This is such a great park and easily one of our family's most visited spots in the area. We spend a lot of time here throughout the week, and it has become a big part of our routine. Our daughter practices and plays soccer games here, and our son goes to school across the street, so he and his friends often come over after school to hang out, relax, and spend some time outside. It's the kind of park that really brings the community together. The park itself is spacious, clean, and very well maintained. There's a large playground that younger kids absolutely love, and it's big enough that it doesn't feel crowded even when a lot of families are there. The splash pad is another huge hit, especially during the warmer months. It's a great way for kids to cool off and have fun while parents relax nearby. There are also plenty of open grassy areas, which makes it perfect for sports practices, pickup games, or just letting kids run around and burn off some energy. The park has several shaded areas and spots with grills, which makes it a great place for family gatherings, birthday parties, or just a casual afternoon with friends. We've seen many families set up and spend hours here enjoying the space. What we also love is how active the park feels. There are always people walking, playing sports, or just enjoying the outdoors, which gives it a really welcoming community vibe. It's clearly a place that a lot of locals appreciate and use regularly. The only downside we've experienced is the parking situation. Because the park is across the street from the high school, the parking lot often gets filled up during school events or games, and it can sometimes be tough to find a spot. A little more dedicated parking for the park itself would definitely help. Aside from that, this park is a fantastic community space and one our family truly enjoys. It's a great place for kids, sports, and spending time outdoors, and we're really grateful to have such a nice park nearby. read more

This park is great for everything! They have plenty of space for people to pick or cordon off their own sections. They have a few water fountains throughout the park. They also have an overhead area with tables for parties to take place and most importantly a grill area! They have a big playground for children and also a water area to help the kids keep cool and play. This park also holds a full self operating skate park! It's located adjacent to the basketball courts! They have cages setup for baseball or softball. Plus with all the space you can set up a pickup game of soccer or football. Every time I go with friends, there is never any shortage of parking! Plus they have public restrooms. Also they have an ice cream truck aka palatero man that drops by every so often selling ice cream! I recommend the park for anyone and is clean! Only thing lacking is a volleyball area though. read more

It's usually packed cause they have soccer practice, skate park, walking area, little playground and a little water play area. They also have basketball courts, overall park is nice. Has restrooms but usually no soap so bring some or sanitizer. Some days not as packed as others just depends close to homes and right across from Lq high. read more

This park is really starting to go down hill unfortunately and it's not by the quality of the park. The several times that we've been here theres been drug activity and drinking and characters that make it feel unsafe. This last time we saw two guys looking through the cars. By the time police come they've already been spotted and just run off. I'm not sure why people decide to handle their drug deals at a park where there is children and parents are bound to call the police. There's also been people hiding in the bushes when you walk around the track doing God knows what. The water feature is fantastic for those who don't have personal or community pools. They playground itself is well shaded and nice. It still gets pretty hot, but at least the kids can cool off in the water. Parking lot is well shaded for the cars. Would love this park so much more if the bad people would just stay away. read more

I often tag along with my husband on his work trips and use yelp to find a playground that local parents recommend. I was surprised to find very little information on parks during our vacation in indian wells/palm springs. We found this park via our concierge at the Hyatt Grand Champions and loved it. It's large, relatively clean and has multiple age-appropriate play structures and swings. There is plenty of parking and a large grass area for soccer or just to let your little one run free. The City of La Quinta hosted a very nice (free!) egg hunt here over easter weekend and did a great job organizing it by age group. read more

Great park all around. My kids love it here. They have a nice playground with a lot of things to keep kids entertained and of course the big hit is the water pod, which is one of the very few in the desert. They have a large shaded section with benches, tables and bbqs and the kids play area is also covered. There is a bathroom here although it could be maintained a little better. read more

Nice park! It's big, huge grass areas. It has a fitness court. Really cool effective and efficient exercise area.

Scooter Mom here! We're always searching for places for our kids to scoot when on vacation. This place has a decent bowl and a couple of ramps and rails to ride. Not a huge skate park, but the kids had a blast. read more

This park is close by where my daughter and her family lives. My 18 month old granddaughter loves parks and had a ball playing on some of the equipment. This park has a sign that indicates it is designed for children 2 to 12, so we closely supervised my granddaughter to ensure she didn't get hurt. Some equipment wasn't appropriate for her, but there was still plenty that was. There was a soccer game going on at the park and I loved that there was an old fashioned cart vendor selling snacks. Although I didn't buy anything, it gave the park a quaint feel. read more

This is one of my favorite parks in LA Quinta. Very spacious, and has everything a park should have. They have a pretty big play area for kids, a water area for those hot summer days, a basketball court, skatepark, and a huge spacious field, and two baseball diamond fields. Yesterday I went to this park with a couple of friends I haven't hung out with in a while, and we all wanted to play a friendly game of softball. Unfortunately, I guess it is soccer season and many kids and their families were there playing in an organized team. We waited for about an hour and a half for people to leave because we understood that we didn't want to play while there were people at risk of getting hurt. So we got excited knowing there was only one team left wrapping up their soccer practice and we'll finally be able to have our chance to play. Unfortunately this man, referring himself as the commissioner of the soccer league there, came up to us and asked if we do not hit the ball. So we ask ourselves we've been waiting for nearly two hours to play and he just tells us we cannot even hit the ball? How else are you supposed to play softball? Well we simply asked him, "well, what days and what time will we be able to play?" And the guy said they play every day and they're not finished till 9 pm and that is when the lights on the field turn off. Why even bother having a baseball diamond field when we cannot even play on it? What's sad too, is that the field over there is large and the people could have simply moved a bit away from the field but did not want to. My friends and I understand they wanted to do their little soccer thing, but they should have shown some compassion and let us play some soft ball. By the way, we were going to play softball on the right side field, where there was nearly no one there. Hopefully this review brings awareness and there can be a change on how organized the commissioner should go about with the soccer league. read more
