I found them rude and aggressive. Got a regular manicure, when she finished polishing she got up and walked away, no "wait for _ long..." or "go to the dryers." After waiting a while I did smudge my nail and asked if she could fix it. What then occurred is them yelling at me and claiming I should have been where the dryers were and more yelling at me wrongfully saying that I didnt want to be where the dryers were. Ive never been here before, so cant second guess what they expected or didnt expect, but certainly should not have yelled at me and been so rude. Never go here again. read more

Best pedicure I've had since I moved here from Orangevale. Shop is immaculate clean and the salon crew are amazing ladies. In Oct 2025 I came here for a pedicure and mini mani however it was on a Monday and they are closed Sunday and Monday so I went somewhere else and it was a big mistake bc the pedicure and mini mani were so inferior compared to the ladies at La Rose. Ladies treat yourself to this shop and relax once you are in the chair. Easy to relax and nap inside if you want. It's that type of atmosphere and vibe. Someone (I won't mention Alex's name) has been trying for years to cajole me into taking a mini-vacation just blocks from the house. He won me over the first time with a gift certificate. How could I refuse? So I stowed my excess testosterone and came here. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a group cheer. I felt like I was among friends. I noticed right away how clean the place smelled... fresh, not that chemical smell of some other salons. The big comfortable chairs are spotless and new. The staff used all the protective measures that make for a sterile treatment. Those are the kinds of things that I notice, and that made me more comfortable. The woman who did the mani/pedi was focussed, professional, and gentle. I was able to relax and enjoy the care and technique. When she was all down I saw that an hour had gone by and I felt renewed. FINALLY IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME! These women are simply customer service superstars****! It seemed nearly impossible to find someone good and people that take extra care to pay attention to the comfort of their customers. These ladies clearly have thought of everything from cheap flip flops, to special protective UV gloves while curing gel nails, all the new colors of OPI, lotion on the tips of your fingers do the glue won't stick, and they are friendly. Not superficially friendly but genuine people who welcome you into their place of business and client care is number one. My frustration with other salons has been their annoyed reactions if you're a few minutes late when you sit there waiting for them over 15 minutes and then they rush your job to catch up and huff when you have a request to trim an extra cuticle. Above all, they are so reasonably priced. I would gladly pay more for what they offer and price is never the only concern, it always how well you're treated and LaRose treated us very well!!! While we were in there, 4 different regulars of ten years or more came in and everyone's nails and toes looked amazing! Highly highly recommend. They are located on Miracle Mile just next to TJ's crossfit. I have been going to La Rose since I moved into the neighborhood 2 years ago. I felt the staff was friendly enough and the quality of the manicures was good. After my most recent experience, I will never go back. I recently went in for my regular mani/pedi and was picking out a color. After sampling a few colors, I attempted to open another bottle. After applying a little pressure (not much!), the bottle shattered in my hand leaving me with a rather large gash. I didn;t notice it at the time but my injury was deep enough to require stiches. The gal reluctantly assisted me and had an attitude to boot,. Never once was I asked if I was OK. The other customers in the salon at the time were very kind and asked me about my hand. Tiffany repeatedly told me that she's never seen this happen before. I hadn't either. She also told me that I should have asked her to open the bottle. I've had trouble in the past with opening bottles and have always asked the girls to help. This bottle was not difficult to open! I chalk it up to a freak accident. I proceeded to get a manicure & pedicure with my hand wrapped up. After the mani/pedi, Tiffany told me that this accident was my fault. Really!? I wasn;t playing the blame game. She would have been better off not saying a word. A little kindness goes a long way. If it were my salon, I would have asked my client if she was ok and apologized, whether or not it was the salon's fault. I also would have comped her mani/pedi as a good-will gesture. This is just basic customer service. Tiffany never apologized and , to add insult to injury (no pun intended!), asked me how I was going to pay for the mani/pedi. By this time, I was so shocked by her reaction and told her she had 2 choices. They could comp the mani/pedi and I would return or I would pay and never return. I won't be back...... read more

Hard to rate because your experience will vary depending on who does your nails. I've had a great manicure from here and one of my absolute worst. The best was from the owner. Perfectly shaped, perfectly polished and the manicure lasted two weeks without a chip. (I always wear gloves and try to never submerge my hands in water.) Good, firm massage. The worst was where the manicurist absolutely butchered my nails and I wanted to cry afterwards. Awful filing, crooked nails, bloody cuticles, rough cutting of cuticles, the polish around the nail bed started to lift after a few hours, nail polish was applied unevenly and not on the entire nail bed. Rushed, lame massage. My 8 year old daughter probably could have done a better job. So there you have it. I will probably continue to come here occasionally because it is conveniently located and the pricing is reasonable but I am always on the lookout for a better place. read more

This is a great little place! The woman at the front who handles scheduling gives an amazing pedicure. However, the woman I got a manicure from didn't do the most amazing job. She made it feel rushed and like she wanted to get it over with when there were no other people waiting to get their nails done. In terms of cleanliness I came in after another woman who was receiving a mani/pedi as well. They used an electric foot file to get rid of her caluses on her feet. It was plugged in to the wall across from the pedicure chairs. After they used it they left it sitting there on the ground for almost 20 minutes. Also, after she left the woman who did my manicure went to clean the woman's foot bath. She didn't use any disinfectant or let it soak for any amount of time, which is state board regulated. She simply took a scrub brush with soap and did a light scrub, washed it off with water, then put the scrub brush back in the washing sink. Over all, my nails look good, but it wasn't my favorite experience. Plus, it was dead silent except for the radio going in the background. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place to anyone unless it was just for the woman at the front to do your nails. read more

These ladies who works here are really nice! This place is extremely sanitized, they make you feel like you're at home. They are so gentle with their work and it is really relaxing. A great spot to spend the day with your girls. Wide range of nail polish and it does not smell as compare to other salon, I guess they use the highest quality polish ever. And it does not chip within a day or two. At first I was kind of scared to get my eyebrow waxed but I gave it a try since Tiffany did a great job with my nails. Came to this place based on the yelp reviews. Its so hard to find a good mani/pedi place in San Rafael! I didn't think it would be so hard...this is Marin we're talking about.... Its kind of rinky-dink looking from the front but it seems pretty clean on the inside. I never really understood the use of the neon signs outside, they remind me of cheap strip clubs. Anyway, the ladies were nice enough, they got me in with only an hour's notice. They have massage chairs and an ok selection of magazines. I didn't feel overly welcome, but I guess thats ok because I don't really like to talk while I am getting my mani/pedi anyway. The foot and arm massage was not long enough even though I was they ONLY one in the shop. But, they didn't get mad at me when I ruined my thumb nail right after they finished, opps! But the polish is already chipping and I was just there 2 days ago! Ugh. Good price though, only $30 for mani/pedi combo. read more

Okay, I love the ladies of La Rose Nail Spa. In my experience, there's no better place for a mani/pedi. First, the staff is super detail-oriented. Got a chip on an obscure toenail? They'll fix it & trim all of the other nails so they all look alike-- not a wobbly, off-kilter nail out of the ten. Most inexpensive salons can't claim this at all; they usually seem oblivious to the fact that one might want to view one's feet & see uniformity of nail length & shape. Second, these people are so NICE! They actually seem glad when I come in there, not biding time. They don't usually talk much, but their silence doesn't seem to the disinterested kind, if you get what I mean. Once I'd been there a couple of times, they remembered my personal preferences. Sometimes I try to learn how to correctly pronounce the names of Vietnamese food from them, and we all get a good chuckle out of how horrible I am at saying even the monosyllabic words like "mi" & "pho." Third, this is a family business. The kid who sometimes answers the phone? A Son (or, less frequently, a daughter). All of the manicurists? Sisters and cousins. I love that. Fourth and as mentioned in other reviews, this salon is very clean and well-maintained. So many inexpensive nail salons are a little scary, and this place isn't at all. It's well-lit, bright, and tidy. No weird dust bunnies on the floor, no scary bathroom. Finally, their charge of $30 for a manicure/pedicure combo is great for someone like me, who can't afford a $60 pedicure and a $40 manicure. I think this place is a real deal at $30. read more
