I am a new customer and after spending $60 for tanning bed sessions I won't be returning. The staff is VERY nice and friendly but the rooms are so tiny that it is difficult to comfortably undress. The exception is the standup bed, that room is larger and I would recommend you use that machine. I was there today to use my last minutes and a customer was in the waiting area not wearing a mask and playing with her phone. I asked the staff member (who was very nice and polite) why she wasn't wearing a mask. He asked "Kayla" if she had a mask and she gave him a blank stare. Well, I certainly hope "Kayla" doesn't have Covid and didn't spread it in this tiny business. She got up and walked to the back for her treatment still w/o a mask on. The staff member appeared more concerned about seeing my eyewear and charging me $1 for cheap stickers than policing customers not wearing masks. Yes, my eyewear was in my car and I could have left and come back but that's not my point. I won't be returning mostly because the rooms are so incredibly tiny, not because of the service. read more

I have been tanning here for the last two months. I was initially worried to get back into a tanning bed in the midst of everything going on with the pandemic. After coming to Halsted Street Beach Tanning and seeing how seriously they take the cleaning measures I felt much more comfortable. He has always been extremely polite, goes out of his way to remember my name, etc. My birthday was this past week- since I do not go out anywhere besides to tan or get groceries I have very little face to face interaction with people. Jeremy noticed it was my birthday and wished me a happy birthday. It's a small gesture, but it was the only face to face birthday wish that I received this year. Kyle (the owner) makes sure that all of his employees are very knowledgeable when it comes to not only the tanning beds but also the spray tans, waxing, and different products that are available. He knows skin types and gives advice on how dark or light you should go. The solution they use lasted through a beachside music festival for three days in Florida. I swam in the ocean two times, swam in a pool two times and took 4 showers. By the end it was still there! Kyle knows about his products and does a great job of explaining the science of tanning. I have super pale skin and have never been able to get tan from sun also I'm afraid of wrinkles so I love spray tans for events but also in the summer / spring just to feel good. These guys are the bomb. They contour and shape and use the best formula- it's all natural and organic based color so it lasts longer and looks better on skin. It doesn't have that bad fake tan smell either. I've been getting spray tans since high school and these ones do not look like the classic "oh did you get a spray tan?" like the box ones at a normal salon.
