I like this place as we are limited to options in Northern Utah but DO NOT use their drive up. I have left twice without food when using the drive up. First time two weeks ago, the lady on the other side could not hear me and I had to repeat my order at least four times before I gave up and left. I went yesterday and ordered this time but waited at the window for at least 11 minutes before I gave up and drove off. No one came to greet me or take my money. I just waited and waited until I couldn't wait any longer because I had kids in the car that were getting antsy. Went somewhere else to get food. Cashier looked down at her order pad, she hadn't given the kitchen our order. Then proceeds to tell us our order was 'ready' literally 2 seconds after giving the cook our order. We waited another 5 min or so, as we could see our food cooking...but we really had to return to work, so we asked for a refund. Cashier said to wait....we were going to be late to work but also didn't want to leave without a refund. As soon as you walk in they greet you and make you feel welcome. The decor is vibrant. Service with a smile and the food was great. We've tried several things here and have not been disappointed. The shrimp fajitas had great flavor and were seasoned well. The quesabirria tacos were not the typical small sized ones. These were a decent size and the broth was a plus. If you're looking to find the best rice and beans look no further. Lila Unica has the most delicious rice and beans. They almost have amazing burritos and quesadillas! You honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu. And don't even get me started on our good their aqua Fresca are and horchata. Perfection. The service is outstanding. We have driven by La Unica a few times heading to Idaho. Their drinks have always been delicious! We finally decided to try the food. When we walked in we were greeted by the owner. He was very friendly and went over the menu as it was the first time we have ate there. The items were very familiar. We ordered our food and drinks and Sat down. We liked that we got chips and salsa while we waited for or food. There was a great selection on the menu I went for the chili relleno and it did not disappoint. I do usually like a green sauce on my food but the red had lots of flavor. My sister got the chicken mole and she said it was very flavorful also. We got an horchata and piña colada. They also had mango, strawberry and cucumber lime. They said on the weekends they have double the flavors to choose from. We will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu! read more

First things first, this is not a review for the food. The food at La Única is wonderful, fresh and delicious. Vibrant flavors and I would say the best Mexican food in the valley The service is incredible as well. Daniel is very pleasant and friendly to everyone. That's what makes La Única such an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately there are some questionable practices with the pricing for the food. This seems to be echoed across reviews for La Única. I don't shy away from spending money on food, especially if the food is worth spending money on (which La Única usually is). However, when the price that I'm given is different than the price on the menu and there is no indication anywhere that the price would be different that's shady at best. If there are price changes then it should be advertised or else it's false advertisement. This won't deter us from coming to La Única and hopefully it doesn't put us on some black list. I just implore the owners that if you are going to change the price you let consumers know so that we can make informed decisions and avoid negative reviews. Transparency isn't too much to ask for. read more

I have been in heaven since I started eating here. They have a variety of Aqua Fresca, and they are all soooo good. They have yummy tacos for a decent price and entrees if you want a little more. You order from the front and then take your number to your table. They will bring you chips and a salsa along with your meals. You can ask for the other hot sauce (there are two) that they will get for you. The place is clean and the people that work there are very friendly. I'm currently sitting waiting for our food, and am going to review our experience chronologically! The man at the register was so kind and walked through the menu with us. First we ordered and we got one of their specialty juices, specifically the piña colada. It is delicious, and has pineapple pulp in it. We also got a basket of chips with three different salsas. Their house salsa in the bowl is a good classic, the green salsa is my personal favorite flavor wise. The hottest salsa in the bottle is hot, but not particularly flavorful. I ordered the 3 quesabirra tacos and rice and beans. The rice and beans are so delicious, the epitome of comfort food. The tacos are so well plated, and done with a sort of dipping sauce and lime to squeeze on top. It was so delicious and filling-- if you don't want to have food left over, order less than you think you will eat! To top it all off, the bus boy was so handsome and had a nice smile. Almost 100 miles north of Salt Lake City is this Gem! I went with the Quesabirria Tacos. And I must say it was quite the plate! Everything is really fresh tasting. From the tortillas, to the salsas and the Fresca drinks as well. Don't skip out on those. I highly suggest to grab one. I have noticed the same, pricing, I order the 3 enchiladas and my wife the chimichanga, and one of the drinks in a quart jar, it was $35, the guy taking our order was loud and when it came to the tip, yelled pick the highest one! The price we figured and what we were charged was off by $10, the guy taking the orders at the cash register was so overbearing that if we go there again and see him we will go some where else. The food, it was okay, the chimichanga was packed with rice and not much meat. The 3 enchiladas were puny and tasteless. The drink in a jar was filled with ice and probably one cup of product. We have been going to La Unica since they opened in Smithfield back in 2017. The food is amazing and we would go once a week! However, now when you go up to the counter to place your order, the owner of the store who is usually the one running the register, is like an aggressive car salesman who tries to upsell you. He has also started to become sneaky and rings the prices up higher than what they are on the menu. If you pay with a debit/credit card, you cannot bypass the tip option, and the lowest you can choose is 18%! I believe this is extremely illegal. Tipping should be an option, and I am always one to tip, but when I am forced to do so, it angers me and it is wrong. The last time I went in and ordered lunch, I chose to pay with cash. When the owner rang me up, I handed him my money and he did not seem pleased. His whole demeanor shifted, and he reluctantly took my money and dropped (not placed) the change into my hand. Obviously he was not happy that I paid with cash because he could not scam me into leaving an 18% tip. LOL Passive aggressive behavior there. I still believe they are one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Cache Valley. I am sad about this because we enjoyed their food so much. But we will not be going back due to the owner being greedy and dishonest. I am leaving this review to warn other patrons about his business ethics. read more

Oh my goodness, where has La Unica been all my life? We ordered way too much, but now we have leftovers for two more meals. The fresh ceviche can feed a family. The pina colada and strawberry drinks were so tasty, we need to try the other flavors next time. We were told the goat tacos were one of the best items on the menu.
