I was looking for a background live scan check that I need for registering for my NCLEX PN exam near my school last year December and I found out that LA translation now doing it too. So after years since I used their service, I came here again because it is like only 5 minutes away from my school and I only have a lunch break 1 hour to get it so I called and they said I can come. Luckily, one person finishing up his Live scan check and I did papers works, gave my id for copy, and did the live scan fingerprinting. It was quicker than I expected. I appreciate they double check for any spelling error and info before submitting. After the experience, I told my other classmates to get theirs too and they did. I was charged better price than the other three places I found on yelp that I called before L.A. Translation. As a student, saving $40 is good. I highly recommend to Nursing students who needing background livescan check to come here for quick service and most reasonable price for it. I had no problem and I scheduled my NCLEX PN exam with no problem. Also, one of my friend needed her letter to USCIS to get notarized so I called and asked and John said they do notary and to just tell my friend to bring the copy of her documents and so I recommended her to try come here and she did. She said she also had a very quick good experience and it was very helpful experience. I worked with LA Translation and Interpretation as a freelance translator, and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing. They contacted me for translation work, we agreed on the price, and I delivered the completed assignments on time. The total unpaid amount is USD 115. I sent the invoice multiple times and followed up many times, but I have not received payment or a clear explanation. It has now been over 100 days since delivery, and the payment is still outstanding. I also completed another small task for USD 10, and the payment issue continued. John and Jenny were involved in the communication, but after the work was delivered, responses became very poor and my payment follow-ups were ignored. I do not recommend working with this company as a freelance translator unless payment is secured upfront. Freelancers should be very careful and think twice before accepting assignments from them. read more

Extremely poor quality translation services. Junhui Park (Joo, a.k.a. Jenny Park) produced a one-page Korean-to-English translation containing over 20 errors, despite being provided with a correct reference translation. Even after notification, she refused to correct the mistakes, insisted on using her inaccurate version, and demonstrated a lack of understanding regarding standard Hangul romanization and address formatting. Consistency was poor, with the same names spelled differently throughout the document. Furthermore, the turnaround was slow, taking four days and a follow-up reminder to have her mail the document, followed by a total cessation of communication when asked for a copy. read more

Unfortunately after numerous requests, I am still waiting for a refund so I can pay the replacement. Supposedly sent Zelle refund which they claim is held for a day. This review is for the livescan FBI fingerprinting. They charged me 150 dollars for helping to register with applicantservices.com , then paid for 47 dollars on their own, then provided fingerprinting. What they don't disclose is that you can register yourself and get a QR code after paying 47 dollars with your own credit card. Once they send you the QR code, you take it to a livescan fingerprinting place and they fingerprint for you without any additional charges. I called biometrics and they said charging any additional fees is unethical. Biometrics informed me that they will drop him and he will no longer be able to provide FBI fingerprinting services... I tried to ask for a refund and he said he's the one who helped register me and that I didn't so he's charging 103 dollars for a supposed service. Biometrics tried to advocate for me and suggested going through my credit card company to get a refund. When I said this to John, he said he would dispute it and that he'd see me in small claims court... read more

Without exaggeration, the most unprofessional, disorganized, and dishonest agency I have had the displeasure of working with in my fifteen-year career as a translator. I have an outstanding invoice for nearly $10,000 (yes, ten *thousand* dollars) for translating several tens of thousands of words of complex and technical legal judgments from Japanese into English. Despite four months having passed since sending my invoice (with receipt confirmed) and a month having passed since the payment deadline, and reaching out multiple times to inquire about payment and receiving excuses and assurances that the check was in the mail, I have yet to receive any payment. At this point, it's looking like I'll have to resort to small claims court to get paid. No translator or interpreter of any competence should ever work with these people, and no potential customer needing translation of documents of any importance should use their "services". Attorneys and law firms in particular should steer far clear, as also suggested by previous reviews. read more

Tried to hire this company to interpret for a deposition. They said we needed to pre-pay so they generated an invoice using Quickbooks. I was unable to pay, so I called and provided them my credit card over the phone. When we tried to confirm 24 hours prior they said they never received payment. They were so disorganized and unprofessional we canceled and hired another company. Attorneys, never ever use this company, it's too risky and they could negatively impact a case. read more

I would not trust this company with anything remotely important or time sensitive. My experience with Jenny and John was horrible and it almost cost my wife her Green Card, because we of their unprofessionalism and lack of preparation. About 2 weeks before our interview, we had booked L.A. Translation and even paid them $300 in advance via QuickBooks. After having taken our money, they had not booked an interpreter until I reached out to them myself, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE INTERVIEW! When I called, Jenny simply told me that a person named John was handling this matter and that they will get back to me. Needless to say, they never got back to me. So I called them back the day afterwards. This time, John picked up. John seemed to be unaware about this case and he said that they will look for interpreters. Keep in mind... this was literally ONE DAY BEFORE OUR INTERVIEW, despite having paid them the money two weeks before that. I probably called John a total of 4 or 5 times that day because each time, he would tell me that he's trying to book an interpreter and wasn't able. At around 5:45 PM (when I called again), he told me that Junhui Joo will be handling my matter. Although I was very annoyed at their last minute preparation and unprofessionalism, I thought that I no longer have to worry about this issue and that Junhui will meet me in the morning. But it was far from over! The morning of the interview at 10:21am (which is one our before our scheduled interview...), I received an email from them saying that my interpreter has been switched to a person named Romano Lee. I spoke on the phone with Romano, and he was under the impression that our interview was the DAY AFTER... This was about 45 minutes before the interview and he said that he was in Orange County (my interview was in Downtown LA). We were to meet at 11am. This means that he had to get from OC to DTLA in 15 minutes. Obviously, that was impossible. We ended up firing this company and handled the interview on our own. This experience with this company was horrible, not to mention extremely stressful on such an important matter. Do not trust this company with anything that is important to you. read more

if I could leave negative 5 star review I would . DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Its super unprofessional and unrelaibale on top of incompetent as they don't even do their services right. I called to ask about a translation for two birth certificates I explained to them I was in a rush because I wasn't informed that I needed these documents in time and had a appointment at 3:45 for our marriage license that day I asked them if they could have it done by 3 pm that would be amazing and I could send payment right away but If not to let me know so I could reschedule . They said they could , I have it on the invoice and in email and I also got verbal confirmation because I wanted to be sure otherwise I would go somewhere else . I also told them I had gotten a translation online and that it wasn't what I needed because it couldn't be notarized and asked if they could use it , ( not knowing myself that legally they can't until of course I went to a legit notary and they informed me that was illegal )she said send it over and I'll tell you how much so I did , she then said it would be like 10 dollars less so I said never mind do a new once since I'm paying for it . When I arrived I waited an extra 15 min because John was with a Client , no problem . He went to get my document and turns out there's only one he said " it will be ready in a few minutes " few minutes turned to 40 minutes when he finally gave me the copy it wasn't the same format as the first one but I left anyway and figured well they did their job it was late but I still needed those documents . When I got home I noticed they PLAGARIZED the first translation of my birth certificate which was done on time which is why it was done on time , they copied and pasted their logo took off the other one and notarized it as if he did it . I'm pretty sure that's illegal . The second document was not done right with a lot of Spanish words in there and it looked rushed and also copied and pasted . Even then I gave them a chance to make it right but was met with two phone hang ups and yelling from Jenny the manager . They did offer to do it over but I did not have time to go down to their office or really feel like dealing with them as they were very rude . I asked for a refund to which she refused and yelled again and said I was harassing her for calling back for updates . They plagiarize to make their job easier and don't really know how to translate or treat customers . As most of the reviews above said they also are incredibly unreliable . Just wanted to share my experience. The low ratings here freaked me out because I only checked yelp after I paid for the translation services. I emailed for a quote and submitted my payment/documents on Monday, and picked up the translations on Thursday. They're conveniently located next to Target in ktown. I'd recommend giving yourself some cushion in terms of time. I didn't need my documents until the following week but it wasn't exactly the quick 1-2 days turnaround time as quoted. You do have a be a bit proactive. I didn't hear anything by Thursday morning and I didn't get a response from Jenny via email about the status of my translations, but the gentlemen who picked up the phone was helpful when I called. I appreciated that I was able to go over the translations (like how the names are spelled legally) before it was finalized/notarized. The translator certificate was included for every document with all relevant information, including the translator's certificate number. ABSOLUTELY A NIGHTMARE! I don't recommend this horrible place at all. I needed a Certified English Translation for my school paper's evaluation. So I found this company online and reached a person called Jenny Park over there. She emailed me the quote after I clearly stated I needed a Certified English Translation for my school paper's evaluation so I could apply for J.D. program in law school. I confirmed with her via email if their documents would be accepted by the institution caked IESCAREE where I am doing my evaluation. She answered me via email: "Yes, we did it before and they accepted it". So I paid $150 to them as they asked. Later on, they sent me the translation documents has the mistakes on it by a translator without a license. So they refused to provide the license number when I asked them. They even asked me for more money for doing a new one. I just finished calling this supposedly school and customer service is horrible! I believe the person who answered said her name was Jenny. I asked her to please give me information about their translation and interpretation classes in Spanish and she said they were not offering them at the moment because there wasn't enough students to enroll. It was my personal papers so for sure I know names and other words were incorrect still they will say that's what the paper says.
