When we got arrived this place was completely empty, on a Friday night. That should have been a sign! This place is mediocre at best. I can't give it more than 3 stars. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. My taco shell was soggy! I also had the chicken enchiladas- which were actually decent, but the beans tasted generic. My friend loved her Michelada but our Margaritas were very sweet and syrupy. The place seems under staffed, so that led to gross and unclean bathroom. read more

I came with my husband Wednesday night to tried this restaurant and we loved it. Everything was soo tasty and fresh. We ordered ceviche which is my favorite and I loved it. My husband ordered the Bria tacos he said that it was the best one,he has ever ! My beef fajitas was perfectly cooked and delicious. The lady who serve us tried to her best. On 6/23/23, I called three times to place an order for menudo. I called 3 times due to making sure they took my order correct and we didn't have any communication problems. my father was visiting from out of state and was craving menudo. I ordered two of the 32 oz menudo's and asked does each order come with corn tortillas or at least come with a couple of tortillas, whether it be corn or flour. Gloria ( talking real real fast ) stated if I wanted tortillas it would be $3 extra. I stated back No. I explained I wanted all the fixings and please not to make any errors be- my father was here visiting from out of state and we wanted to make sure that Gloria got our order correct. What type of Mexican restaurant doesn't include chips and salsa with each order of Menudo and also include a couple of tortillas. I spent a total of $36.55 and did not get the tortillas that are to be included with each order of menudo. Also, no chips and salsa was included as well. I was very very disappointed. Therefore, I called back and spoke to Patty. She stated that chips and salsa is included with orders such as burritos, tacos, etc. what the heck an order of menudo is considered a dish/order. This is not a good way to start off a business relationship with a real Mexicans family that lives 5 minutes away. We would periodically like to order from a Mexican restaurant at least once a week. Also, good luck placing an order they never answer the phone. We usually order from La Huerta, and have no problems and the food is authentic/delicious. But, on that particular day they weren't serving Menudo therefore I called around and came across La Reyna Mexican Restaurant, not far from us. We will not be ordering from this establishment AGAIN.!!! They were very rude and definitely not on point. Back to La Huerta where the food and service is 100% GREAT. read more

Grand Opening for this Restaurant where the old North China Restaurant by the dry cleaners on Prescott and Standiford across the street from the Savemart center. I am so Happy they are there...close by and the best Authentic Mexican food I've had in a long while here in Modesto!!! I came in to order, the woman at the counter was very nice, efficient. I'm honestly perplexed at what some people complain about with La Reyna. I've been here well over 30 times I'm embarrassed to say, but it's for good reason! This place is an amazing local restaurant with flavorful, delicious Mexican food. They own a bustling carniceria next door and were popular enough to open this place. They have a taco Tuesday where tacos are cheaper, spicy salsa, lots of options, friendly staff, and really good, consistent food. I will admit that there may be a language barrier when ordering over the phone, but I blame my lack of Spanish knowledge. I mean, do you want an authentic Mexican food spot to NOT have native Spanish speakers working there?! When I have guests who haven't been to Modesto before, I bring them here and they always leave happy. I've had Mexican food all over Modesto, yet I continuously come back to La Reyna. Try it. Trust. Stopped here on our way to Sacramento. Family owned! Plenty of parking and next door to a store/panaderia. Like most restaurants they give you chips and salsa but they also give you a side of beans which we enjoyed so much now I wish all places did this. Ordered the quesabirria combo and fajitas.
