Called in to arrange installation of 5 ethernet lines in my walls. Told them that my condo is 1800 sq ft., that I wanted ethernet cable put in nearly from end to end and that it would be a big job. Answered all their questions, and was quoted $750 over the phone to install 5 ethernet lines in my walls including drywall patching ($150/line). I thought it was a good price, so I accepted and set up a time several days later to start the work. On installation day, the technician arrived (same guy I talked to on the phone), said he had made a mistake about how big a job the drywall work would be, that he had "confused me with another customer," and that I would need to pay $1000 more than I was originally quoted to start work ($1750). I asked them what it would cost if I took care of the drywall myself, and they said $820 (more than what I was quoted before for installation *plus* drywall patching). Although the technician was apologetic for "his mistake," this last minute renegotiation was so far out of step with the original quote that I lost confidence in this vendor and did not feel comfortable proceeding. In particular, the fact that the "new" price just to install the lines was higher than the original quote for installation and drywall work seemed arbitrary. Based on the technician's earlier assurances, I anticipated this work to be done today or over the weekend for roughly the price I was quoted. Now I'm back to square one. This place came well reviewed on Yelp and I expected better. Be wary. read more

Let me tell you about working with Tony, and 'My TV Connection.' My first call to Tony wasn't returned immediately, and I went on to call other contractors, and listened to what they had to say. Tony returned my call the following day: My call had come in while he was on a vacation-cruise with his family. Now ask yourself: how many TV installers do you know, who would interrupt a vacation with their family, to talk business with a 'not-yet-customer' (and in my case, one with a fairly small job, in comparison to other clients)? I suspect, not very many. I liked what Tony had to say, and we scheduled an appointment for several days later. Tony also distinguished himself in two other ways, BEFORE the appointment: First, he ALONE, of all the installers I talked to, actually had the product (the MantelMount TV Mount) on-hand, eliminating my need to go through the extra step of ordering the product, before it could be installed. Second, I mentioned that I was leaning towards a particular MantelMount model, and Tony said that, after more than eighty installation jobs, he'd encountered a too-high breakdown rate, for that particular model - to the point where he was less than comfortable installing it again. He suggested a different model that was sturdier, and which had a better track record, as far as he was concerned. I countered that the model he was suggesting was several hundred dollars more expensive than the model I'd had in mind, and I expressed doubt on whether my budget would allow for the more deluxe package. Tony responded - incredibly! - by offering to sell me the more deluxe model at the same price that I would have paid if I'd bought the less expensive model! "I would prefer that you'd be satisfied with a superior product, and that means ensuring that there's no need for me to return later, to replace a defective part," he said. The installation itself went fine, except for one snag: My living room is laid out in such a way that the mount should be ideally configured to swivel the TV up to 60 degrees all in one direction - rather than the standard way of swiveling up to 30 degrees either to the left or to the right. I was intent on getting this result, which was present in the MantelMount webpage diagrams, but which was clearly impossible with the product model parts interacting before our eyes. I suggested we consult the instruction manual, and there was the solution: The parts list included a Swivel Extender plate, intended for an installation of this type - and it happened that Tony hadn't encountered exactly this type of situation before. "Ah, so THAT'S what that (extra) part was!" Within a short time, the installation was completed in the correct way, with the correct part, yielding the swivel to the degree desired. As an expert in my own line of work, I recognize that, while I know much more than the average person about how to perform my job, there are clearly times that I'm not always right, and that the customer will know something about his situation that I, as the expert, do not know. That was the case here, with me as the knowing customer, and Tony as the expert. The important point here is Tony's humility and willingness to 'roll with the situation' when we first encountered what appeared to be a stumbling block. That's a part of professional behavior that is not often encountered, and which members of the public often fail to appreciate. Tony was very solid to work with, as you can tell. He clearly has an obsession with customer service. My experience with him was great, and I'm happy to provide him, and 'My TV Connection', with a VERY HIGH RECOMMENDATION! read more

Called this company my tv connection and some guy named Tony answered and he already seemed very annoyed with my call. I was explaining to him what I needed done for my new home in Sherman Oaks. While I was explaining to him what I would like, he was doing something else and talking to some girl on the other side instead of hearing me out. And right away as I was still talking he cut me off and said he was 2 months out (whatever that means). I thought his customer service was horrible and didn't even want to schedule me in. What ever happened to, "customer service is their first priority "! Would of definitely given him more work of my 6 properties. Just moved into my new home and was looking for a company to mount 2 TVs, one in the outside patio and one in my living room. I reached out to them from Yelp and got a response from Tony within the hour. He came to my house the same day and gave me a quote that I found reasonable. I originally asked him to come the following Thursday but I had a family emergency so I called him and told him If I could change it to the following Monday. I have a curious and chatty 5 year old son. The installer, Tony, had no problem keeping up with his work as well as my 5 year old and he wasn't irritated in the least. That really matters since I have every intention of recommending My TV Connection to my friends in my moms' group and they all have curious, chatty kids like mine. If that wasn't enough to endear me to the service, my husband has been very nervous about the idea of having the TV put on the wall. He came out and met Tony and was almost instantly assured that Tony knew what he was doing. So my husband went to work without asking 20 questions and hovering as the work was being done. That is a first around here. As for me, Tony was willing to have an opinion about how high the TV should be and I appreciated that because 1) I had no idea and 2) I didn't really care. Where do I start with Tony and his team. I was in the market for a 16 camera security system for my business. What an amazing experience from start to finish. Tony first came out to my store and we did a walk through and he was very knowledgeable about the placement of the cameras to where we would capture all angles and have no dead spots. In addition, he walked me through the details of what the new system would entail (picture quality, system memory as well as examples from his previous work). I was immediately impressed with him and scheduled installation for our system. Installation: These guys do clean work. These guys pay attention to the detail, but more importantly it was clear that they took pride in their work. He was very thoughtful in the placement of the cameras, but also took into consideration exactly what I wanted to see. We had an older security system in place, and I was shocked at the quality upgrade with the new system. Post Installation: We sat down in the office as he throughly explained how the system works (playback features, download clips). He installed the app on my iphone and my laptop. The DVR system was in my cabinet and the mouse was far from my desk and I made the comment that I would buy a wireless mouse to make it easier. Tony is awesome. From the beginning, fast response on Yelp (on a weekend). We chatted - I told him exactly what I needed - needed to rewire surround speakers and Cat6 cables in house through an area with inaccessible attic. He offered some good suggestions and we were able to finish the job within several days. On day of the job, he and his team were punctual, courteous and worked efficiently. The price quoted was fair and generous if anything for the amount of time and effort they spent at my place. $175 per routed cable seemed reasonable but he also included a the materials and patching up the holes (I reapplies caulking material and painted the next day). The speakers and cables functioned perfectly and when I ran into a hiccup - I called Tony directly and he walked me through the solution. I can't say enough good things about Tony and his team at My TV Connection. I moved into a new house and needed to get a 65" TV installed above my fireplace with an IR blaster shooting the signal across the room, a 48" TV installed in a bedroom with another IR blaster, and yet another TV and IR blaster installed in a different room. I also wanted a Logitech Harmony remote programmed for one of the TVs and I had a few other tech projects as well. Tony and I exchanged some emails and talked on the phone a few times before the installation -- I had a lot of questions and he went above and beyond to make sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted and at a fair price (he'll send you a price quote before you book your appointment so you know exactly what you're paying). On the day of the installation Tony and one of his employees showed up on time, worked diligently, and finished all the work that day as promised. I've read that installations above a fireplace can be quite tricky but Tony wasn't phased for a minute. They did an amazing job on everything! They also worked extra hard to make sure that all wires are hidden and that everything looks seamless. The TV mounted above my fireplace looks absolutely stunning! I liked Tony's work so much that I called him back a second time to install the Ring Smart Video Doorbell and Chimes, the Nest Learning Thermostat, a wireless mouse to allow us to control a dedicated video monitor for some surveillance cameras we have, and some lighting controls. Again, he did a fantastic job and everything works great. Tony also helped me set up all of the apps corresponding to each new device. I'm having Tony come back a third time in a few weeks to install some technological equipment in my garage. I started out by looking for a handy man to put up this TV mount I bought at Costco. I was looking up the wrong thing all along.
