Just be cautious,
Rather quaint family business, the wine was cheap, not good, but cheap and the food was good
especially the spaghetti.
HOWEVER, we enquired if we could pay by card prior to getting the bill and were told yes, then the way the main director was behaving made me feel suspicious. We chose to pay with our Travel Card and were told there was a problem with this card working in their system which was the reason the paper was printing blank so after quite a bit of confusion we paid cash for our meal.
As soon as we got home I checked my card transactions and sure enough the payment had been processed.
We were still in Palermo so we went back the next day during the lunch service to explain there had been a mistake and it was agreed that perhaps the paper had been inserted incorrectly into the Eftpos machine. To their credit they refunded our cash payment promptly, then there was a big show of smiling and handshaking as we were told to walk away now.
I understand mistakes happen and would like to give them benefit of the doubt??????
(This wasn't the only restaurant that we had a payment confusion with, another one in the same vicinity told us Card payment was not possible - we hadn't asked if it was prior to dinner because they had Visa/MasterCard etc stickers on the doors, when it became obvious that we just didn't have enough cash to pay the bill the Owner decided he would be able to "help us out" and all of a sudden an Eftpos machine appeared)
