You know what I noticed? I've been here twice and I've never reviewed them. That's changing now. I like this place. I like the ambiance a lot actually. The decor is pretty and I like the outside seating. The service is good. The last waitress was prompt and on one occasion, I accidentally dropped my drink, and I was able to get a new drink at no extra charge. That was really nice of them. Speaking of drinks, order the agua de pepino. It's super refreshing and sweet. They rim theirs with a little bit of chamoy and Tajín, giving it a spicy taste to it. The tortillas are homemade and I've enjoyed the food. It's good. read more

Food was really good, the plate for two was alright. The ambiance seating outside was really really nice. But the service was awful. The table next to us had a server who checked on them every few minutes. We got two different servers, one who took our drinks and the other who said she's taking over and then we didn't see her until we got the check. They charge more for card over cash. But based on the service alone, I wouldn't return. It wasn't that they couldn't do better, but that they didn't want to. read more

This is hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant. From the moment you walk in, the place is set up beautifully--clean, inviting, and with a great atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy your time. The drinks are excellent--well-made and a perfect complement to the food. I ordered the tacos, and they were absolutely A1. Full of flavor, fresh, and cooked perfectly. We also got the fajitas, and those were just as impressive--great seasoning, sizzling hot, and packed with flavor. Everything about this place just hits right. Great food, great drinks, and a really nice environment. Anytime someone asks me where to get delicious Mexican food, this is the spot I recommend. I got the grilled chicken breast plate, but asked that they cook the chicken without any oil andI just wanted a side of pinto beans and pico de gallo. The chicken was pounded out really thin, so it wasn't all that moist and was a little tough and to eat, but it was still flavorful and it didn't stop me from eating all of the chicken. Highly recommend with a different meat. Carnitas enchiladas with green sauce - 6 - carnitas was bland but the green sauce was pretty good. I think it could use more heat. Chile Relleno - 9 - was very good, especially the red sauce with chunks of tomato. Would like it to be more crispy where the sauce isn't on it. Pollo alla Crema - 7 - A bit too creamy and cheesy for my taste Would like more chipotle flavor Pollo Maguey - 10 - Perfectly season meat cooked to perfection. Home made tortillas was an excellent addition. Tapatia (chicken) - 8 - Beautiful dish with lots of toppings in a lower calorie construct. Seems exactly like a tostada to me. This is the best Mexican food in Modesto. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Pollo Tampiquena. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was so full of flavor and the vegetables were not overcooked. The beans and rice are delicious, not greasy like other restaurants in town. I had the Tamarindo Margarita and it was a beautiful drink. So YUMMY. I love how they have it decorated so colorfully in the restaurant. It beats all of the chain restaurants we have in town. My servers are always so nice and helpful. They look professional and happy.
