much better breakfast. 2.) corner store has nothing, no alcohol, just a couple packs of chips-- truly nothing worthy of a standard snack shop at a RI. The real plus here is housekeeping is on point- yes, the rooms are run down, but they are CLEAN- as I'm sure many of us do a room check when walk in a place- this struck me as very clean and housekeeping is doing a great job. This hotel was right near the silos and the freeways. Everyone who helped us was very friendly. The room was spacious and it had a small kitchenette which I really liked so you could eat something and heat up food . One of the nights we stayed, in the early evening they had hamburgers, fruit, chips and salad Plus wine, beer and soft drinks. Believe it or not it was very good. I gave it a four-star due to the price if it was more expensive I would not of given it a four star. read more

While on a road trip, we spent three nights at the Residence Inn on University Parks Dr. Close to the Silos, museums & restaurants, we found it very convenient for our tourist activities. (Actually within walking distance to many things, but it was too hot & muggy to walk.) A terrific place, we really enjoyed our stay. Clean, quiet rooms & a friendly staff. The breakfasts were the usual fruits, eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles & so on, but the evening "mix get-together" free meals & drinks were much better & completely unexpected. Full size kitchen areas, an indoor pool & a fitness center were there also. Parking was easy, but the city was doing some street repairs making it difficult to enter & exit. We liked it so much we wanted to stay again for two nights during our return trip home. When we called, we were told they had no vacancies. Because of our recommendation, we had family there who mentioned to the front desk we had called. She checked & said "We had 5 empty rooms last night." Don't know why we were told different. In any case we spent the time at another property. Overlooking the mix-up of vacancy's we would recommend this place & will definitely stay again. read more

I didn't hear a train, as some have said. What I did hear is good morning, good afternoon, sir, how are you doing?, and much more pleasantries. We only stayed one night, but everything was clean, neat, and freshly prepared. The only quasi negative thing I would say is that the hotel is not in the greatest area, but I did not feel unsafe with my family. What are you gonna do though? I mean... it is Waco after all! This is a nice place to stay while in Waco. Honestly, I prefer the hotel Indigo next door. They had a renovation I think a year or two ago. So it is kinda nice. The rooms are nice, because they have a kitchenette and living room. So it is nice if you are here for awhile. The staff is super friendly as well. Especially Terry. My only 2 complaints are as follows: 1. They allow dogs, which I find very disgusting, what if people have allergies. 2. Their breakfast is horrible, but hey it's free. A lot of the guests here are not very nice either, when I stayed at the indigo, the guests were alot friendlier. read more

Our house flooded in a plumbing incident, and our insurance company ushered us to this hotel, telling us that we'd be staying there a month or more while they rebuilt our floors throughout the house. My mother was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer during this time and had a double masectomy scheduled to take place while we would be living in the hotel, so naturally both of us were quite nervous about the experience. First off, the hotel itself is incredibly clean, well-maintained, and nice. It's not a luxury resort, but the rooms are very comfortable, with soft, large beds and flat-screen TVs. You get basic cable plus a few extras and free wi-fi that's pretty quick, although I did have a bit of lag while streaming video from Netflix. The bathrooms are spacious and well-stocked, and the kitchens are loaded with basic cookware, appliances, silverware, tupperware, etc so that you can cook your own meals with minimal inconvenience. Every morning the place serves breakfast, and the spread is pretty great. They have oatmeal, waffles, grits, scrambled eggs (made from actual liquid eggs, not powder-- the chef showed me the container when I asked!), sausage, hashbrowns and more. They also have a wide selection of yogurt, fresh fruit, granola parfaits, a variety of juices and milks, danishes, breads, bagels, muffins (including AMAZING chocolate-cheesecake muffins) and even several different kinds of coffee. Three evenings a week they also serve dinner, which is all-you-can-eat and completely free. When we stayed, Monday nights were 'nacho night', which consisted of chips, ground meat, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, pico, rice, beans and more. They also had a keg of Budweiser for anyone old enough to drink it! Tuesday night they did a chicken spaghetti type dish with a salad bar and a chocolate cake for dessert, and Wednesday they had barbecue, salad, pudding, baked beans and more. It saved us a ton of money on food while we were there and they even let us make to-go plates to take up to our rooms to nosh on the leftovers later! The staff were very courteous and friendly, and after two or three days they knew us by name. When my mother had her surgery, the staff would regularly check on her while I was at work, calling the room or stopping by to make sure she didn't need anything. When it came time for us to check out after a month, the front desk clerk came to our room and helped us load the luggage racks with our belongings, escorted us out to our cars, helped us load the cars, and even carried my mother's get-well flowers for us in the 105-degree heat. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, it was a dream and they did their absolute best to make us feel like it was a home away from home. read more

While the housekeeping staff and kitchen staff has been excellent, the ladies at the front desk made me feel uncomfortable there after being displaced out of our home from a flood. I hope to NEVER have to use this hotel again. Noisy location (trains and traffic), their "Marriott Queen" bed is really a full size bed (Marriott uses their own measuring system for determining what a bed size is). No roll-away beds available. Alarm clock and phone system makes weird noises so I had to unplug it. Their "free high-speed internet" is a 1Mbps connection (Marriott measurement system again I guess). Staff is friendly and helpful and the room is clean, so they have that going for them. Overall, way overpriced for what you get. read more

Texans are known for being friendly. The people of Waco and particularly those at the Residence Inn are a whole other level of friendly. Everyone from the front desk to the housekeepers to the maintenance man will wish you a good day or inquire about your day or compliment your outfit... etc They are very hospitable. We always feel so welcome here. Beyond that, this is the nicest Residence Inn I've visited. The rooms are large with our 2 bedroom having a King bed in one room and a Queen bed in the other. (This is not the norm) The bathrooms are very well lit with spacious countertops and lots of drawers and shelves for cosmetics. The kitchen is open and well stocked with basic equipment and coffee and tea making supplies and a packet of microwave popcorn. Bedrooms each have a tv as does the "living room". It's a really comfortable place in a great location. A breakfast buffet with a lot of variety is included. read more

We basically lived here for 2 months on weekdays when we moved cross country to Waco and were in the process of buying a new house. My family and I were really impressed. The hotel was clean, comfy and they often bumped us up to a 2-bedroom apartment because we were regulars. The nice thing about the 2-bedrooms is they have an oven. The 1-bedrooms and studios have stoves, though. There is free dinner 3 nights a week, which is nice. The free breakfast is a cut above normal free hotel breakfasts. They always have hot food and the standard stuff as well. The staff were super nice, and they got to know us and our kid pretty well! The pool was nice. I'd recommend this place to anyone staying in town for any length of time. read more

Worst night I've ever spent in a Marriott property. I'm a Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite with Marriott and stay in Marriott properties well over 100 nights per year. The room smelled like smoke, there were no feather pillows, the climate control did not work properly. Took 2 requests to get feather pillows. I was put in a west facing room which is one block from an active train track. Hope you don't want to sleep in. Be prepared to be awakened by the train horn at 7 each morning. There was also a pronounced hole in the left side of the bed. Smallest, slowest elevator I think I've ever seen in a hotel. Really hard to believe this is a Marriott property. read more

I've stayed many nights at the Residence Inn in Waco and the stays have been fine. However I won't stay here ever again for several reasons. First, I went to the front desk and found their employee sound asleep!!! I had to wake her up! I needed an extra blanket and was told the hotel is out of blankets and this routinely happens. Tell me how a hotel runs out of blankets! The maid service is substandard too. We found their cleaning supplies in our room and they failed to cleanup the bathroom. And all this fun cost me nearly $300 a night. There are better hotels in Waco than this place that are newer and more affordable. Stay elsewhere. read more

Wonderful experience! We have stayed at a few places in Waco but this is by far the best experience for the money! I love the fact that the rooms have fully equipped kitchens and the layout is modern and comfortable! The staff was very friendly and the grounds and facilities were very clean and well kept! The breakfast was excellent and the food hot and plentiful! My 9 year old loved the indoor pool and this definitely will be our go to place when we visit his sister who is a student at Baylor. The location is so close to the campus and there is an HEB plus only 2 miles away! Highly recommended! read more

The Waco Residence Inn is one of the best hotels I have stayed in anywhere in the country. The rooms are a nice size for anything from an overnight to multi- week stays, the staff is super attentive and friendly, and the overall experience is excellent. I once arrived with no advance reservation after having not been there for several months and was greeted by name as I came in the door. Yes, it is not a resort or a high-end luxury getaway, but as a place to park a suitcase and call home for a few days I have yet to find it's equal. read more
