We scored at actual parking spot just behind the store. Parking is limited for this store. In the same parking lot there are spots marked for the Smoke Shop. This lot has about 10 spaces and part of that 10 belongs to the Smoke Shop. This thrift stores has plenty to offer! From large framed prints for the wall to roller skates. Plenty to look at. There is an upper level where furniture, wall hangings to glassware is displayed. It's pretty roomy up there even with the furniture. I found the prices to be reasonable too. I would have like to purchase a couple of large wall pieces home, but I had no room to pack in my car since I was camping. The wall pictures I found to be priced lower than I expected! That's a plus. At the front of the store on the front porch were anything on wheels and outdoor furniture. You can tell the store has been there awhile. But it was well organized and clean. The staff were all friendly. The staff are men who are making a positive change in their lives. This place gives them the opportunity to work. This store has a sister store a building over, The Restoration Store. Go check that one out too. read more

He made our experience so memorable, we laughed, we smiled, we cried (I'm kidding about the crying). He cut me a deal on the 10" pan lid that was unmarked, and I offered a dollar, and Jesse offered a coin flip. I won! 75cents for the pan lid instead of $2 Then he did the coin flip for my friend! I am a huge fan of this thrift store and have been here 20 times over the past 10 years. The best thing about it is they date everything. I noticed most of the items I buy have recently come in. San Clemente has a ton of older residents and as they clean items out, I feel like they end up here. Lots of appliances, dishes and cute beach stuff. Great art and print for super cheap $5-$20. She was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and needed to reorganize her place to make it more adaptable to her needs. That meant clearing out a lot of miscellaneous "stuff" that was either in the way or just not being used anymore. We met with David at the store in SC and arranged for the pick up. He could not have been more welcoming, compassionate, and professional. His calm, helpful, GENUINELY caring demeanor really put my friend at ease and for that I will always be grateful. He texted her the night before with his anticipated arrival time and showed up when he said he would. Not everyone is that punctual or professional, but David and his crew are. I've said it before and will again. THIS IS A GREAT STORE! Yesterday I bought an air fryer for less than half the price Costco offered it at. I had to clean it up a bit just as I would have after a week of use having bought new. I works great! I have to look after people and they gotta eat. Thanks. I dealt with John upstairs. We've bought furniture, electronics, tools, sporting goods etc. He doesn't give this stuff away as he has to look after folks too. He's invariably professional and likable. After moving we had extra furniture items that didn't fit in our cars that we wanted to donate: from a large mirror to a patio heater. La Tienda was able to schedule a pick-up of our donations for the following week. They called this morning to give a heads up they are on the way and they accepted all of our items. We just happened to be in town last Saturday and decided to stop by here. What a find! This is a large two-floor space with plenty of clothing, furniture and sporting goods. It's kind of overwhelming really. But everything was laid out clearly and items weren't in messy piles. My family had a great time combing through the selections. As with any thrift store, timing plays a role in whether you find something, so didn't end up getting a whole lot except for a collander and funky bracelets. But if we had brought our minivan, we would have walked away with a large mirror or two. Next time! read more

This thrift store is the best! So many clothes and shoes to browse and a huge upper level stocked with housewares, books, and furniture. The staff are always kind, friendly, and helpful, and the prices are out of this world. The only improvement I wish they would make is the doors on the fitting rooms are a little tricky to get opened and closed, but that's not a deal breaker for me. Please, store manager, spend a little bit more time at this store. San Clemente has changed since I moved here. Near our pier, there was a hostel described as (in Harvard Publishing's Let's Go) being so laid-back as to be almost comatose. 2 BR apartments went for $800, a third of the going rate. Rentals were inhabited by peaceful, lazy-voiced surfers. I'm not sure if it is a good town to live in anymore. The surfing community has gotten political, erratic and angry. This is amazing and concerning. I keep a low profile but felt the need to speak out today. I realized I needed to review this, one of my favorite stores (for 3 decades) after I was accused of stealing, a first for me I must say. I've sometimes overpaid here for certain items because it is a charity store. I am careful with our money but sometimes generous with certain purchases, many times I have done that here. I was wearing a backpack purchased 20 years ago since I am on foot and was anticipating a purchase of an inexpensive but bulky item. This time, rare for me, I left without making a purchase. When I came to the cash register there were 2 workers left in the store. One of them had followed me around, talking to himself oddly. While shopping, I had pondered whether he was affected by some sort of substance. After the initial accusation I was informed about how much harder the cashiers life had been compared to mine. He is perhaps a third of my age and has not seen what I have seen. I was non-plussed. I have loved shopping at all of our thrift stores. I was elbow to elbow with other thrifty moms back when my sons were outgrowing their clothes too fast, obtaining clothing for our family members and other great deals. Some years back Laura's House Thrift Store moved elsewhere. Since then, the store at 510 north El Camino Real has had many chaotic changes . An increasingly erratic, angry management as represented by unsupervised rehabbing store workers who are unready for the responsibilities given them have decimated the profitability of this high rent store. Is this a money laundering operation perhaps? Just kidding! I have seen political/religious conversations started by store employees resulting in customers on line sighing and reluctantly putting down their purchases and quietly leaving. I have seen the once busy store with long hours and long lines stop making money. I have seen erratic inconsistent absurd pricing become the rule. This WAS a terrific store. There is "nobody watching the store". Perhaps the store manager is also dealing with the chaos that results from detoxing from drug addiction as are the store workers. Our library is being sold to developers as is, no doubt, most/all of North Beach. Is there perhaps an agenda for this location too???? These days, San Clemente fancies itself as another Newport Beach. Hah! We are not that kind of beach town. 3 decades ago I read a Forbes magazine article regarding the Feng shui of Orange county's predicting difficult times for this place. Subsequently Orange County went bankrupt. What is going to become of this town? A 30 year resident I am increasingly disgruntled. Restaurant and retail employees are hard to find, I hear. Please, business owners, try harder. We can do better. Go ahead, don't let this review be posted; my 2 neighbors are extremely well connected multimillionaires including a town council-member. I met a girlfriend for lunch in San Clemente & we hit up a few thrift stores. The location of this store is great with wonderful fresh ocean breezes. The store is small with a limited selection & the guy at the front counter was nice. I didn't find anything but my friend bought a few items. I would come again if I was ever in the area. read more
