    Clean and in order...

I had a business meeting in the Margate area and needed lunch, this was a random pick off the Googlely machine. The restaurant sits in an unassuming and quite ordinary, southern Florida strip mall. So the setting is not luxurious or sought after. Everything outside is clean and tidy, so I was not worried. Entering the establishment, you immediately notice how clean and fresh everything is and the pleasant aromas from the back get the juices flowing before you see the menu. I ordered Carne Asada, mainly because the flavorful but slightly tough meat charred to perfection reminds me of home. It was excellent. All the flavor I want, charred on the outside and as tender as you can ask for. The rice and beans were both prepared well and full of flavor, both just cooked and not mushy. The Salsa Picante added the heat I wanted and I squeezed a touch of lime over everything to add that zip! The Fanta takes me back to hot summers (typical summer day was 105 outside) in central Texas...so refreshing and sweet it makes me smile. I wish the proprietors the best of luck and this little place should be a must try for everyone!

Food was really good and the lady that picked up the phone and took my order was very nice. Food is very affordable.

Hidden gem! My mom is the one who actually wanted to try this restaurant and so happy we did. We have only been here for take out but when we go there's always families dining. The service is quick and friendly, food is always fresh. We have tried several plates but my favorites are the fried cheese, popusas, chicharrón con yuca, grilled chicken and rice. They also always have the colombiana sodas in stock. The only downside has been they sell out of their soups pretty fast (which is a plus for the restaurant). The restaurant itself is pretty large and has always been clean when I go and pick up my food. I'm looking forward to continuing to try new dishes!

An enormous amount of food for the money. It's my first time eating Salvadoran as well. Clean restaurant, the young server Vanessa is very sweet and speaks perfect English. I got: Chips with bean dip (complimentary) omg the beans. I've never had bean dip this good. Pupusa revuelta. A fresh griddled masa corn tortilla stuffed with seasoned bean puree, cheese, and pork. OMG. Comes with three condiments, a vinegar slaw, a puréed tomato salsa, and a spicy pickled vegetable relish (Curtido) similar to a Haitian Picklez. Now I know why this is the cornerstone of the cuisine. Bistec Salvadorena. This is a shell steak smothered with a tomato sauce, onions, and peppers (I had them omit the peppers). Big portion. Very Good. This came with a choice of two sides; I got the mixed rice and beans and the tostones. It comes with another pupusa, but they call it a tortilla because it's not stuffed with anything. Oh, and they have a green chili sauce that is freaking hot if you want it. Pastelitos: beef and potato empanadas made with corn crust, similar to a Colombian style, brought home. Edit: I just ate one. Really good. Quesadilla: this is a large sweet round, flat cake made of rice flour (I originally thought it was corn) with cheese in the mix, has cinnamon in it, a few other things. I tasted a slice of it; it's really good. I don't know why they call it a quesadilla; it has no resemblance to the Mexican one. Just get it. Oh, they got a dirt-cheap lunch special, see photo.

No sales lleno... sales derrotado. Si no has ido, ve. Si ya fuiste, sabes que digo la verdad. Y si sales con hambre... hiciste algo mal.

We chose a two top on the lovely patio. After ordering sweet tea, we were brought a basket of tortilla chips and some spicy salsa. We ordered guacamole and it was perfect. Onto the main courses: She had the taco trio with black beans/rice and I chose a chile relleno with refried beans/rice. Instead of the usual cheese stuffed poblano pepper I opted for steak + cheese, which also had some veggies in it. Very tasty. El G is a charming place and the servers are nice and efficient. We arrived at 1 pm which we found out was the perfect time. It got very busy later. Can't wait to go back with others.

I had the Birria tacos, hubby had the fried chicken chunks with added onions, our friend Bill had a delicious chicken marinated breast with rice and his awesome wife had the Mexican plate combo, which had so much food! I am so glad I took a chance on this restaurant because we all agreed it will now become a staple in our rotation of places to eat. Additionally, the staff was so genuine, kind, and nice and I love that!

It's one of those places where you feel like you're getting real value for your money. The enchiladas are my favorite. The hot sauce is so good on the food too. Sometimes, the wait is long but it's always worth it. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with fun music, TVs playing, and the staff has always been friendly and attentive whenever I've eaten there. Where they lose a star is the wait times (sometimes wait for a reallly long time) and the consistency of freshness... sometimes the food is outstanding, and sometimes it tastes old and rotten. (Like the cucumber, tomatoes or avocado toppings). My mom had a severe allergic reaction last time we ate there. Still, I like to come back because it's that good when it is good.
