Decided to eat here for dinner since dining options on a Monday are slim pickings. The restaurant is really nice and delicious Italian food aromas hit you as soon as you walk in. The service was good but confusing. Multiple people wait on you and they didn't seem to communicate with each other very well. A server dropped a wine glass but they never cleaned up the pieces so everyone walking by was just kicking the pieces around the floor. It was very odd. I ordered the lasagna. It's definitely not your typical lasagna. More like a rollatini. The flavors were delicious. The wild boar was very flavorful but made the dish greasy. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The ratio of meat and cheese was perfect. We also ordered the garlic bread appetizer. That was out of this world. A huge portion. We had the opportunity to visit both here and Angeline in the same trip, and the bottom line is...skip Angeline (a whole nother review)!! You MUST try the Octopus app. Perfectly charred, tender, and accompanied by delicious pickled elements. 5 stars! The Lamb Milanese is absolutely the BEST lamb I have ever had, and I always thought I was preferential to the rack. But was utter perfection! Also highly recommend the Orrechietti! We had dinner at La Strada inside Harrah's and overall it was a decent experience. Sherie was our server and she was awesome, genuine, and made sure we had everything we needed. We started with the Parmesan garlic bread, which was unique: Soft, warm, and crunchy. I also had the meatballs and I actually loved the crispy outside, something different again. For my entree, I went with the tagliatelle Bolognese. It was good, very classic and comforting, but nothing spectacular. I also tasted my man's breaded lamb, I wasn't a fan. It was a bit tough and the breading didn't stick well, so that was a pass for me. I ordered the '78 G&T (which has local Alibi Gin, prickly pear, and Starlino Rosé Aperitivo). It sounded exciting but tasted just okay, and nothing else on the cocktail list jumped out enough for me to get a second round. We skipped dessert because nothing on the menu really called to us either. Overall, Sheri was the highlight and some dishes were worth trying, but I'd say La Strada is solid if you're already at Harrah's, not a must visit but not a regret either. read more

Service was good, my food was unique and well presented. The restaurant is extremely dark and has an echoey tile floor. Prepare to spend the cost of a bottle of wine for a glass ($40 for a glass of The Prisoner which is a $40 bottle). Even Capitol Grille is considerably less than this. I had the lasagne, which had wild boar meat (very unique, a bit dry as a meat, but not gamey or bad at all). A friend had a side pasta and a flatbread that were very good as well. Another friend got a chicken special, which basically looked like a piece of pounded out chicken slapped on a wet pile of mashed potatoes. Their happy hour menu (4-6pm) is great so get their calamari and shrimp fry, steamed clams and mussels and the house wine is good too. Their specials for the day, which was salmon and lump crab meat over a bed of risotto was way overpriced ($89) for a plate. Be sure to 1) ask about the cost of each daily specials if you're interested and 2) tell them that you want the wine by the glass to avoid the embarrassing, and costly, mistake we did by accidentally (involuntarily) paying for a whole bottle. read more

Located in the Harrah's Marina Resort on the second level. There is an elevator and escalator to access the restaurant. We did have reservations for 9 people, but not sure how hard it would be to just walk in for dinner. There is a bar area with seating, as well as lots of tables and booths. Let's start with the good - the service! The hostesses were accommodating and friendly. Our server, Sherry was amazing!!! She had such a terrific personality and was very friendly. She was attentive and helpful. The staff that were also helping with bread, water, dish delivery/removal, etc. were all delightful as well. Our table was constantly attended to and we were always asked if we needed anything. Very welcoming atmosphere. When you are seated, you will be asked if you want flat or bubble water. We said flat. Didn't realize that didn't mean typical tap water and saw that we were charged $68 for water. We had a party of 9 and used 7 bottles of water. I suggest making sure you clarify that you want the free/tap water. It would have been better if they would have been more transparent with the cost of the water instead of simply asking flat or bubble water. We did have several drinks from the bar. A Black Russian, various beers, Espresso Martini, Lemon Drop Martini, The Don (think Old Fashioned with a flair), wine, and a Sidecar. All were great. The Sidecar (a classic and simple cocktail) came with ice, a straw, sugared rim, and in a tall glass which were all warning signs of a bartender not knowing how to make this classic, but the flavor was spot on even though the presentation wasn't quite right. Just a minor detail but annoying when ordering a classic. The martinis were very tasty. The drinks were between $18-$23 each. Other cocktails were available and they all sounded good. They do have a good selection of food on the menu that focuses on Italian as the main theme. Our awesome server used an IPad to convey the specials of the night. There are lots of pasta dishes, seafood, and steak/chicken options. They also have a terrific dessert menu that was shown after the meal using the handy IPad (fabulous idea). For appetizers, we ordered calamari which was good. The Caesar salad was good as well - the croutons were super yummy. We also ordered garlic bread which was amazing. Plain Italian bread is also put on the table, but the butter was super hard that it wouldn't even spread. Highly recommended the garlic bread and the calamari which also has artichokes and very spicy jalapeño peppers. We would have ordered more apps, but we all wanted to make sure we had room for our dinner. For food, we ordered flatbread pizza, shrimp risotto (huge portion of risotto, light on the shrimp), chicken Parmesan (huge), seafood pasta (tons of seafood - $63), chicken Marsala, and a filet that was on the special menu (good, but not worth the $95). Everyone was happy with their selections and they were flavorful. Overall, the food was good. Nothing that we ordered was memorable or something that we all swooned over. Portions were generous and take away boxes were used by a few of us. I wouldn't return to this restaurant as the prices are just not on par with the food. The prices are very high even knowing they are in a casino resort. Our group has dined many times at restaurants in Vegas and other casino resorts with similar prices, but the quality of the food here is not of the same caliber. Our bill was over $1,000 (tip excluded) which is typical when visiting a higher end restaurant, but this isn't that - it misses the mark. For example, the filet was delicious but not $95 delicious. I have had just as good steaks at Texas Roadhouse or Outback for a fraction of the cost whereas there are some filets that I remember exactly where I had them due to their quality and taste. It seems as if they are portraying the image of being high end with their prices, but not everything that is offered fits that image. I would skip this restaurant and go to another place in the resort that has food that is just as good, but more reasonably priced. Absolute nightmare. Reservation for 8:45, they called and asked if we could come in early because they wanted to close the restaurant early. I explained that we were driving in from out of town specifically to try their food and they seemed annoyed. We showed up right in time, 8:45, and they gave us 15 minutes to order. Once we ordered all courses at one time, we popped outside for a quick smoke after ASKING THE WAITRESS (15 minutes) while the food was being prepared. Thinking we'd be greeted with our food laid out since they were in such a rush, we actually returned to the owner or manager yelling at us! He said "i called security and asked them to come grab your belongings". although i was FURIOUS, i was on an important date and did not want to make a scene. they brought out food our plated in the midst of him scolding us, so i asked for the food to be packed up to go and we ate in the room. no discount. no free dessert. no apology for the disrespect. $300 to basically be treated like scum. we were dressed to the nines, happy as could be to give them our business. Despicable experience. Beyond shocked. hopefully compensation will be in our future. read more

While we ate the bread I ordered grilled octopus and my girlfriend ordered the meatballs. My grilled octopus was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor! It was served on a bed of cream of potatoes with extra virgin olive oil, lemon zest, green bean giardiniera and basil. Absolutely perfect. I tried my girlfriend meatballs and they were soft inside and crispy outside! It came with Sunday gravey, whipped ricotta and grilled crostini. For my main course I had the lamb milanese served with cavatelli, artichokes, roasted tomatoes and mint salsa verde. The lamb chops were breaded and tender. The pasta was different. Never had that kind before but it was very good. The green salsa complimented the lamb chops adding some extra flavor to them. My girlfriend had the tagliatelle bolognese. The beef and pork were simmered for 4 hours! It consisted of red wine, fresh herbs and parmigiano. Classic Italian style bolognese. Stopped here for happy hour our first night at Harrah's. The very informative mixologist Arnell informed us that the restaurant wanted to give people a chance to try some of their phenomenal dishes for happy hour and he recommended everything on the happy hour menu. We tried it all... minus a few! The meatball flatbread was TO DIE FOR!! The Porcini Ravioli was AMAZING! Garlic bread was delicious and they serve a lot of it. I love La Strada. My family and I have been here several times. The food is always amazing! HOWEVER - the service sucks! I do not blame the waiters/waitresses/servers. But...I do believe it's the kitchen. Any time we've been here you just wait, and wait, and wait for your food to come out. It's a ridiculously long wait. No reason for it. Our servers have always been polite and accommodating so I do not blame them at all. Maybe their kitchen staff needs more help or training. But it's really rather ridiculous how long you wait to receive any part of your order. As I write this we finally got our entrees an hour and a half after we were seated! Also there's at least 4 other tables waiting for their orders. 2 tables of which came in before us. I can see the kitchen from our table. They are either short staffed or overwhelmed. My husband ordered the Chicken Marsala, and the dish exceeded expectations. The sauce was flavorful, and the chicken was cooked to perfection--neither too thin nor dry. So let's start with the fish it was overly salted and the dish smelled very fishy the spinach was bitter the garlic was terribly burnt. The bolognese had absolutely no flavor . They don't bring bread to the table and when they served the bolognese we had to ask for Parmesan cheese it wasn't offered to us . The food is overly priced and it doesn't even taste good . While on a visit to AC I was in the mood for pasta and after looking at the restaurant options I opted for La Strada. I had a reservation and was seated immediately after checking in. The space itself is aesthetically pleasing with an open kitchen concept. I started with fritto misto for the app and it was pretty good. I like that the batter was light although I would've liked the calamari to be cooked a little more. For entrees we went with Busiate and linguini with clams. The linguini with clams had a delicious white wine sauce and I was really impressed with the amount of clams, that's usually my complaint at other places. The busiate was good but honestly not what I expected. I will say that the scallops were perfectly cooked and there was lots of crab meat so kudos to them for not skimping you for one of the pricier items. Most importantly service was great. We were tended to by Rufino and Eddie. Both guys were awesome and provided great service. Coming from LA I don't get out to AC often but I would come back to try other items if I'm in the area. read more

The hostess was bringing us to our table, she was walking four tables ahead of us like she was in a rush, when they were very slow, we recommended a booth and was told they had half the restaurant closed, so the hostess tried sitting us in a place that wasn't intimate, so we asked if we could move our seat to two tables down, waitress was spectacular, but had to get the hostess to approve our move. She had a little attitude because we asked to be moved. She is the same hostess from the other Italian restaurant that was located there. We've had seen here on multiple occasions. So as I said, waitress was spectacular, gave us the cocktail menu, and they had nothing that caught our eye, so we ordered two Long Island Ice teas, we started to look at the menu, and there menu has less options when it was the other Italian restaurant. Nothing that caught our eye and the prices were definitely higher all around in their menu. Time to order our meal, my husband ordered the Carbonara, which when arrived they scrambled the egg in front of him, husband stated it had lack of flavor, no pork flavor, actually tasted like a heavy cream sauce with a tiny serving of pasta, then I ordered the chicken cutlet parm, and asked if it came with pasta, since the menu didn't specify, I was told yes and it's homemade. My meal came out, and I received a small portion of pasta ( less than a kids size) with a small really flat chicken cutlet with sauce and cheese on top. You could hardly taste the chicken since it was so thin. We opted out on dessert, and when we asked for our check, it was definitely expensive, if you're walking out and hungry 1-2 hours later. We were seated in a private area for our large group of 16. 8 of which were tweens. Our server (wish I remembered his name) was patient with us and friendly without being overbearing. The "specials" were extremely overpriced- for example the salmon, which doesn't sound like anything spectacular, was $95! Honestly, their prices are way overpriced even if the food was good and the location may demand those prices... but salmon for $95?!?! Nope! The octopus appetizer (not pictured) was one of the best I have tasted though... very tender, not overcooked like many restaurants do. It was served with small pieces of potato, tomatoes and what should have been long hots, (but were actually jalapeños). I have never tasted Fagotti, actually I had never even heard of it, but it sounded wonderful so I did. I was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of the Cheese and Candied Pear Filled Pouches with a Walnut Pesto Sauce! It was creative, it was unique, and it really was wonderful. Price was reasonable, serving size was as well. It may appear small but it is quite filling. I couldn't really finish it, but I also couldn't take it home, so I did eat every last pouch! This was a very nice restaurant. We made reservations last minute here on a Friday night and there were lots of open tables. For my entree I got spaghetti and clams which weren't that great. The mussels definitely could have been cleaned better. It tasted like I was eating ocean water and I kept getting sand in every bite. It wasn't terrible but definitely had way better. I had a bite of the carbonara and gnocchi which were both very good. I recommend this place if you're in the casino but just don't get the spaghetti and clams. Servers were great!! read more

Extremely disappointed with the front staff (Michelle) and the manager (David). I had been waiting in the Happy Hour line for some time, and when a spot finally opened, well before Happy Hour ended, I sat down and placed my small 7lb service dog on my lap, as I always do. Michelle approached me with a rude and condescending attitude, insisting I place my dog on the floor between the bar stools or leave. I explained that I would quickly bring my dog to a friend in the poker room and return, which is directly downstairs and would take less than a minute to get to... It was 5:54pm--still within Happy Hour--but she told me to wait then she returned with David, the manager. I told David there were no signs at the front indicating service animals had to remain on the floor. I again said I would be gone less than a minute to drop my dog off and return. Despite this, he insisted Happy Hour was over and refused to seat me. I explained I had clearly been waiting in line well before the cut-off time, but he remained dismissive. The way both Michelle and David handled the situation was extremely disappointing--unnecessarily difficult, lacking in understanding, and ultimately, they turned away a paying customer over something that could have been easily resolved with a bit of courtesy and common sense. This kind of treatment is a poor reflection on what is otherwise a good restaurant. Very disappointing. read more

Had dinner at La Strada last night. (2 people/ 9pm reservations) arrived a little 15 min earlier and we were seated by 9. Atmosphere: nice first impression, but did notice that it was a little loud in the restaurant. We actually had a big lunch and neither of us were overly hungry so just got a soup and entree. They brought us drinks and took our orders very quickly. The staff was very friendly. From the time our order was placed until the entrees arrived at the table was exactly 1 hour. I feel this is long to wait especially since we didn't order any appetizers. (My soup came with my dinner as requested), so for a full hour we just had drinks and bread on the table. The food was very good. Chicken parm was very good. If not for the hour wait I would have given another star. read more

My partner and I ate at LaStrada this past weekend. Our waiter gave us the dinner and drink menus. I asked about the $69.99 menu and was told, "That's only for the bar". After explaining that it was a 3 course dinner menu that LaStrada has been advertising, he went to check and returned with a printed $69.99 menu for both of us. He then went on to say that if we wanted to order from the $69.99 menu, then we BOTH had to order from it. I don't see this stipulation anywhere online. We ordered from the regular menu and both of us enjoyed our meal, but the service was a bit off. read more
