The check in process is terrible. They absolutely wouldn't check you in until 3:00 so there was a lobby full of people waiting. I totally understand if the room is not yet ready, but a blanket policy to not even check is ridiculous. We arrived at 2:30 so not super early. So at 3:00, the 2 employees are overwhelmed trying to check everyone in at once and the customers are irritated before they even get their room key. We are a member at La Quinta so I know his is not a corporate policy just something the Bend located instituted. I spent one night here after staying in a La Quinta in Grants Pass for a month. The difference could not be more glaring. While the facility was sort of clean, the grounds were overgrown with weeds, and a portion of the parking lot was a gravel lot full of potholes. My room, in the basement, had curtains hanging halfway off of the hooks, as did many others, as could be seen from outside. The floor was creaky, both in my room, and in the room above me. The AC made grinding noises all night long, and the tub, sink, and toilet all drained slowly, or not at all. I didn't even risk the complementary breakfast. I would not stay here again. read more

We just spent 4 nights at the La Quinta in Bend! First the 3 pm check in is strictly enforced ! We were told no rooms were ready when we got there after 2! No maids seen cleaning rooms! The pool has been closed for at least 6 months and on website in small letters it mentions the closure but still has pictures on website of pool! The biggest issue was the back door which you usually have to use room key to get in is unlocked and anyone can get in! Big safety issue! We talked to 3 employees about this who were not aware of this problem! It also needs updating and at least new paint and clean rugs! read more

Don't stay here unless you have pets and nowhere else to stay. I have children and we don't currently own any pets. So this isn't the reason for my bad review. I have stayed in this hotel in the past and it was all right. The price for seven nights was really good at around $650. I booked our stay months ahead of time. At the time of booking I confirmed it wouldn't be difficult to cancel should I need to. The nice lady assured me It would be no problem to cancel a day before my trip. She sounded very flexible and forgiving. Which is why I I actually canceled my other reservation through a third-party and directly booked through them. However, a day before my trip I called to cancel and was told a different story. I spoke to a man named Ben. He refused to give me his last name. He told me he was the supervisor but the computer wouldn't let him cancel my reservation without a fee because it was after 4 PM. Mind you it was 4:37 when I called. After some back and forth He told me that the lady who helped me make my initial reservation had been fired. He unprofessionally divulged it was because she was stealing. I told him that he should still honor her statements to me. Ben clearly wasn't willing to do that. We had a very heated argument and he told me he was going to ban me from Wyndham. I told him I was going to repot him. He then told me he was in fact able to cancel my reservation after all without being charged a nights stay. I asked for a confirmation email. After our phone call I checked my inbox only to find a confirmation of my stay. Needless to say I was livid! To add insult to injury the confirmation email actually said I had till 6 PM the day prior to cancel anyhow. So I called Ben the liar back. After all, I did call him to cancel at 4:30. He said "are you calling me back just to yell at me?" I said no, I'm calling to ask why I got a confirmation email opposed to a cancelation email. He said he made a mistake and would send the right email and hung up on me. I heard enough from "Ben anyway. He then proceeded to repeatedly call me back like a stalker. I called La Quinta, HQ after receiving his fraudulent emails. I didn't trust him at all at this point. Hq confirmed that my reservation wasn't canceled after all. I couldn't believe it!! Luckily because it was still before the actual 6 PM deadline I was finally able to cancel. Ben if that's even his name is a liar and doesn't know the first thing about customer service! It was awful and I will never stay there as long as I live! This altercation has me wondering though. What was this rigmarole for? I have a theory. He lives in Bend, which is poverty with a view. He works at a shitty hotel. He voted for someone who is not sitting in the White House right now. He's a snowflake. The list goes on. Ben, when I asked you if you voted for Kamala and you said "what do politics have to do with this?" They have everything to do with it! DO NOT BOOK HERE! - Last-Minute Cancellation & Unprofessional Management We had a confirmed reservation at La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Bend for July 26, 2025. My family (including my wife and our two young children, ages 7 and 2) arrived at around 10PM after a long day of travel, only to be told our booking was canceled without any valid explanation. That weekend, the entire town was booked out, making it extremely difficult to find another hotel. My younger daughter was crying because it was so late, but the hotel offered no alternative accommodation or assistance. When I asked to speak with the manager, the front desk told me the manager was "out of town." However, after I called the police for help, the manager suddenly appeared -- clearly avoiding the issue earlier. The manager then demanded that I leave the premises, despite my peaceful conduct and legitimate reservation. This unprofessional and heartless handling caused significant stress, financial loss (extra transportation and rebooking expenses), and completely ruined our night. Travelers, especially families, should think twice before booking here, particularly on weekends or during the hot season. read more

I made a reservation through booking.com for 10/10. When I arrived I was told they have a new booking software and they don't have my reservation. I was told there are no rooms. I was told I would not be charged. She even left a note with my name on it for the manager who was working at 6am on 10/11. I left and stayed at the campfire motel which was cheaper and very nice. When I went down to ask about why someone hung up on me or why the water is cold. I was told the manger was coming to fix in 19 mins and if I'd like to talk to him call back. Too bad I can't leave 0 stars. My parents were on vacation and stayed at this janky hotel. They checked in and noticed a big clump of hair in the shower. So this 374 dollar room was dirty, my mom called the office immediately to let them know. The manager sent two young boys to supposedly clean the room, they brought gloves and a plastic bag with them. They removed the hair but didn't clean anything, just took the hair and left. My mom wanted a different room or their money back and were told to get out or they would call the cops on my parents. My dad said go ahead, please call them. My mom called corporate and they said Wyndham isn't responsible for this location but their name is on everything! read more

I had a very terrible experience staying at this motel and I am writing this review in hopes that others don't have to go through what I went through. I was working in Bend, Oregon on business. I have stayed at la Quinta inns many times before and have had no issues. I believe they have very poorly trained new management and poorly trained employees at this location. Upon check in I told the gentleman at the counter that I had dogs with me. He acknowledged this and forgot to have me sign a waiver. During my work trip I had to extend my stay for an additional night. I went to the front counter and that same gentlemen extended my stay for me. On my last day in Bend at approximately 10 am I had received a message, not a phone call, a message from the motel. It was the manager on duty informing me that they had entered my room and had physically take my dogs out of the room. This was before check out time. She told me they would have to have them taken to the pound. They also went through all of my belonging and packed everything up. She told me that I was not supposed to be there, even through I booked and paid for an additional night. I had to leave my job mid shift in order to deal with this issues they created. When I got to the motel the manager behind the counter told me I broke countless "policy's". She tried charging me with a smoking fee for $250, even though I was not smoking in the room. She proceeded to charge me with a $150 fee for leaving my dogs unattended in the room which was NEVER explained to me during check in. Also my dogs didn't damage anything. I didn't sign any forms and was not educated by the staff about these policy's and fees at check in. I have never felt more violated. The staff took my dogs out of my room while I technically had the room reserved. They went through my belongings. They entered the room I was staying in even though it was before check out. The manager on duty didn't take any responsibility at all for wrong doing on their part. The gentleman who extended my stay apparently did it incorrectly and caused all of these issues for me. If I had known that I would be charged $150 for leaving my dogs in the room for a few hours while I worked I would have brought them with me. I have been waiting for almost a month to be contacted by the general manager and that has not happened. I tried to file a complaint but the manager on duty told me she couldn't share any contact info or names due to privacy concerns. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else when visiting bend. read more

This is a rating of my experience with this motel. I did not end up staying here. Summertime in the Pacific Northwest is especially difficult because I do not own an air conditioner for the three days a year it would truly be useful. Because I am brilliant I booked a room at this motel, which does have an air conditioner. I tried to book a room through the website and called the number I thought was most direct. In general, I do not seek out the lowest prices for a motel, I am more concerned with ensuring I have a room. The number rang to someone with a thick accent, which I have no problem with. I talk to lots of people with accents, it usually does not pose any problem. I gave the name of the motel, the address, the city, state and zip code. I thought it was funny because my own zip code is very similar. The person taking the reservation mis-spoke several times while making the reservation, repeating at different times during the conversation the incorrect number of beds, the incorrect zip code, the incorrect dates of check-in and checkout. I corrected each and every error as we spoke. Finally, after stumbling through all that he read me back all the information, and with all the corrections, mispronunciations, and very thick accent, it sounded like he had my reservations placed correctly. I showed up here at 6pm only to find out my reservation was actually in Bend, Indiana. I could have checked my reservation more thoroughly , I could have asked to speak to someone else, I could have bought an air conditioner, I could have slept in my car in the parking lot. But instead I am fighting the charges for a room I did not stay in and doing what I can to keep the same thing from happening to someone else. I will not attempt to use this establishment again and will prevent anyone I can from using this establishment or its services. read more

Nice continental breakfast with a 24 hr pool and hot tub- In June 2021- this is a steal and and a royal treat! This is an older, 60 room hotel that has been renovated to some degree. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. The service from the staff at the front desk, however was Superior. Jane, the weekend manager, is one of the best Customer Service people I've had the pleasure to encounter. Very comfortable place to stay! The pool area was clean, and the hot tub was the perfect temperature. Easily accessible from the freeway, this is a great location to stay when skiing Mt. Bachelor, or for visiting downtown Bend. The continental breakfast here is one of the better ones. The only downsides to my visit is that they had me in a basement room, and the shower drain of the room above me must have run right through the wall behind my bed; the gurgling sound went on for at least 25 minutes at one point during the night. Additionally, the room was below groundlevel, making the angle of the window perfect for the parking area lights to flood the bedroom with light. The privacy drapes weren't enough to keep the light out, and the drapes that should have been light blockers were hung in place on the edges of the window, for decoration only, and could not be closed to keep the light out. This hotel was so perfect and for a great price. It was quiet throughout our stay it felt like we were the only guest in the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and convenient. The only thing would be to ask for an extra blanket if you like to be extra cozy at night. Check out is at 11 which is super nice but on our check out day the house keeping knocked on our door at 9:30am and tried to open the door when our "do not disturb" sign was out hanging.. luckily we had our door double locked. There is NO ELEVATOR in the Hotel. My 87 year old mother had to walk up 10 stairs with her walker to get to our room. There was another elderly woman that was doing the same, with all of her luggage. I had to make 4 trips with all of our luggage & cooler. I can't believe that this hotel is allowed to be open without ADA for the whole hotel. The pool is also not accessible to walk to without walking around the whole building to get to the pool & then walk all the way around the building to get back into the front entrance. And then more stairs to get to our room. The spa edges were very dirty & the pool looked dingy as well. There was no soap in the bathroom shower. The carpeting is dingy. The beds were comfortable, but only 3 very flat pillows on each bed. We will not be staying at a LaQuinta again !!!! read more

Do not stay here. This place, which I posted pictures for is terrible if you think you're getting a Wyndham Property. It's not even La Quinta quality. I liken it to a Motel 6. IT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND THEY ARE NOT TELLING THE GUESTS! Where can I start? Let start with the lack of Pandemic preparedness. My first room still had fingerprints on the desk from the prior guest. I had them change me to a new room and it was no better. Open my window and my view is a junkyard of a front or back yard of a house. Move on to the bed and three pillows arranged in a very strange pattern and the bed not Wyndham quality. The bathroom is absolutely bottom of the line motel quality. Terrible tv quality. Grease stain on the chair. Paper Thin motel walls with that terrible texture that makes them look even cheaper. I asked the front desk, "What's the smell and why does this place look delapitated" and the reply was we are under construction and never closed one day due to the pandemic. The lobby and the hallways smell so terrible, you can't help but ask yourself, how can they get away with this. It appears that they never went through any covid -19 training for cleaning and it shows. I've been staying in Hotels this whole West Coast trip. This place is the worst. I posted some pictures. Pictures of the bed with three pillows, one pillow looked liked someone laid in it. Fiberglass shower with a chip in it and a shower curtain from the Dollar General Store, still hanging to dry. Then the picture of the car junk yard as my view. I paid $170 + for this room. Never again. That bottle of rubbing alcohol is mine. I carried it all week with me. Never felt a need to use it. Over the years, I've seen lots of Yelpers ask locals for recommendations on where to stay in their city. The answer usually (not always) goes something like "I have no idea - I don't stay in hotels here." It makes sense. Bend is a tourist town and has a ton of motels. I have no idea about almost all of them. But having visited Bend several times prior to moving here, I can say something about two of them, one of which is the La Quinta on the south side. La Quinta is a huge chain that I've used many, many times as I've criss-crossed the US. Like most chains, their motels tend to be similar, with the differences mainly due to management. One thing that sets La Quinta apart from a lot of their competitors is their liberal pet policy, which makes it a favorite among those traveling with their fur babies. This particular La Quinta is typical of the chain - clean, good beds, well appointed. If your preferences align with what the La Quinta brand offers, you probably won't be disappointed with your stay here. The staffers are Bendites, of course, and they exemplify what is great about this town: super friendly. - They don't have an elevator, so if you're lugging heavy baggage, ask for a ground floor room. - Their parking lot is not huge and doesn't have large turn-around areas. So if you're towing a UHaul trailer, I'm not sure it can accommodate you if the motel is crowded. There's a Walmart across the street and they typically allow trailers and RV's to use their lot. Hands down one of the worst hotels we have stayed in! Dirty, loud, uncomfortable lumpy pillows! Three floors and you hear every step or Noise the people make above you! It sounded like they were bowling! They had loud sex and my 4 year old grandson asked what was happening! It's a 10 minute drive from downtown so you are not able to walk. Just an awful end to a long day of hiking. We planned on getting out on the trails again tomorrow but I am sure we will all be exhausted.
