I got away with Chorizo, some lean ground beef and some beautiful olive oil. Is this place cheap? No! But, I pay for quality without batting an eye. Especially foodie stuff. Next round was a Tuesday aft. Ahhh. Better. I could see everything, not so packed. It was just after a long weekend so some things were sold out but I grabbed more lean beef, a chicken parm portion, a beef Jamaican patty and a stuffed potato. All were good! The chicken portion from the fresh cabinet was $11.50! More than my lb of ground beef! But it was a filling piece and fed me x 2. I love this place.

For example, their vegetarian poke bowl is $14.50, which is about the same price as freshly prepared and customizable vegetarian bowls elsewhere. There are 3 size sandwiches you can purchase...I THINK they were 10oz, 8oz and 6oz sandwiches. We opted for the 10oz and I think that was close to $10. The sandwich comes classic with mustard on top. The pickle and coleslaw were solid. The sandwich is alright...not worth all the hype I heard about it but it's really unfair to this place since the ones in Montreal are so fantastic. Though it's nowhere near as good as the sandwiches you can find down the 417, it's probably the best smoked meat sandwich I've had in Ottawa which includes Dunn's, Chenoy's and a handful of other places that are supposed to have good smoked meat. I wouldn't come out of my way to grab a sandwich here but if I was in the hood I might drop in. I would drive to Montreal for a smoked meat sandwich, they're just that good there and I think I realized why I like them so much. The smoked meat in Ottawa comes out like a thick cold cut and the smoked meat in Montreal comes out more like a smoked brisket that falls apart and is amazingly tender. I hope someone in Ottawa puts the time in to replicate this as gas is getting expensive to make the 2 hour drive just for a sandwich.

Prior to that they were on Cobden Rd (and this space on Centrepointe Dr was the Centrepointe Deli and Shake Shake Bubble Tea). The store sells raw meats, but also so much more. They sell frozen foods, deli meats, sandwiches, baked goods, snacks, and drinks too. On my first visit, I stopped by for a sandwich. Their menu changes daily, but I believe a few items are always available. I got the ATB Club Sandwich ($12.50). It had real pieces of chicken breast, thick cut bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. The default condiment is mayo, but I asked for mustard instead. It comes on a rectangular crusty bread. The sandwich was delicious, but a bit messy to eat, lol. The chicken pieces fell out of the sandwich and the lettuce is shredded, so the lettuce fell out of the sandwich too. Or maybe I'm just a messy eater, haha. My only complaint is that the sandwich was a bit small. I was definitely still hungry afterwards. So on my next visit, I supplemented my sandwich with a soup. I got the Roast Beef Sandwich ($14) and the Short Ribs and Vegetables Soup ($7). I enjoyed the roast beef sandwich less than the club because the sandwich was so oily. I don't know if they brushed the bread with oil but it was dripping oil. The soup was also on the oily side and the meat had pieces of fat and gristle. I enjoyed my first visit much more, so will likely just stick with the club sandwich. I did bring a colleague on my second visit and she got the Deli Trio Sandwich ($12), which she enjoyed. She also got the same soup as I did. They have Wagyu beef jerky! I've never seen that before. They also had lots of interesting brands and flavours of chips that I haven't seen before.
