All fajita meats/fish was cooked perfectly! Hard to do on one hot plate! Chicken, steak, tilapia and shrimp!

The waitress was nice and efficient and we were seated immediately. The bathroom was clean as well. The food truly left something to be desired though. They serve you chips, salsa and cheese dip when you first sit down which impressed me at first. Until I realized the cheese dip was horrible. It tasted like and had the consistency of cheap canned cheese. My husband said it was like unflavored pudding. Mind you, this is not the same cheese you can order off the menu. The salsa was okay but a little too spicy for me. My husband ordered the Grande Burrito and was fine with it. I ordered a half order of the super nachos and they were not good at all. The cheese on them was not nacho cheese at all but greasy melted shredded cheese and they had a red sauce on them that was horrible. They didn't even look like a plate of nachos. It came with 8 chips with melted packaged cheese on them along with some red sauce and chicken. Then in the center was some sour cream, guacamole and some jalapeños. These are SUPER Nachos? Take Exit 15 off of I-35 and go East. It is on the right at the "T" intersection. It takes about one minute to get there. The building looks funky and shows it's age but... the Food was excellent. You get a small bowl of queso and another of hot sauce. I mixed them and it was perfect. The chips were fresh but greasy. They might turn up the fryer or leave them in a bit longer. My Chili Rellano dinner was very filling. I couldn't eat it all. Man, they really give you the cheese and the Ranchero Sauce was first rate. I am pretty sure the beans are made with lard because they were tasty. Nothing special about the rice. Service was good. read more

Great place to eat after a diving weekend at lake murray. Service is outstanding and the food is great.

The outside of this place doesn't convey the deliciousness on the inside. My husband and I were at Lake Murray over the weekend and one of the locals recommended this place. We didn't expect much since we have been disappointed by most small town Mexican restaurants. However, this place made a believer out of us. The cheese sauce is nothing to write home about, but the chips are warm, crispy and perfectly thin, just like I like them. The salsa was okay, but not at all hot like other reviewers have stated. Maybe they've toned it down? Let's get on to the main entrees. I ordered the chicken combo for $6. Hello? $6. That's incredibly cheap for the quality and amount of food they served. The combo included one chicken enchilada and one beef taco, served with rice and beans. The beans were delicious! There has to be real lard in them, because I haven't tasted refried beans like that in years. The rice was also good, not sticky, not too much tomato. The chicken enchilada was wrapped in what looked like a homemade tortilla, with spices running throughout, though that did not overpower the taste of the enchilada. The chicken could have had a bit more flavor, but the combination of just the right amount of cheese and sour cream sauce made it perfect. The taco shell was perfectly crispy and overstuffed with tasty ground beef, lettuce, tomato and onion. My husband had beef enchiladas. They were made with the same tortilla and ground beef, but layered with just the right amount of chili sauce and cheese. The service here is top-notch. All of the staff was friendly and our waitress kept our sweet tea filled without being intrusive. Overall our experience with La Roca was good. It's still a small town restaurant - Robert Irvine would love to get his hands on the décor - but for the price and quality of food it's a great choice if you're in the area. read more

Super Authentic small town Mexican Restaurant owned and run by locals who have been here awhile. We have been eating here for over 12 years and have never had a bad meal. I stumbled on this place when passing through Marietta and decided to stop when I noticed plenty of cars in the parking lot. I ordered guiso de puerco verde, and it was nicely spiced with a good portion of tender pork pieces. The tortillas were fresh and hot and the refried beans were good also. We just had lunch here and thought it was very good! I had the cheese quesadillas, which also has beans inside (I ordered light on the cheese) and they were perfect! Hubby had the chicken enchilada, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The food came piping hot, which was awesome! The chips came with salsa and queso, which were good but the salsa is pretty hot. Our waiter added ranch dressing to mine and it was delicious. They should offer this on their menu! Needless to say, the service was excellent. Since we were traveling, it was nice to have a sparkling clean restroom (with original artwork). In fact, all the decor is super cute and the restaurant was quite clean, overall. And the prices are very reasonable, especially for lunch. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. read more
