The patio here is beautiful, which made it all the more disappointing that despite plenty of empty seats outside, I was seated alone inside. And with the entire indoor dining room empty, I was somehow placed at the most uncomfortable table in the room. The food was okay. Not bad, but nothing memorable. After a week of eating my way through the region, this was the most average meal of the trip. Staff was fine but not particularly warm or attentive. With so many great options in Courmayeur, I'd expect more from a place with this reputation and these prices. read more

We asked at our hotel for a recommendation for a good local Italian restaurant and they helped us make a reservation to La Terrazza. We're glad they did! Here is what we noticed: - We arrived for our 7 PM reservation and there was already a line. We were seated in the patio next to a table of 8 or 10 people that were really loud. It was a little annoying at first since the rest of the patio was empty, but it too eventually filled up and the whole room got loud. - The menu is pretty extensive and according to our server the two sections are divided into local specialties and national specialties. - We decided not to order a bottle of wine this night, but there were a lot to choose from. My wife got a glass of Prosecco and I got a local beer. - We ordered the beef tartar to start, which was very, very good. Following that, we split the bigoli and a side of grilled vegetables. The bigoli pasta was like a carbonara and it was absolutely amazing. - We decided not to have dessert, but our server came by and offered us a complementary limoncello or genepi shot. We got one of each. - Service was good...attentive, but not overbearing. Bottom line: Make a reservation and go to this place... It's well worth it! read more

We were in Courmayeur during a holiday week in Italy (August 2024) which meant that most restaurants were completely booked. Our hotel recommended La Terrazza to us. The food here was great. The staff was accommodating despite our limited ability to speak Italian. We shared the beef tartare to start. I had the Pesce San Giorgio and my husband ordered the orchiette. Everything was enjoyable. Be aware that there is a 3 Euro "cover charge" per person. Maybe that's normal in Italy, but we thought it was odd. read more

So glad to have stumbled into this gem during our family holiday in June. Four months later we still reminisce about the lovely time we had at La Terrazza, hence this review. We enjoyed a lunch on the terrace, including the trout ravioli, and all was fresh and delicious. On a blistering hot day, it was refreshing and calm. The staff was attentive and considerate. The manager/owner was especially kind and good-humored, giving us--and our young son--one of the best welcomes we've experienced in our European travels. We'll be back and are already recommending La Terrazza to friends and family traveling to the Courmayeur area. read more

The most perfect spot!!! The staff and owner are absolutely wonderful, the setting is beautiful, and the meal was the best yet. I'm not sure about reservations but they were able to sit our big group of 7 when we arrived shortly after they opened at 19:00 for dinner. Amongst our group we shared 4 different starters and each got our own meal - portion size is perfect and the starters you don't want to miss! Everyone loved the salmon trout and wish they ordered it because it was so tasty. Also, we all raved that the tiramisu was the best we have ever had. read more

I would travel to Italy just to eat at this spot again! I was there for 4 nights total and ate there two nights. We were with a group of 6 so were able to sample many dishes on the menu. Every single thing was delicious. The Prosecco was the best that I've had yet and it was inexpensive. The own was so welcoming and seemed honestly excited when we went back another time. He just warmed our hearts! If you're making phone reservations have your translation app handy if you don't speak Italian. Learning a few quick phrases will make it a bit easier. :) read more

It's right in town. It's we'll run. The food is good and not overpriced. Lots of hikers on the TMB and locals or tourists with dogs are here. Pasta: ravioli was excellent. Wild boar pasta was earthy and tomato/smokey fun. Meat: veal is covered in ham and cheese. Get the grilled vegetables as your side. The chicken is rolled with pork and served with cream sauce. It's good. The mixed salad is a joke. It's lettuce. Nothing else. Tiramisu was average. Didn't try the house wine. read more

La Terrazza was the perfect spot for dinner as my family and I arrived in Courmayer. The ravioli was yummy, and the tiramisu was delicious. Overall, the staff were friendly and attentive, but the manager was especially entertaining - very friendly and outgoing gentleman who gave us the warmest welcome to our first stop in Italy! Coming out of the cold in Courmayeur into Pizzeria La Terrazza was warm and welcoming. We had six people at the table, and ordered every appetizer that was listed on the menu. The fresh meats, cheeses and delicacies delighted all of us. We had all ordered small plates as well, but were almost too full from our first selection to finish the next! The fondue was also wonderful. So was the polenta. We had the house red, and it was just ok. The dessert wines were fabulous, and the panna cotta was the tip of the iceberg for a great dinner. I highly suggest making a reservation and enjoying a lovely evening at this restaurant. Enjoy! read more

We went to La Terrazza for a business dinner while in the ski town of Courmayeaur. It had been recommend by our hotel as the best in town, but it was truly an awful dining experience. Service was rude and unhelpful. The menu was poorly planned and executed, with numerous starch/carb dishes. We started with a potato flan that was too rich/heavy. Followed by lasagna and risotto that was average at best. Hoping for some diversity, yet more potatoes were served, this time with veal drenched in ham and cheese. Finally, they brought a sketchy colored grey polenta with carbonata that no one wanted to touch. This place felt very touristy and would definitely not recommend it. read more

Quaint and cozy, was the perfect place to order a bottle of local valley wine and some pasta. We got there 20 minutes before they opened (opens at 7:00) without a reservation. They were really kind and let us sit down, but didn't start service until 7:00. Highly recommend making a reservatation or getting there early because it got really crowded, and the line looked long later in the night. We had the cold cut platter, gnocchi, and mint ravioli. All were good, the ravioli was super buttery and borderline too decadent, but the mint leave flavor was really creative. For dessert we had the gelato and fudge. It was good, but not that impressive. If I were to revisit, would try one of the fruit tarts. read more

Every shopkeeper in town recommended this place so we figured we had to give it a shot. We were able to make reservations and were seated on the edge of the terrace with a nice view- which ended up being the only nice thing about our experience. The staff started out friendly but when they realized that we were only going to order a few plates and a couple of glasses of wine, the service took a turn for the worst. It took almost 2 hours to bring out our pasta course after we were served a course of attitude from multiple waitstaff because we asked where our food was after 90+ minutes. Food was decent, but not worth all of the recommendations. read more

This is our go-to-place in Cormayeur. The food is spectacular - everything fresh and the service is great. It's like so many restaurants around here - family owned and run. When we have dined here we've shown up early with the kids, and the family have been eating their own diner before opening. They sat us down and ended their own dinner early to get us served. They also were helpful getting our daughter some gluten free pasta that was great. Lots of good reasons to like this place. read more

I have eaten at restaurants of all types all over the world but our meal at la terrazzo has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The restaurant was recommended by the hotel where we stayed and they made the reservation for us since we were a large party of nine. We were seated immediately but from then on we were treated as unwanted guests. The server seemed angry at us and rarely stopped be the table. Candles were not lit; we were not given plates for bread; the server eventually and begrudgingly took our order. When it eventually arrived, the food was just ok for others at my table--mediocre. However, I ordered ravioli which was bland, tasteless and cold and was swimming in watery butter sauce--in a word, awful. We noticed that the proprietor and his wife were attentive, warm and welcoming with other guests, most of whom seemed to be Italian. They never looked our way. My recommendation is to avoid this place at all costs (unless perhaps if you are Italian). It was a miserable experience for us. read more
