I just had my first tanning session with L.A. Tan and I enjoyed it! I've always wanted to try a tanning booth but never carved out the time to do so until recently. This location was the highest rated on Yelp so a week before my first session, I visited this location and spoke with Maya. Maya gave me a quick layout of the land and showed me the types of tanning beds and additional services (i.e. Red Light Therapy and VersaSpa/Spray Tan) they offer. I had my sights set on the tanning beds but wanted to choose the right one for me and my skin type. I'm already pigmented and can tan easily so I opted to start out with the level 2 type tanning bed. The tanning beds are graded by the level of (UVA/UVB) intensity with levels 1-2 being the lowest grade. The 1-2 levels are great for beginners and those new to tanning facilities. Levels 3-4 are your intermediate levels and lastly levels 5-6 offer the most intense, deep color tans requiring minimal time in the bed/booth. They have standing tanning booths or lie flat tanning bed options. I chose to do a level 2 bed and laid in their Uwe Lotus. I'll have to admit I did feel a little claustrophobic in the bed but after a few minutes, you get used to it. It can get a little loud inside because you'll hear the cooling fans go but the beds are nice and warm. Since you're surrounded by lamps, there really is no need to turn during your session to even out your tan. Maya recommended using the lotions prior to tanning since the lotions help moisturize your skin while locking in and retaining the color from the lamps well after your session. Being new to this I bought their half ounce sample lotions. I used the entire sample packets for my face and body. After one session I instantly noticed color on my skin! I did not come out looking orange (which I was afraid of) and I left a shade darker with a nice tan! You will need eye goggles to protect your eyes while you're in their bed. They sell them on site for $4.00. My overall tanning session was 12 minutes but set aside at least a half hour for lotion prep before with time to change afterwards. The cost of my tan session was under $18 as of 2.3.2024. This was minus the cost of the lotion and goggles purchased onsite. If you've never done it before, I would recommend trying it once. They respect my time and always have a pleasant greeting when I get there. I have been to other LA Tan's, but I go out of my way to go to Morton Grove because of their outstanding service. It's been forever since I came to a LA Tan... like 10+ years. I needed to complete a few sessions before attending a wedding coming up. Upon entry, I was greeted by a friendly front desk employee named Madeline. She was helpful, knowledgeable, and when I asked for her opinion on the right package to choose for my upcoming tans, she was informative but not pushy. Madeline made me feel like I had stepped into a LA tan salon less than 10 years ago. She ensured I walked away with protective eye gear (required now lol) and hooked me up with some lotion. She also took the time to walk me through the bed options. Each room was spotless and I can tell they keep up with cleaning. It's been forever since I tanned here, but she just made me feel really welcomed upon arrival. Customer service skills set businesses apart and she completely won me over. So I was in the area and figured I go tanning to kill some time before my dinner reservation. Madeline working at the front is beyond sweetest person. She was so sweet that I even signed up for a membership thanks to her telling me about the deals going on. I go to Wheaton location all the time and no one has told me any promotions or upgrades you can do to sign up. Shoutout to her ! Salon was fine. But I don't know if the girl there gave me what I wanted. I asked for 15 minutes she said ok and it did 10 minutes. I don't know if the tanning bed only went to 10 or she didn't listen. I told her I wanted level 6 several times and she just said the 1 to 6 level ok. The front staff is friendly and attentive. The woman at the front took time to show me how to adjust the fan in the tanning beds to my liking. I hadn't been there in a while so I forgot and this was useful. They also informed me of discounts and specials as I was leaving. The facility was clean and beds were nice. Old Dempster location moved to harlem now. Might look cleaner upon entering but still same manager seems like. The SUPER tan lady from the last location. I always buy Versaspa self tan mist for around $32 to $35 a can. Yesterday I paid $37. I asked because seemed high, she said I probably got a deal last time and that they "are originally $45". I've never seen it for $45, not even online anywhere! There was no need to lie. Spay tan at my old L.A tan was $10 on tuesday, here she said $15 for the lighter shade and $20 for darker. Seems they are out to rip people off. Esp since their spray tan machines still leave you patchy and wet still. read more

I have been to this location multiple times! The manager is awesome and knows her product and packages well.
