I was excited to see Ululani's had Lappert's ice cream.  I was interested in the lychee flavor but they did not have it in stock.  The owner graciously ordered me a 3 gallon tub.  About 3 weeks later my order arrived. Lychee ice cream had a sweet cream base and pieces of lychee throughout.  I loved the rich, sweet, creamy lychee flavor.  This is one of my favorite ice creams. We shared these 2 between 4 people. I liked the consistency of the soft ice. It wasn't "too sweet" like how asians like it but I think it's because they both really didn't taste like anything--just ice. The yuzu was very very subtle, and the strawberry bear relied on the jam for all the taste (which sucks for the inner parts without jam). For context, I'm used to Taiwanese shaved ice where you get to add more toppings to refresh the palette. The only toppings that were the ones you can see, save the ice cream inside the strawberry bear and cornflakes in the yuzu one. It was easy for both of them to start tasting dull. I'd rather go to Sul & Beans based on that! Service was quick. Parking is super small, and the one bathroom is connected to the neighboring restaurants.

I just got the plain vanilla, but had it dipped in the butterscotch shell because I was feeling nostalgic for the dipped cones I had as a child. The woman helping us was patient while we made up our minds. I needed napkins as it started dripping immediately, even through the thick coating. We sat at the tables outside and ate our cones. The butterscotch tasted ok but it was really thick and waxy so I didn't finish it. If I were in the area i might come back and get ice cream or soft serve again but skip the dip.
