I found myself walking all over 5th avenue and there was a bunch of restaurants and the smell that came from this restaurant as I was passing by... I knew right away I had to eat here. The smell of really good meat! We ate outside and not even 10 minutes later there was live music! And boy they sure sounded so good. The staff is also very nice and I don't have to say that the food was delicious because it was! And the MARGARITA was perfect. I was expecting more from this place, since it it Argentinian and steak is what they are known for. I had the rib eye and the Bife, which was more expensive than the rib eye. We asked for medium rare; less than five minutes after we ordered it, they were giving us our steaks, and the steaks were literally raw and pale. We asked them to take it back and asked them for them to come medium rare, when we got it back the steak came well cooked, I didn't want to ask again, so we just ate it like that. The steak had no flavor. Service was fine, not great, not bad. I think the prices were way too high for the quality of the food and the overall experience. Comparing to other restaurants around, makes me think that we should have chosen go somewhere else instead. Oh well... read more

We had a delicious lunch! Selected the Vaca Argentine cut, split it between two of us. Selected the steak with grilled veggies and added the mashed potatoes. It was delicious with the homemade chimmicuri sauce. Don't fill up on the bread, but save the dipping sauce for your steak. I'm glad we choose this place and I think the reviews could be better, as we had a great steak and good service. I recommend giving them a try. read more

We went here and assumed that it was the same restaurant in Guadalajara. We fast realized it was definitely not! We ordered a ribeye, filet and flank steak. All three were undercooked and burnt on the outside. They tasted of lighter fluid and charcoal. We have never been to a steak house where their meat is cooked and tasted so poorly. I am surprised that the restaurant has not shut down based on my experience here. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. On the positive note, service was good. read more

We ate here twice during our 8 day visit to Playa. One day, they had a special 2 for 1 top sirloin. I'm not a big fan of sirloin, but for the price, it was worth a try. It was DELICIOUS! Please save yourself the time and money by not eating here. There are much better places on 5th Ave. I came here for dinner with my girlfriend our first night in Playa and the WHOLE experience was terrible. The menu displayed outside looked good so we went up to the hostess who was able to immediately seat us. We were seated at a table that wasn't prepared (I was missing a plate and my girlfriend was missing utensils). After 10-15 minutes of waiting we were finally greeted by our server. By that time we had already figured out drinks and food so we went ahead and ordered. Our drinks came out promptly but were warm. Drinks tend to warm up quickly in this humid climate but this place saves time by just serving them warm apparently. While waiting for our food we noticed that every other table had been served complimentary bread with spreads. Our server never came back to check on us so after waiting another 15 minutes I called over another employee who looked to have a more managerial role and asked if we were supposed to be served bread. He confirmed our suspicion and was quick to ensure bread was brought out to us along with the missing plate and utensils. Ten minutes later our server appeared with our two medium/rare steaks. Didn't take more than a bite to realize both our steaks were well done. At this point we're both pissed and want to be done with this place. Not only were we ignored and given half a** service by our server but our entrees were also ruined. Please stay away from this place if you're looking for a quality dinner experience. read more

We found this place decided to try it. It looked nice and we were in the mood for argentine. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. First, the chimichurri was tasteless, second they had no morcilla. That's a must for an Argentine place. We ordered our steaks and fries and took them more than 40 min to bring the order. The place was not even that full and the waiter kept telling us it will be out in 10 seconds... Come on! Manage clients expectations at least and tell me the truth, you can offer me something else to eat in the meantime. We had our steaks and mine was super fatty with very little meat! I was so disappointed that I had to call the manager; I don't like to complain on vacation because it adds unnecessary stress. The manager gave us 20% off and apologized and asked us to come again. I spent a number of years in Argentina and am very familar with Argentinean food, this place is not very authentic. The sausage seemed more like american style breakfast sausage and a sundried tomato sausage. I agree with the other review which commented about no morcilla. Asado in Argentina is not complete without it. The chimichurri seemed like ground parsley with oil, no onion, garlic, or vinegar in the end, no real flavor. My wife who grew up in South America ordered the Pollo al Carbon. Never seen her sadder when they brought what looked like a thinly fillet chicken breast, very lightly grilled, if you know Argentinean food that isn't Asado de Pollo. She took two bites and was ready to leave. All in all wasn't worth the $50 we spent on dinner. read more

We were on a search for desert after a great night in PDC. Ended up here as they had "apple crape flambé" and "banana crepe". We had a glass of wine and waited... Both were acceptable but other diners meals looked great. Pizza was served sheet style on a board and pasta/steak entrees were combined on equally impressive presentations. Our deserts were OK and certainly acceptable but not noteworthy BUT I was ready to go back the next night until the bill came. I was low on Pesos so I presented my Visa card. I was immediately asked for my passport (who carries their passports around?)). I had my drivers license to prove it was my card and staff wrote my DL # on receipt and grilled me about its authenticity. This is a first and still remains a first for me. I call Wells Fargo before I leave the country and inform them of my plans to insure I don't have trouble. I understand that establishments could be taken advantage of with corrupt credit cards but they left us with the feeling that WE were the ones jeopardized. I have spent the last few days of my trip monitoring charges to make sure I wasn't the won't jeopardized. Too bad for policies as staff and food was good.... read more
