Really nice hotel. Stayed here for one night and enjoyed the experience. Staff were friendly at check-in. City has a $10 parking fee. Rooms are clean and modern. During the week they had beer at happy hour on the house, and there's a great complimentary buffet for breakfast with someone who prepares food on order. Proximity to downtown is hard to beat. This was a four star review, however two things happened on the way out and one that was kind of problematic. We booked four nights. No one comes to clean or make your bed the entire time, which when I am at home I make my bed everyday--here there is no option. This meant we ran out of towels too, thankfully someone asked us if we wanted clean towels a couple of days in. The two issues upon leaving, well we had a dental emergency that could not be handled in Bend, so we had to drive home--we were two hours into the stay for that night [1pm] and the lady said there's no refunding for that evening--her whole attitude was not cool. We did not plan to have to leave--but when you have no available dentists you have no choice. Her attitude and that she also locked us out of our room while we were taking stuff down to the car. First you tell me no refunds and then have the audacity to block our key? Never staying there again. read more

Pleasant surprise with our stay here. The beds were comfy, the pillows decent, the bathroom layout spacious and we had a sweet view onto Pioneer Park. The fairly tasty prepared hot breakfast was a bonus; it was served in a large well- lit room (part of the lobby), with good coffee on tap, roomy seating and lots of food options --- yogurt, muffins, tea and other add ons for the taking. Props to the pool area as well -- spacious, clean, lots of towels and a pretty solid hot tub. The gym is full size too, stocks a good selection of machines, treadmills and weights, so that's another plus. Gotta say, though the hotel offers free bikes to take out, they are absolute crap; the brakes are atrocious, gears are sketchy and one had a flat. It's a nice perk, but proceed with caution. But overall, the Element is clean and up to date, with lots of parking on-site (though it costs extra), and a pretty good location within a somewhat reasonable walking distance to downtown. I stayed here with my family on 7/2 during my travel to Idaho and on 7/6 on the way back home. Two very different experiences. So the good...for both travels, Room and kitchen are decent and bed is comfy. There is happy hour with complimentary selected local beer, wines, and cheese. There is also complimentary hot breakfast. Not the greatest breakfast but edible. Plenty of parking but will cost $10 per night. Cleaning staff are very nice. Now the bad, on the 7/2 travel, we noticed a couple that checked in ahead of us came back down to complained that their room wasn't clean. We should've taken that as a sign. Our room wasn't super clean but we made do because we were tired after a very long drive.However, the next day when we checked out, we were met with the most racist front clerk named Lily. I asked for a print out of my stay. I was told no and that it would be emailed. She then proceed to ask me, in a rude tone, for the room keys. I told her my husband is still upstairs. So I proceed to take my kids to the car. To my shock, my white husband came to the car with a print out in his hand. He said he asked the front desk, not realizing I already asked, and they gave it to him. I never felt so discriminated! I'm Asian and my husband is white so for Lily to profiled me is very wrong! So when I had my 2nd travel on 7/6, very different experiences. The room was very clean and when I went to check out the next day, a different front clerk was there, and I asked for a print out of my stay. I was given it, no questions asked. So that's how I knew I was racially profiled by Lily. I complained to Marriott corporate and received a generic response from the manager that it was a misunderstanding because they don't print out when you use a third party booking...which is odd, because the hotel charges $10 for parking so a receipt is valid to give so customer can check for inappropriate charges. Also they said Lily will be taking some bias classes and that they'll be reaching out to Marriott to provide some compensation. Well we never received any compensation and we never received any final receipt emails like Lily said was there. So the lesson here: make sure your room is clean, get a print out of your receipt upon check out, and if you get Lily in the front desk, check that she's not racist anymore. read more

Awesome hotel in Bend, OR. One of the top hotels rated on Yelp, I booked it and was NOT disappointed! Staff was very nice; there was infused water- strawberry cucumber (SO GOOD); wine and horsd'oeuvlres in the evening; breakfast was bomb; rooms were very spacious. We had a great time!! Very clean too. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening and the fire pit after! Lots of parking and pretty close to downtown! Price wasn't too bad, but you pay what you get and this was great value. read more

Ok so wow !!! Never had so many amenities at a hotel and we are a travel family ! That have really surprised me ! We got there and there was free wine, cheese, and drinks. Also beer on top from 10 barrel included with us just checking in complementary on top of that you got to play games you could choose any games and why you could take them to your room that was really cool. They had a fresh garden that you were able to use for your breakfast because also breakfast is included . I thought with the amount of me this hotel had way worth the price extremely great service honestly no negative things about this hotel to say. read more

In dating breakup it goes like this, "It's not you, it's me." So it was for us and Element, a Marriott / Bonvoy line, because while this property was well run, clean and orderly, conveniently located for Parkway and Downtown access with friendly and well trained staff, we won't be back here or choose another Element elsewhere. We are not the demographic as rooms and amenities seem more appointed for younger travelers and maybe families with a sort of theme of community gathering on property and minimized appointments that allow a lower price per room. But our calling it quits has to do with pets policy, which is every room is dog and cat friendly and we prefer those that limit pets to specific rooms. Sounds curmudgeon'ish? Fer shure. But we had dogs as much loved members of the family for 25 years and we just were not those travelers even then. We see photos of pets on beds and on furniture and yes, the housekeeping staff does a good job of cleaning these rooms, but still Then there is that it was a rainy day on our stay and the wet dogs being walked down the halls to rooms were going to need to be dried off somehow...wanna bet it is with the bathroom towels? Okay, I can hear readers of these comments groaning. :-) You do you. But that is us. We were in a double queen room on the 4th floor (4 floor property), we'd choose a king left to our own devices but none available that time when we had to make late notice reservations, and the space in the beds area seemed tight in part because a good amount of space is allotted to in room kitchen, something we don't use in hotel stays. The bathroom had shower only, much our preference, and everything in it worked well and lighting was good. When we need a hotel room in Bend, where we once lived for almost 20 years and still visit often, since we are Bonvoy members we typically choose a different Marriott property in town that is just a bit more luxe in appointments, smaller in overall room count and limits pets to certain rooms. We have stayed there probably more than 30 days in total. But on this stay the cost for that property was over $350 / night and we decided we'd give the lower priced Element a try. (Just north of $200 / night with tax and fees for our stay as I recall.) A good try out of the Element brand and while it doesn't fit us, I can see this well managed property being a good fit for others. ROOM LOCATION TIP: The property is bordered on one side by the Bend parkway and on the opposing side a street that runs past Pioneer Park and into downtown. For the quietest rooms, choose that latter side OR the rooms facing the front parking lot but on the left as you face the building which will be closer to that park side. ACCESSIBILITY: Marriott properties typically do a good job of ADA compliance and this one seems to as well. Accessible parking in the front. Accessible rooms listed throughout the building, that is on all floors, and in all classes of service. I think the pool had the required lift for disabled guests to be able to get in and out of the water. read more

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time at Element Bend. The indoor pool was an excellent perk for our toddler and our room was well equipped. The bed felt very clean and comfortable. We had an issue with the TV and it was fixed quickly for us. Breakfast was enjoyable with a daily warm breakfast option and a yogurt parfait bar. Thursday night there was free bread, cheese, nuts, and beer or wine in the lobby, plus board games out for guest to enjoy. We'll stay here again on a future visit to Bend. read more

I really have no idea why Bend hotel prices were so expensive during the summer, but we had to come here because our friend was having a wedding at nearby Brasada Ranch. Since I'm tied to Marriott, I had to take a look at the the usual suspects of Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, and SpringHill Suites...nah, did not seem very appealing to me. But this Element hotel that was super new and had great reviews? That appealed to me. Thankfully I had a free night to cash in, and I definitely made the right choice. Booked a standard king room, but thanks to my Titanium Elite status (and my repeated calls to the hotel before we came) we got bumped up to a nice one bedroom suite. The Element hotels brand promotes long stays with a very modern and vibrant feel, and I definitely felt that with this room. Everything was super comfortable and very much my style. The full kitchen setup was really nice, wish we had a chance to use it. Hell, even the room key reader was super modern. Staff here are absolutely fantastic. Very friendly people for sure. Our room wasn't ready, but we were able to be moved to another room as we were in a bit of rush. Plus I had to figure out exactly what gas stations were open since apparently in Oregon they actually close, and the girl running the night shift helped me out on that. There is a gym and pool that are indoors, didn't get a chance to use either but they do exist. Location was more useful for us than had we stayed at the other Marriott properties, as it was very close to downtown Bend as well as the last Blockbuster. I'm just very sad that we barely spent any time in this room as we had to head out to the airport at 7 am the next day. But I'm definitely a fan of the Element Hotels brand now, and will definitely look to try and stay at other ones in the future. read more

So be prepared to be greeted hello fine. But if you have a request to check in, or set up folio or get an estimate outside of 3 pm. You will be blown off and told comeback after 3, even when it's 1:30/2:00, lobby is empty and you decide to wait in lobby. Staff hasn't developed how to communicate grey space as other more professional hotels. ie We have rooms finishing up soon, wait by we will get you in, I can give you mean estimate or a phone call update In 15-20 minutes. When You ask to understand better from manager who is on site, staff stonewalls you to say it will be an hour for him to come down from a room check to speak with you. I suggest if you are staying here and plan to arrive before 3:00pm, call ahead and get early checkin set. Actually everyone should call and set their checkin time so that there is no misunderstanding with arrival time to hotel. Sadly, was the first question Paige asked before discussing rooms any further with us in an another lobby. So per her, hotel must operate off of calls heads for check in. They are learning to deliver Marriot experience to guests. Maybe it can get better. Update: Changed rating form 3 to a 4 Manager came down. Professional and apologized for how the interaction went with staff. He understood, with empty lobby, staff can try better to be helpful, even if the answer is no, customers don't mind. Great location right off the Bend Parkway, walk to Blockbuster, shops & brewery. Modern, new, clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. I was so happy to see a laundry room & immediately put 2 loads in, upon check in. We were in Room 222 which was a 600 sq one bedroom unit with a kitchen, living room, nice size bathroom, 2 large screen t-v's, 2 closets.... We had dishes, silverware, cork screw, coffee maker, dishwasher, full size fridge, stove, toaster, microwave... Breakfast was included & I enjoyed it. The cappuccino machine worked well and there was a nice selection of yogurt, muffins, fruit & cereals. I enjoyed my made to order French toast with berries and Nutella, it was awesome. Staff was wearing masks & they were social distancing. There were signs & floor markings. However many others & most children didn't follow the pandemic policy. Disappointing!!! Our room was directly across from the elevator and it was not quiet. Children & dogs were up & running before 6:30, hotel was quiet by 9 AM. We also heard the roar of traffic on the highway throughout the night. But, we would definitely stay here again preferably not during a pandemic and since we don't have children not during a school holiday. read more

I sincerely love Marriott's modern design for their Element hotel brand. Each room is a suite with a built in sitting area and full kitchen. For someone like me that travels way too much it's one of my favorites. The staff here are kind and friendly. The gym is great and a nice size. Indoor pool and even a partnership with Lettuce Grow. When weather is warmer then even have bikes to borrow. 10 min walking to downtown Bend and a beautiful park and river across the street. Thumbs up for sure. If you are looking for a place that caters to the skier then this is the place for you. The rooms have a wonderful layout that gives a variety of places to sit or lounge and the kitchen is tiny but mighty! There is a fridge with separate freezer that gives plenty of space for groceries and leftovers. These rooms feel more like an apartment than a hotel room and I want all of my rooms to be like this one! The breakfasts are amazing, a unique selection of bakery treats, scones, croissants, muffins and bagels. All conveniently wrapped in pastry bags for on the go skiers, yogurt bar and daily hot breakfast selections are fantastic. I hope more hotels take to this model it really makes the morning exciting. The kitchen staff are so friendly and you can tell they enjoy what they do. The communal spaces are functional and warm which provides a good atmosphere for the weeknight wine and charcuterie happy hour and facilitates meeting other guests. I enjoy that the space feels welcoming and navigates professionalism without feeling sterile. I will definitely be coming back to enjoy these amenities and recommending it to anyone heading this direction. read more

Our stay at the Element was very pleasant. The room was very clean, had a small stove, large refrigerator, dishes and utensils, comfortable bed, and beautiful bathroom/shower. Even though it is close to the highway, it was very quiet. There was a complimentary breakfast, and the sweet potato hash was the best breakfast I've had on our whole trip. They also have a cool automatic espresso maker that make delicious mochas. We visited the pool and hot tub in the evening. Both were clean and just the right temperature. My only suggestion would be to make an Adult-Only time from 8-10:00, or keep the pool open a little later. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable. Good location - easy to get on the 97. about 15 min walk to downtown restaurants and shops. They have stuff to keep you occupied - indoor pool and hot tub, Bocce ball, a gym, and they let us make smores by the fire pit. You can save money - breakfast is included. standard is cereal, scones and muffins but each day there's a different cooked breakfast - I thought the French Toast was very good. Plus our room came with a kitchenette (microwave, dishwasher, fridge, stove, pans, utensils) - another way to save on your trip. There's laundry on site - so you can pack light and save on baggage fees maybe. $3.25 total for each load. Facilities were clean. Staff overall- not sharpest tack in the box, but all very nice and courteous. No issues with excessive noise. read more

This is a beautiful hotel that's refreshingly different than a standard hotel. They have bikes to borrow, a well-planned courtyard with bbqs and fire pits and an evening reception with local beer and wines. You can even make your own macchiato in the lobby instead of running out to grab coffee. Above all, the entire staff is wonderful. The manager , Kenneth is a very present, friendly and happy to help. This hotel is owned under the Marriott brand, and then a Marriott card holder, and we were able to use points to stay here for our quick little central Oregon getaway. And this place is absolutely amazing. They had a great breakfast it was included they had coffee and beverages down all the time for grabs. They had a barbecue you could use. A lovely enclosed outdoor space and a pool that can be used year-round. The rooms were nice. Everything was completely new and modern. The staff was absolutely amazing and very helpful. Very amazing time. They had a couple of rental bikes you could use to tour the downtown area which was only about a 10 minute walk or a few minute bike ride. I could gush and go on for hours about how amazing this place was what a value in a hidden gem. I will honestly say I won't be staying anywhere else when I'm in the area. This is a messy must do. The room had a great little kitchen and everything was stocked. There was not a thing missing that we needed on a trip when we got there. First of all, I never do reviews, but this place is soo good I had to. Today we checked into the Element in Bend and were immediately welcomed by Eric (GM) and his amazing staff! They are were friendly and accommodating from the start. The room is absolutely incredible. Checkout the commons suite if you get a chance. It's huge, open and bright. It includes a full residential kitchen, 3 TVs, a huge couch that seats eight, dining for 12+ and super modern styling. There is a pool w/ spa, gym like fitness facility and happy hour + free breakfast. Not to mention you are less than 10 min walk to DT Bend and on the River front...not much else to say other than exquisite! read more

An absolutely wonderful stay at Element Bend! My husband and I arrived in the afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to see that they offer a daily happy hour in their lobby with complimentary wine/beer and snacks (marinated olives, cheese, crackers, fruit, trail mix, etc) for their guests! After a quick stop there, we arrived in our room which was very spacious and just so incredibly clean! The room looked brand new and was spotless. Your stay also includes complimentary breakfast which was mostly continental except for 1 hot station (during our stay, they had pan friend root vegetables, potatoes, and egg) - which was great for a free hotel breakfast! And to top it all off, all the staff were so nice and welcoming. Will be staying here again! read more

I stayed in an enormous, underpriced suite with an ideal kitchen. They honored my ESA letter and my request to stay on a top floor. It was immaculate, modern, and whisper quiet despite the freeway being at eye level steps away. (I attribute this to soundproofing and their top-notch blackout system.) Perfect bed. My car charged outside for free. I was there working remotely for all three nights (great internet) and thus was home a lot, and yet it never claustrophobic. I didn't use the gym, etc., but I did appreciate the generous breakfast. Very nice staff too. Would love to stay again and explore the area. read more

The good: The service is polite and always greeted us. The facilities seem new and there's a focus on being environmentally friendly, with electric vehicle chargers etc which is a forward thinking move. The ok: Across the street from a little park, which is nice, but if you stay anywhere downtown, you'll be stes from Drake park which is nicer. The pool and hot tub are ok, but look like they haven't been cleaned in a while. The breakfast is carb heavy- muffins, cereal, toast, or you could choose from a basket of overripe bananas. The weird: Despite saying otherwise online, the windows don't open at all in any direction, so the room has a strong cleaning product smell and the recirculating air feels like you're in an airplane. The bad: Noise and the bed. Road noise. Housekeeping noise. Other guest noise. Construction noise. We brought a little white noise machine because some of this is to be expected in a hotel, but it couldn't compete. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable so I ended up sleeping half the time on the couch, trying to nap until again awoken by construction noise. In short: We chose the Element from 3 options in Bend and we chose wrong. Sufficiently dissatisfied that we visited the other two options to see about possibly moving or checking them out for a future stay. Yep, chose wrong. read more

Great hotel in a great location. We booked a night at the last minute since we wanted to check out Bend on our drive to California. Everyone on the staff was super friendly and helpful (and made great dinner recommendations). Breakfast was an unexpected treat (sweet potato hash with chicken sausage and fried egg-prepared on the spot). The room was huge and was perfect for the two of us and our dogs. Super clean and well stocked. Lots of parking as well in a brightly lit lot. A short 7 minute walk to charming downtown Bend. You can't go wrong with this hotel. read more

This was my third stay in at an Element property. I'm happy with what Marriott is trying to do. The orientation towards active people and healthy living is apparent. There are no strange looks when I walk through the lobby with climbing gear or a bicycle. The breakfasts are not the usual powdered eggs but a bit more fresh and balanced. The rooms are simple but very functional and comfortable. This property is very new. There were a few punch list items in the room that surprised the front desk. I guess no one checked the contractor's work. Anyway, I'd stay in an Element again over other, more traditional alternatives. read more

My first couple of stays at this hotel were decent. Room was comfortable and clean. My last stay was horrendous. Hair left in the shower and under vanity, scuffs & dirt on walls, dirty dishes put back on shelf and the refrigerator did not function. I reported this to Hailey multiple times and not only was she completely dismissive, but refused to move me even though I was there for a week and a half. Hailey was extremely rude and not helpful at all. I would not recommend this hotel any longer. read more

This is my go to for every quarterly business trip to Bend. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the hot breakfast is made to order, and it's convenient to everything in Bend and across from Pioneer Park. They have happy hour with wine and cheese and a wind down tea service in the evenings with a nice patio and fire pit to relax. Staff is superb. Special shout out to Shelly at reception who always goes the extra mile to reserve my favorite room and to Sam and Loni at breakfast who make the effort to ensure my breakfast is safely gluten and dairy free.
