My husband and I were trying to figure out what to have for dinner. Remembering how delicious the food was from here last time, we decided to return to fulfill our cheeseburger craving. Unfortunately our experience with what we ordered was not on par at all with our previous visit. While the food looked appealing the burgers were burned so badly on the bottom that it affected the flavor and texture to the point that we didn't finish them. The flavor of everything tasted and smelled strongly like burnt meat and the bottom of the patty was crunchy and off putting. While the fries are normally amazing, they too tasted like the burned meat that they were packaged with. We did buy some salchipapas but didn't get around to having them after trying to eat our burgers. It was so disappointing that they would still serve these burned patties instead of starting fresh. Food is expensive but the experience and quality of what people receive is what keeps them coming back. I do have to say that although our experience today was not great, the presentation of the food (aside from the burned patty) and packaging was well done. I only wish they had cared enough to have started over. This probably will prevent us from returning for any burgers in future. read more

Visited this restaurant located in East Oakland Park, they serve Colombian cuisine. I was really surprised by hospitable service. The venue is cozy and welcoming and the staff is attentive. We ordered the papitodo, a delicious dish served with fries, sausage, bacon, chicken, beef, sweet corn all of these dipped in Colombian cheese! Every bite was incredible, the meats were tender and savory. Served with sauces but in my opinion it's perfect the way is presented and prepared. As for the drinks we ordered a club Colombian beer and a juice. The beer was great, rich flavor and perfect temperature. We also ordered a Passionfruit juice, but we couldn't really taste the fruit. I'd read about their burgers so that's what I ordered; however, they're also known for their fried potatoes with all sorts of toppings as well as hot dogs with toppings and chicken wings. I ordered a Classico burger as a combination. The combination adds a drink and fried potatoes onto your order of a basic burger. It's $3.99 more. The classic burger comes with "vegetables" (their menu description) which is a lettuce leaf and a tomato slice as well as caramelized onion and cheese. I asked for no onions -- it's really only one slice, but I didn't know this. The cheese was melted into the burger. The cooked burger was on a buttery toasted bun. It was pretty good. The side of fried potatoes was rather small. These are not French fries as they are not deep fried nor crispy. They're more like a home fry in a long shape. They were salted. They give you four different sauces -- a mayo based one, ketchup, pineapple, and one that's like thousand island dressing. You can also ask for hot sauce (sriracha) if you wish. So pull out your high school Spanish -- it's helpful when ordering -- and head over here for Colombian fast food in a very casual setting. Strange Colombian street restaurant in Fort Lauderdale that I must have driven past 20 times before we eventually went in. We walked into what looked like a refurbished fast food restaurant and stood at the large open counter with a cash register to place an order but the person behind the counter looked at us strange and told us we would order from the table. We looked at the menu and ordered from the server/manager/owner who didn't speak English when they eventually came by. The salchipapa was good, but on the sweeter side of things, and the burger was good as well. The restaurant wasn't very crowded but I think more people should check it out. We ended up paying a little more than expected because we had to sit down but overall the food was good and we were happy with the service. I looked up a burger spot since I was in broward and this place is delicious. The restaurant is clean and it looked nice. The server didn't speak much English but was nice and we made it work. The classic burger was really good. The caramelized onions were good, it tasted like a good grade of beef and the bbq sauce hit it off. The Papitodo is basically LOADED fries with curry mustard and potato sticks, sausages, beef, lots of cheese and chicken. The papitodo is really heavy. Two people can eat off it.
