We arrived at Dorado town very hungry. Yelp reviews were the reason to come and we were so pleased! They had a NY Steak special which was perfectly cooked and lean snd very flavourful. The Mero fish Filet was fresh and tasted awesome in its crusty plantain breading. Majado vianda was super tasty good. The place is quiet and family oriented. Large cozy informal seating but elegant too. The staff very friendly and knoledegebla. We will be back!! Two thumbs up for us!! read more

Excellent service and very fresh seafood. They have a iced display of fresh fish as you walk in. It is open air, but very enjoyable. Have authentic Puerto Rican food - monfongo in pilons with different seafood and meats. Good drinks as well. Been here about six times. read more

Beautiful, romantic place to sit for dinner. I felt like I was away with the string of lights, tiki umbrellas and barrel tables. Our server Jonathan was great very attentive and spoke great English I hope they give him a raise :) the owner came over and introduced himself which was great, a very nice ambiance. We didnt even get a chance to eat. Very poor customer service from hostess. We had a group of 6. When we came in the restaurant was empty. They wanted to sit as at smaller table. There was a bigger table available. We preferred the bigger but was told that we could not sit there just in case some tourist came in and needed it. She was very rude about it so we left. Here in town for work and this is a very quick walk from the hotel I'm staying at. Food was really great. I had the Santa Fe Turkey Burger and PB&J milkshake. A lot of the times with turkey burgers they can be dry but this was very moist and flavorful. Has jalapeño but not overpowering at all. Very staff had assisted me. Would definitely return. read more

We walked from our resort, Embassy Suites. The waitress was awesome - she played peek-a-boo with our 2 year old while waiting for our food and drink. The food was delicious and it didn't take too long to get our food. The patio is amazing! It is pricey but we knew that going in. The skirt steak and monfongo with chicken & veggies were delicious. I am reviewing this place for the service, not the food. My friends and I were looking for a good restaurant in Dorado and asked to see a menu. Presumably the owner came up to us and refused to give us a menu, instead luring us in and seating us. He brought us water and chips and menus and then left us for at least 15 min. During this wait, we realized that we did not want anything from the menu because it was pricey and seafood - which we were not in the mood for (attached is a food menu so you can make the decision in advance). We decided we would split an appetizer and then leave, but the owner/waiters neglected our table. We ended up walking out for lack of attention. read more

What a great find. We made a reservation, but one of us woke up from a nap with a fever, so we had to cancel at the last minute. They were especially gracious, and based on the reviews and the way they reacted, we decided to bring in food. It was absolutely delicious (and they even brought it out to the car for us)...and we enjoyed so much so that, by unanimous acclaim, we are going back there on our last night of vacation (always reserved for the best restaurant we have eaten at during our stay). read more

The food here was amazing. This was my first time here and I ordered the Skirt Steak with Chimicurri Sauce. The steak came out cooked to perfection. The red Sangria I ordered was really tasty. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food selections. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good place to eat while eating in PR. I give this place a 3 star because it has potential in the right hands of a smart owner. The employees look like they really do not want to be working. The food was very salty no big deal for food. This place was just magic. As a tourist I've learned that great yelp reviews notwithstanding, you're always taking a gamble when you choose a restaurant on vacation. But I couldn't be more pleased that I chose La Terraza. The decor is very jungle inspired and sitting on either level makes you feel like you're sitting in a treetop. Everybody from the waitstaff to the ownerLuis is super warm and attentive. You definitely get a local/ "where everybody knows your name" vibe. Finally I can't say enough about the food. The hummus and warm tortilla chips they bring out at the beginning of each meal is addictive and that's saying a lot. I don't even like hummus! Everything I tasted was divine although I'd highly recommend shrimp mofongo (has a million decent sized shrimp in it) or skirt steak with rice and the best beans I've eaten in recent memory. One star and barely that. We were going based on what we had heard through the grapevine. From the outside looking in, on a summer Friday night, it looked empty. We actually drove by a few times. Decided to give them a shot. There was only one other table full. We waited to be seated. After about a minute, someone finally came to greet us and told us to seat ourselves. Strike number 1. Next, we were basically thrown the cheap looking menus. Strike number 2. Very limited menu which wasn't the issue but the prices for the service was unmatched. We looked over our menus for quite a bit and no waiter came to ask us for drinks. Talking amongst ourselves, we decided we didn't really care for anything on the menu but we were willing to give them a try. We called a waiter over to ask some questions. Mr. "no personality" answers my question and walks away. Still did not ask us what we wanted to drink. Strike number 3. After about 10 min, we got up and left. Never again. I say if you want to overpay for horrible service then this is your place. If not, go down a few feet to the many other choices. We are sitting in one now and immediately the service was impeccable. Owner has even come to our table to greet us. And by the way the reason I gave it a star at all is because the only friend face was the valet worker. This place is one of our favorites in Dorado. It is very casual, friendly, & moderately priced, & the traditional Puerto Rican dishes are great. There's an upstairs terrace which feels more casual, and frequently has music or videos playing (bar & grill feel), and the more restaurant-y downstairs. The food & drinks are the same so it's up to you & the weather where you should sit. We've been with parties of up to 15 (frequently with children) & they've always accommodated us easily. They have the standard hamburgers & chicken fingers for kids, & they speak English like everyone else does in this area. Enjoy! read more

Very nice ambience and friendly and attentive service. Had the fried calamari as a starter and two different Mahi Mahi dishes followed by passion food creme brulee. Calamari were not really worth it. A lot of batter with few calamari and a very strange white sauce on the side with some ketchup in it. Entrees were very tasty. Creme brulee was a bit too sweet and the caramelized sugar layer was too thick. Overall, I would give it 3.5 stars. Since the owner and his staff were so nice, I round it up to 4 stars. read more

My wife and I came to Dorado and had a rough time trying to find a great restaurant, that had great authentic Puerto Rican food. La Terraza filled the bill and so much more. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for appetizers, and I ordered the Ahi Tuna with a side of mofongo (an authentic plantain dish), My wife ordered the strip steak with an amazing "chimichurri" sauce... EVERYTHING was amazing. I am normally a fast eater, and I took every bite as slowly as possible to try and enjoy and lengthen every piece of flavor. Everything was great and the service was prompt also. I would and will recommend La Terraza to anyone going to, or going through Dorado. read more

The place is really cute and we love that we get to sit outside to listen to the coqui's. The appetizer was a chorizo stuffed mushrooms, which came with 2 for $10. They were good but a little pricey for 2 mushrooms. I got the shrimp mofongo and that was the best thing we had all night. My husband got the Ahi Tuna and he couldn't eat it. It had a weird taste and texture. I thought it was over cooked. The waiter was really good but never asked if my husband liked his meal or not. Crepes for dessert was good. Drove from San Juan to check out this place which was highly recommended. Service started out great with our waitress from NJ who was super attentive. Unfortunately another waiter took our food order and forgot to enter the ticket. Asst Mgr Wilfredo was very accommodating and took care of all the food cost. When the food finally came out, it was just okay. Maybe they were rushing. May give them another try if I'm in the area but can't see myself making a special trip to visit. read more

I was not impressed. I started with the octopus appetizer, and the taste was off a bit and was very rubbery. The snapper I ordered as the main entree was pretty good, but my experience was spoiled by the poorly prepared octopus. My mother's lobster was also quite rubbery and overcooked. Disappointing for such an expensive meal. On a high note the service was pretty fast and efficient, no complaints there. read more
